Ah. Memories of a time long passed. I was but a wee lad, would have been about 4 years ago now. Played this song with my fellow percussionists and we played this song with amazing passion and excitement. Those were the days of grand band teachers and amazing enthusiasm. Such amazing hunger for music at such an early age. I feel old. 👴👴
cant be talking u piece of trash im assuming leah cat made all county in 7th grade and had a clinic and for 3 days im guessing they prepared the piece and performed it while u on the other hand is just play the piece in a normal school and probably took some months to prepare
Ah grade nine... three years ago. I loved playing this one. It's awesome when you're on the drums because we put the speed up quite a bit and it was crazy and intense. Except we didn't have a recorder solo because my teacher had a vendetta against them. I think it was a clarinet that played the part or some other type of flute.
I can't believe I found this music. I played it in Jr high over 20 years ago and had the recorder solo. We won our festival that year. I've thought about this piece ever since. It was one of my favourite pieces of music we ever played
Played this freshman year on Bass Clarinet. I’m 24 now. Have now idea why my brain dug up this random memory but I’m glad I decided to find this video. Major nostalgia.
My band plays this faster (except for the record solo) and in my opinion it makes it much more fun and exciting (If you set the playback speed to 1.25 we go just a tiny bit slower than that)
now I NEVER heard an orchestra for Native American Indian style type of music, and I gotta say, I like the "Greatest American Hero" and 70's - 80's tv show and the sports tv and Native sound it has to it. Nice!
I got this piece about 2 weeks ago and i honestly regret not practicing it right away because i have a concert on saturday (it's tuesday) and im not very confident. Especially because im not going to play with my regular band.
I remember when we did this, the trumpets had the hardest time with they’re part at 15, but me on my clarinet at home could replicate it perfectly and it was kinda funny, but I still respect them.
Every time we play this song in class, I feel bad for interrupting the beautiful recorder solo. I'm a trumpet and have to do the "do do do do dodo dOODO dodo" part. I cant help but close my eyes during that part and imagine im in the forest
Used to play this on trombone in grade 8 band, was so terrible that the teacher agreed to pass me and my 2 friends as long as we never signed up for band again😅 but I had a lot of fun with this song and will always remember it.
We were going to be playing this but almost all the other kids said it was, "Too hard to play." I really wanted to play this incredible piece. Oh well maybe next year. 🎼🙂🤔
0:45 is WAY too slow at 112, I don't care what the music says. We played it at 136. Those eighth notes can also be conducted in 8/8 mixed meter time (3+3+2, conducted like 3/4 only the first 2 sets of 8th notes are triplets) and it will still work.
Sarah Edwards the music is the correct speed, your band played it too fast. I played this in 7th grade for one of our concert pieces and we played how it was wrote and we got gold with distinction which is the highest rank you can get

Played this freshman year on Bass Clarinet. I’m 24 now. Have now idea why my brain dug up this random memory but I’m glad I decided to find this video. Major nostalgia.

we played this in district honor band, tuba part is best, i can confirm.
I remember when we did this, the trumpets had the hardest time with they’re part at 15, but me on my clarinet at home could replicate it perfectly and it was kinda funny, but I still respect them.

Yes! French horns for the win (always forgot about) 😂
I played this arrangement in 8th grade with my trumpet, but I moved on with my clarinet.
We were going to be playing this but almost all the other kids said it was, "Too hard to play."
I really wanted to play this incredible piece. Oh well maybe next year.

Played this in 8th grade, the recorder feature goes hard
We don’t have any recorders so now it’s a flute solo in our band.

Sarah Edwards I mean the music says 112 so that the original tempo but your band played it much faster for some reason...
Sarah Edwards the music is the correct speed, your band played it too fast. I played this in 7th grade for one of our concert pieces and we played how it was wrote and we got gold with distinction which is the highest rank you can get
