As a person from germany i can tell you that there is only one rule: comparing something to the Holocaust is no good idea.
Unless it’s a genocide, I mean there are modern day issues that are comparable. Like what’s happening to the Palestinians and the Muslims in China
Was Hitler christian?
@@bobsburgers8497 You have a point. We can compare genocides to the holocaust but even when looking at the horrors of Rwanda, when nearly a million lost their lives in 100 days it doesn't match the scale. Had the Rwandan genocide lasted years and spread to other nations in Africa resulting in a world war then it easily could have been a contender for most obscene genocide this century. Can we compare them though, yes certainly. Can we compare Rwanda with throwing a mask over your mouth and nose when you step into a corner store? No. No we cannot.
@@publicutility no he hated Christianity too, but most of Germany was Christian so he went after everyone else
@UC3Yu_cQkLUj7kkfDaIyiDDw well yea I get that, but officially more Muslims have died in those Chinese camps than Jewish people in the Holocaust. Ofc what’s different is different, BUT in some ways I think that saying what’s happening there is like a modern day Holocaust will hopefully show people how severe it actually is. Most people know about the severity of the Holocaust, so to show the scale of what’s happening by comparing might make people listen to the issues?
Oh Marjorie, it's not like wearing a gold star if everyone has to wear one. When will you ever think anything through?

Too obvious, it seems to be.

Even scarier they may be the pride of Kentucky.
It’s Kentucky.

The problem with his driving analogy is that 1, people have to have a driver's license and 2, follow the law.
So does this mean he's also for a vaccine passport? The GOP should really stop with driving analogies. It doesn't work well for them.
Also speeding isn't a law just to protect the person speeding but also the person they may hit. So it really doesn't work lol
@@Chas-OTE I know, why do they always compare disease to car accidents 🤔😂
@@Placker8102 ironically this makes it a great argument for... masks and vaccinations, since it's the same thing, its there to protect others from your stupidity
Totally. Do you have any idea how many conservative fathers have told me that driving is a privilege not a right. Suddenly it's a right?
The "regional theater wig" joke was absolute fire.
“Just be cool, and wear your mask.” The psa I’ve been looking for this whole pandemic.
The thing missing from that "speeding on the highway" analogy is that reckless drivers don't just endanger themselves, they endanger the people around them, which is exactly why it's not just a matter of people deciding for themselves, it's a public safety issue and worth regulating.
I find it strange how these freaks always use automobiles/driving as their go-to analogy for such discussions, particularly the matter of gun control. Cars in which everything from their design, manufacturing, modifications, to licensing and road rules etc... they're quite possibly THE most regulated technology on the planet!

MTG is that lady that never returns the shopping cart, leaves canned goods in the produce section, and steals the toilet paper from the rest rooms.
🤣🤣
MGT is no "lady" and is more likely to leave raw chicken in the canned goods isle. She's rich so I'm not sure she would steal crappy toilet paper, she would be more likely to put the roll of tp in the toilet whole on top of the crap she took so someone has to dig through her crap to remove it.
you forgot that she leaves Ice cream, milk, eggs, and the such sitting about so they go bad and either make someone sick or make the store throw it away (which eventually increases prices since they will need to make up for the loss.)
Them same people voted her in a seat, scary.
The GOP is unable to comprehend "It's not just about you"?
Inconceivable.
@Monique Damphousse you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You infected my father. Prepare to be vaccinated!
"It's just that masks are terribly comfortable -- I think everyone will be wearing them in the future,"
Hahahaha you're snowflake sheep 🐑 🤣. If it works why you freaking out if they don't want it?
@@legacyfarmmarket Because the more of us that get vaccinated, the harder it will be for COVID-19 to mutate into yet another variant. Some of the already-existing variants are scary enough in that they are even more infectious than the original. In order to throw off a mutation, the virus has to be spread multiple times. A group with herd immunity (vaccinated) can't spread it, so it doesn't get a chance to mutate.
When a large segment of the populace decides they don't want to be vaccinated--for whatever reason--they endanger the rest of us. That's why we are concerned (not freaking out).
My town, Lincoln NE, lifted the mask mandate today. Going into a store, the sign read, "Don't even ask... wear a mask". No problem.

