I always liked that monsters have better weapon match ups than others. This makes you either learn a new weapon or just get very good at reading the monster to beat it, as it will only have one or two points for weapons of the other types to get good damage against. Nerscylla, Nimblesnarf and Ruby Basarios are monsters which have good gunner hit zones which makes them better hunts for a gunner. Daimyo, Black Gravios and Shrouded Nerscylla have good impact hit zones, so are better hunts for Impact weapons. Whereas most flag ships have Cut hit zones as the best, so are better hunts for Slicing weapons. So the fights you find annoying and/or hard is more due to weapon match then anything else. Saying that it could also come down to the way some monsters move, but that still comes down to the weapon you prefer and play style. Example; when my friend and i first fought mitszune i found the hunt easy as the way i play meant i was naturally out if its attack hit box, my friend got carted multiple times as the movements didn't gel with his play style, so he had to learn the fight where as i just hunted them for fun as i didn't need to learn it until G/master rank.
@@mairain6443 you’re right it does depend on weapon choice but im a fiend and have always stuck to longsword, tho i AM interested in trying other weapons im thinking i might pick up hammer
@@arsans_ oh, i completely get that i have played light bowgun since mh3, which is why mitszune was so easy as if you strife to the left as you shoot it will never hit you lmao, even in rise its only the water beams you need to watch out for. But in MH:Gen the light bowgun had some terrible match ups, so i learnt aerial SnS which trolls altreon as if you go dragon damage and jump off its tail whilst it fly's you get knock downs or mounts and do a lot of damage, chessy but really fun. Now I play Shield Heavy bowgun, light bowgun and SnS. i'm mostly a range player for two reasons; 1)i like to learn the movements and the bowguns give you close, mid and long range damage options so i know more of the tells for which range they are at. 2) my friend always played great sword and long sword so would either flinch or launch me in the air, this was before flinch free was a thing, so i just switched to mostly range and this worked for use both as i would break certain parts he can't hit and he would cut tails.
@@arsans_ i love naja. really creative design. can be annoying to fight but thats so worth it imo. same with uhhh whatever the owl is called. ...me not remembering its name is surely a good sign.
Nerscylla is peak if you're rocking Aerial style and/or insect glaive. Otherwise it can be pretty miserable lmfao
