Lovely video. Captures all the main points. No mention of the Folk Festival, (although some might consider that a reason NOT to go 😂 ).
Although the fishing boats that once filled the east end of the beach seem to have gone, there is still a fish market there.
Thanks for watching,it's appreciated. I didn't mention the folk festival as its only on once a year, so for most visitors, not something they will likely see there. I grew up near Sidmouth and always enjoy visiting whenever I get a chance, overall a lovely seaside town, it has a certain quaint charm, maybe a little old fashioned which is perfect as far as I'm concerned 👍👍👍

I've been to Sidmouth twice 45 years ago. I remember and reckognize everything in the video. Although Sidmouth was a beautiful place back then, it feels like it has become even more adorable. Thanks for waking up some buried nice memories!

Thank you. I'm not sure the temperature as the weather in the UK changes a lot, but from my memory of swimming in places near here when I was younger it's not to bad and quite nice for swimming. Hope you both have a great Sunday cheers from barnyz 👍☺👍☺👍☺

Looks like a wonderful place for a getaway.

Heard of it but never been but I can see why it is so popular. Connaught Gardens looked superb as well mind, although I am never keen on a shingle beach, despite loving Chesil Beach in Weymouth🤔. Always a sucker for a nice church and that was certainly one of those, cheers Alan

If you ever go to Sidmouth and want to use a sandy beach to get in the sea, low tide exposes sand from below Connaught Gardens westwards. We always plan our swimming around tide times.

Actually there are Ten reasons not 5 havin grown up in Sidmouth.Coastal path walk,Cream tea with Devon clotted cream&strawberries,brass Band play at Connaught gardens in summer on sundays,Watch cricket from picture postcard ground overlooking the front and Annual Folk festival in july.Do your research😊

What would be the better of the 2 towns to live sidmouth are seaton as i am relocating from Tyneside in the near futire hopefully by the end of the year
They are both very nice with great seasides. I prefer Sidmouth as its a little bigger and has more stuff to see, but ive also not lived in either so i dont think im best qualified to recommend one over the other for actually living in. For that perhaps its best to visit both and perhaps speak to some local people
@Barnyz my family live in different parts of Devon I've no family up here in Tyneside are friends everyone has moved its not a British city Newcastle anymore you need ryes in the back of your head everytime I sm in Devon it's peaceful county I know ot has it problems but Tyneside has just over 2 million in its population its doubled since the late 90s and getting worse I've had to have steel shutters put on my windows and doors are no insurance company will touch you
Hey Barnyz. We didn't visit Sidmouth on our trip to Devon last year, but it looks as lovely as the other coastal areas of Devon, each with its own bit of individuality. I will certainly put this on the list for our next trip, we actually prefer Devon to Cornwall, places are quaint still but larger. Have a lovely day - Nettie