One of my co-workers got Covid-19 twice, first time he was fine- fealt a little unwell but it passes- he got it the second time he ended up in hospital & blood clots etc. He wasnt put on a ventilator but very close to needing one.
So, proper role of government is to inform the public, nothing else? "Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know there's a huge fire coming your way. We would send firefighters, but you say that's not our role. We would suggest getting out, but you'll do the opposite anyway, so enjoy the barbeque!"
but he also talks about self-determination, which means that if the people determine they want a fire brigade, it's the government's job to provide one. The American people decided they wanted a mask mandate, so why didn't the government provide one?
This is actually how we run fires & covid in Australia, the people decided they wanted a mask mandate, so the government delivered it. When the people decided it was time for it to end, the government ended it. Same applied to lockdowns, protests & all other restrictions - the majority chose, the government enforced on the rest.
When a bushfire heads towards people in Australia, the government puts the info on the website & tells people how it recommends they respond, where evacuation centres are & which direction it's safe to travel to get to them & sends the fire brigade, while keeping the website updated, eventually reaching a point where it says "it's too late to evacuate, the fire is all around you, you must shelter in place, or get to your local "safer place"."
"Safer place" means a local sports field that fire brigades will be withdrawing to as their trucks start burning in the nuclear level intense fire. Civilians can stand on the non-fire side of the trucks under their sprinkler system to try to survive if their homes have burnt down & they didn't evacuate when it was recomended.
Alternatively, people put bins of water out the front of their homes if staying, so those who's homes have burnt can knock theirs over as they leave & knock at the door of any other home with a water bin out the front that will hopefully withstand the fire. We never mandate evacuations though, it's the people's choice. We only inform on what's recommended & what the capacity of the fire brigade is - and it works
That's very funny, but it sounds like MTG reasoning.
Actually, the first firefighters worked for private companies. Then fights broke out over who got to fight each fire and thereby get paid, so it was made a public service. But the theory of capitalism is that EVERYTHING is done better and cheaper by the private sector. The theory neglects to mention that "better" and "cheaper" are usually in opposition to each other.
The government would like to inform you that murder is a bad thing to do. By the principle of self-determination, however, it will not intervene or react if you decide to do it anyway. This is a free country after all.

@@Grizabeebles Yeah, I think in the next year or so, we're going to see her in the news, there will be a hostage situation at best and a shooting at worst. She's already proven she can't be trusted to follow the rules of firearms in a government building. And when people that work with her say, 'I don't feel safe around her', who can blame them? An unhinged evangelical xenophobic conspiracy theorist toting a gun around? WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG IN THIS SITUATION!?
@@heavysystemsinc. I can't help but see Greene as the Harding to Cortez's Kerrigan. Except of course that Harding had actual talent to go with the nebulous rage.
Should've kept MTG on the Education Committee. How is she supposed to get a GED now? 🤷♂️
Jack Black is really committed to his new role as an epidemiologist.
🤣🤣🤣
Imagine if this guys house got burgled and the police said to him "Sorry but the government just suggests not stealing, it's not a mandate".
someone pointed out : wearing the mask is mostly a defense against someone sneezing into your open mouth. and. ... i think i'm cool with defending against that scenario FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
except that's not true. it's to stop your droplets getting out, not so much to stop others' droplets getting in.
@@peterg5383 but...if it's to stop your droplets from getting out, then by default, it will also stop your droplets from getting into me.
@@peterg5383 Depends on the mask, I think......which is why my go-to is a headband-style Powecom KN95.
If people habitually wore masks during the flu season when in crowded public places, the level of sickness would drop dramatically.
@Proper: a (typical cloth) mask stops 95% of your own droplets, and 1% of somebody else's. so you're right - it does both.
“It’s not just about you. It’s about preventing transmission to others”. The “others” is where you lost that Senator, Seth.
It’s where he lost most people. The majority don’t care about others, which is one reason we don’t have a universal healthcare system

