    We love the fact that TFLClassics gave it a go on this install but... the brackets don’t need to be modified, they need to be used on the correct side of the car. In other words, had he used the right side bracket for the right side of the Mini, and the left side bracket for the left side of the Mini, his install would have been MUCH easier. We encourage anyone who’s installing a product that doesn’t seem to fit, to give us a call. Thanks.

    Guys I do understand that you have budget limits but there is something that no one has ever done. Which is an engine swap to an all American drivetrain kit which is more better than a B16 B and a swift tune mini.
    The engine to be used is from Motus V4 1650 Cubic centimetres which is almost like a baby LS block which produces a good 180 BHP stock. And it is light weight with an engine block design like a car . So u can actually mount a mini gear box into it.

  • @stevenmoran4060
    @stevenmoran4060 3 года назад

    When that car was made there were over 14 screws to remove the grill and the bumpers didn’t flex at all as they were very thick.
    A mini has zero crash protection as I know after driving through a wall, only the boot lid and roof weren’t bent.
    The only light mount that works half decent is the three spotlight mount as per the original Italian job minis.
    The original rally minis had a spot lamp where the indicators are under the headlights.
    Mini Sport are the biggest and oldest mini spares company here in the UK being in business since the 1960’s.

    Nice fix, we just used a piece of
    angle in the 80's. The grill can be fitted with the original screws top & bottom instead of the quick buttons if you wanted to make it more secure. The standard way to stop the soptlights bouncing (they do..) used to be straighten out pipe clamps & make little clips to hold the top of the light still.

    If you thoroughly read the directions instead of just looking at the pictures, might help in the future. By the way, most manufacturer's put a "L" and "R" on the brackets to distinguish left and right. But to be honest, you had me sold when you admitted you don't know how to use a screwdriver. 🙄

    I've got those WIPAC lamps (fogs in my case) on my '88 mini. Only two, so I used the MiniSpares upgraded single lamp mounts. These were also a bit of a puzzle to figure out orientation, but after getting a pic sent from the product guy on MiniSpares support team, it all worked out.
    What I have been disappointed in, the WIPAC lamp back shell is poorly rivetted onto the bracket, such that the shell will wobble about no matter how sturdy the car bracket is. A future fix might be to reinforce the area where the rivets go, or using JB-Weld epoxy to stabilize the rivets. Also, the lamp covers, unlike yours, don't seem to hold on to the lamps at all, fall off just be looking at them. So, I leave them off.

    Hey Guys as Mini Mania and as i said before, fit them on the correct side! so others know you have to drill ALL new holes to fit the brackets. If you had holes in the apron already someone has drilled them before for something else so its no wonder they didn't fit. This kit has been designed by mini specialists and they do fit. Im sure you'll find the instructions tell you that you have to modify the grille as well or you could have checked the pics on Mini Mania website. Great you had a go but dissing products because you don't read instructions isn't good.

    Minis are a nightmare for fitment, as there are literally dozens of different variations of the front end. Depending on the year, market and specified options, even big "proper" components like the radiator can be in a different place. Strangely, I thought that generally the bumpers were pretty much the same! Certainly I had a very similar setup on my old 1996 Mini, and while my grille didn't get in the way, it was definitely not so easily removed!
