- If you’re looking for a cute, old-fashioned beach town on Florida’s Gulf Coast, Treasure Island fits the bill.
Located south of Clearwater Beach and north of St. Pete Beach, this community of 6,500 residents got its catchy name in the early 1900s. That’s when several property owners attempted to boost sales of the properties being developed on the island in a way that I’m pretty sure would be scandalous and unlawful by today’s standards.
They buried a couple of wooden chests on the beach and then pretended to discover them. After claiming the chests were filled with treasure, news of the discovery quickly spread and people began calling the community Treasure Island.
In this episode, we’re gonna show you around Treasure Island and highlight just a few of the things you can’t miss when you’re here.

Another wonderful vlog!!! We went to Treasure Island about 20 years ago and it's absolutely unique and beautiful!! We didn't know the origin of the name, that's so awesome! We loved the white beaches and so many shells!!! I love "old Florida" and showing Thunderbird Motel/Hotel, there's one in Savannah, GA we always stay at (on our way down to St Augustine), love the "ambiance there". Didn't know there's one over in Treasure Island!! ;) Wonderful video and such great ideas, too!! Ty for sharing
I can vouch for this guy I'm a former resident of Treasure Island and I loved it and I miss it a lot. I lived there from 1988-1992 and it was awesome then and it still is and will always have a special place in my heart.

I am kind of new to your channel I assume you are a radio announcer or something like that,. Nice video! It was looking for beaches to go to if we move there that I can go to without hurting myself. I am learning to walk again a cant walk on surfaces that are not flat!