no, see, they know responsible dems are getting vaccinated in enough numbers to approach herd immunity and protect vaxless, maskless trumpers from getting sick.
we have to do everything for them.
It just amazes me how someone who clearly failed high school Health class could be a Senator with a legislative opinion on the subject.
Apparently they can't remember the definition of a Carrier.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is after a platform, any platform, that will feature her, and you are doing just that. She will say outrageous things to get that platform.
Media should drop the mike on all complicit idiots.
you may be right, but I also think she is grossly ignorant, and is a "Seller" for the Fox News audience
Media has a responsibility to call out idiots like MTG. That isn't proving her with a platform. That's kicking the platform out from under her.
That regional theater wig of yours...the SHADE! XD
Also, "No shirts, no shoes, no service!" Brutal!
Here in Ontario, stores are only allowed to sell essentials, like food, cleaning supplies and medicine. Clothes aren't included, so it is my contention that this means we don't to put on clothes before we go outside rotfl
It's almost like stores have been dictating what you're allowed to wear on their PRIVATE PROPERTY the entire time..
Also, Driver's Licences. I can drive trust me, I just don't have it on me now. I thought this was Amurrica
I must wear seatbelt because a veteran state highway patrolman once said he never unbuckled a dead passenger or driver in a vehicle in 21 years. of course this is just for me if you don't want to wear a seatbelt just pay the ticket or pay with your life. no skin off my nuts😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑
Friday thru Sunday is so long without Seth!
Honestly
That's why we have the footy.
AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH!🤔
Its like torture waiting. Then I get my fix on Monday
Man I thought only I felt that way!
Best treatment for insane people like MTG is to simply ignore them. There is nothing of value to be had from the conversation. Playing chess with a pigeon. Please don’t give this lunatic a platform.
She has a platform whether liberal media talks about her or not... If liberal media didn't talk about her then only conservative media would and far to many would not know who she is till she is president... We need to point people like Trump and MTG out, yeah sometimes it may bite us in the ass and kill nearly a million Americans but if we didn't the public in general wouldn't have the ability to decide for themselves...
Another media drop mike, why don’t they listen.
You crack me up. Appreciate your updates.

I remember when you could just move to another train car to avoid these people, now they get elected to Congress...
Great analogy!! I’m going to definitely use it myself.
The patients are running the asylum.
That's a great way to put it..👏👏
Good point
Exactly 😱😱😱

A great presentation - thanks!
How can this people be playing with human lives? They bring in politics in everything putting others lives in danger😭😭
Because of the economic crisis and the rate of unemployment now is the best time to invest and make money 💯

the John Kennedy singing part felt like it was 4 hours long lmao
There were far too many words between the beginning and the end!
Second verse
Same as the first!
A little bit longer
A little bit worse!
You'll think me weird, but I didn't hate that segment. Maybe because it ended with him saying to get the vaccine, "I did." IDK, but old guys not having the voice to sing, but doing it anyway is something endearing to me. Not saying I'd pay to hear it.... twice.
Government " we can't raise minimum wages..."
Ice cream shop " hold my beer"
You’re just egging on your Corrections fans now, aren’t you? lol 😂
“Krogers” annoys me but that was funny
Public Enema is by far the best joke I've ever heard on Late Night. Kudos
"Olympic Bobshedding team" is one of the best ways I have heard to refer to the Txxxx family in ever.
I agree. Unfortunately I was eating dinner when he said it, 😂🤣🤣
Who wrote that joke? I hope it was Jenny ☺️
Informative and funny, Thanks Seth!
The Trader Joe’s in my area were the strictest of all the stores! I just stopped shopping there. Not because I was mad about their policy. It just took too damn long to get inside.
A dear friend of mine worked at Kroger for years, and although he was a super-chill, easygoing, even-tempered guy, he would go ballistic if you ever called it "Kroger's"...😆
Didn't Rand Paul when he was suspected of having Covid-19 (he probably did at the time) continue going to the gym others congresspeople go to?
Love that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the commentary on the "seeing the lower half"🤣🤣🤣
Greenie says "this woman is MENALLY ill". Is MTG a weirdo, or what? I think that is an IMPORDENT question.
