Tudor's Plus Sized Sub. Still a chunky boy and misses the sweet spot that Rolex has nailed. BB58: 39mm case, 47.7mm lug to lug, 12mm thick. Rolex Sub 2024: 41mm case, 47.6mm lug to lug, 12.8mm thick. BB41 mono : 41mm case, 50mm lug to lug, 13.6mm thick.
I really like the bracelet options on the Black Bays. But I just noticed that the Jubilee-style bracelet isn't offered on the blue bezel version. I wonder what's up with that? Edit: Ah, the blue version still has the older movement and thicker case - that explains it!

Looks like the old 1950s Submariner. I have always disliked the lack of crown guards. Looks like that has an aluminum bezel insert? Seems inconsistent with the price tag if so. I'd literally rather have a San Martin for $350.
@bradleypariah finishing, movement, certifications, price just to name a few. I haven't met anyone that cross shops Tudor with San Martin. Rolex used Aluminum bezels for the longest time at a higher price point than this so not sure how that seems inconsistent with the price point. These two watches are not comparable imo. Both great in their own way, but apples and oranges
I believe it’s a middle ground. I’ve heard it’s not glossy like the original bb36 nor as sunburst as the black bay 54, but not matte either lol. Two Reddit comments called it a “satin, eggshell-like appearance” and “subtle sunburst”

I prefer Tudor over Rolex. I have a Black Bay GMT "Diet Pepsi." The only thing I don't like about the Black Bay line it is a hair too bright like the Sub and most Rolexes. In my opinion, the Pelagos 42 looks sharper and less blingy than the Sub.

If only Rolex can go two lines. This BB looks like a 5513 Maxi dial should look in a modern version. The 4 lines of text disrupts the balance. I mean who cares about officially certified? We know that, it would be a Rolex if it wasn’t. Rolex please engrave it on the case back since there’s nothing there. I think the watch world would really go ape shit if they went back to a two line on the No date Sub. I think they owe us that. Rolex always does something special for the date version all the time. Consider this BB if you don't want the Rolex stigma, or you don't want to play the Rolex wait games. Heck! I'd even consider this a good "low-target" vacation watch if you do have a Rolex Submariner. I take my blue Pelagos on vacations and leave my expensive watches home in the deposit box.
This version is actually 49.3 lug to lug, 21mm lug width, 40.4mm bezel diameter with a smaller dial than previous versions. It wears noticeably smaller than it seems online. It’s really well done. Wears much better. Case is streamlined/slimmed down too. The only real criticism I have is the case back protrudes a bit which adds that 1-1.5mm or so that gives it that 13.6mm thickness. The actual case and crystal is more like 12mm thickness.
I don’t think it looks like a Submariner. Somewhat reminiscent, but the case, bezel teeth, and crown are much different than a Submariner. Doesn’t even look like Tudor Submariners from the past. Good looking watch nonetheless. Not a replacement to the Rolex Submariner, but a more affordable, more obtainable alternative.

The Tudor is equal to the Sub, for one third the price. The GMT has me interested. I don’t have a GMT and this new Tudor appears to be a quality watch. I have Rolexes and no longer have the desire to buy more, unless the price comes down drastically.

Love it! Tried it on and it is a great watch. Bezel a bit on the wobbly side tbh, compared to a Sub. But give me ceramic and I‘m in in a split second.

I believe that's correct. I remember hearing the new crimson bezel model with the new 5-link bracelet was thinner, but I can't remember by how much.
there are 3 generations of Black Bay. ETA version was thinnest at 12.7mm. Then 2nd gen jumped to 14.7mm. This 3rd gen is 13.7mm.
