In this update I fit a second hand reclining bucket seat in preparation for my track day at Goodwood on July 23rd. The seat position is different from my original seats so I ended up fitting a steering column lowering bracket to get the idea driving position and allow me to see the gauges in comfort without straining.

Hi Keith, it's definitely a close fit width wise hey! Looks a more complete driving position now you've done the drop bracket, all good hey, and of course a test drive to make sure! I also clocked the black dsn door furniture... Very nice too!😊

Hi buddy, that looks like a well SORTED MINI which when done right they are THE most fun car I’ve ever driven and owned (5) about to get back into the Classic minis . Every mini I’ve had I’ve lowered the steering column as it makes heck of a difference cheers SCOOBS UK.

So my steering wheel moves alot before actually turning wheels my bottom bolt used to be loose so put new one and tight and still does it what is wrong. And cheap fixes thinking of drilling whole threw spines and coloum and adding another bolt to help grab it but not sure if fualty column or rack

If it was loose and moving around for a while you have probably worn out the splines in the rack, column or both. Also check the steering rack U bolts are light and the sub frame tower bolts are good i.e. it's not the whole subframe moving
