Same but the game for me is super smash bros ultimate i can't join specific friend he has nat type B i also have the same but when I join my other friend I can join he has nat type B also

Hello my friends. I'm forma Brazil and not so good with english so take easy on me. Well, after almost a year of error code 2618-0518 I just solve the issue. I called Net Operator in my house, and we test all possibilites we could. The only way was tô generate a static IP. But not any IP. We restart the modem severas times until get a IP that connect online. Then the operator put this IP static for me and it works. We find that only when the IP is the same at the switch (when we test connection on it, shows the correntes IP), and on the Internet server, we can play with the other players. So, call yours Internet supporter. I hope could help anybody with this information.
Ok we have two wifi's in our house ee and sky and if I try to change the security on either of them it just instantly either refuses to connect or rejects the password no matter how many times I re-enter and double check it for errors.
@@koro8544 i didn't do anything my wifi provider started upgrading their network and gave me a new modem n wifi router the one i had before was 11 years old from the same company....so i check Splatoon deleted all the original settings i had and made a new connection to the new router i did not edit my switch setting when i set a new connection to my router when i checked my NAT type on the switch i saw B so from day before i was able to play Splatoon 2 normally.....which by the way had no issues with fall guys on the previous modem so it's clearly Nintendo's to pvp vs server run games,even tho Nintendo do use server it realize on peer to peer connections.

I might know how to fix this because mine got fixed, go next to where your internet is the strongest like the area and make sure the wifi is fast, then you close and restart your game and I will work because I had this issue 2 days ago I let it rest for 1 day I came back took it to the area the wifi was the strongest and boom it worked :) for splatoon and every other game

@deadchannel478: You probably see more hacker in your non-hack switch if you pick the security shared or open, because does security option are for the people that used custom Wifi people that got banned from the original Nintendo online server. So that error is not a big deal it just meant maybe at the time it was trying to connect to a room that was in custom Wifi since it was the only one available. I don't know for sure since I never got banned, but base on what the person said up above and even Nintendo confirmed this in the troubleshoot nintendo support, however nintendo does not mention about the hacker custom Wifi since it is not related to them.

@@Cheezt I actually did, after trying everything on my end the thing that did it was calling my ISP and asking for a different IP address, don't know exactly what's different but after this everything works perfectly in Pokémon swsh and mario kart.
