3 Scottish Soldiers.
50 Years Of Remembrance.
On the 10th March 1971 Brothers John McCaig, 17 Years of Age, Joseph McCaig, 18 Years of Age with Friend & Comrade Dougald McCaughey, 23 Years of Age, set off into Belfast City Centre for a drink & bit of craic.
While out they befriended some local people who they thought to be just like themselves, happy go lucky & out for a good time.
However these were not young people like themselves, they were a Catholic Extremist Death Squad, an IRA Murder Gang that had been roaming the streets, pubs & clubs of Belfast hunting for their next victim.
These Terrorists having pretended to offer the hand of friendship to a few young lads away from home then asked them if they wanted to go to a party. The trusting lads having no reason to question their newly attained friends honesty, accepted.
The IRA Murder Squad then took the young lads to the outskirts of Belfast were no one could witness their savagery; here the unarmed & defenceless young boys were then murdered, executed by an IRA Death Squad.
Those that they had trusted, who had offered the hand of friendship to them, had in fact lured them to their deaths.
No one has ever been charged or convicted for this heinous crime & given that our weak & shameful government has now implemented a Republican Appeasement Policy, the chances are, no one will.
That said, I’d like to make this clear.
The people of Northern Ireland will never forget these young men, their families or their comrades for the loss they have suffered, & will continue to fight for the Truth, Justice & Accountability they deserve.
At The Going Down Of The Sun & In The Morning We Will Remember Them.
