Can I have glass effect, please... 🥺
Song list and links please?
My GF got me a Traktor Z1 for Xmas, just to mess around on. By March I had bought myself a DDJ 400 and read the Carl Cox book and am completely addicted. Started with house n techno, moving into hip hop now (still a noob at everything obviously). I have watched hours n hours of crosfader vids in the last couple of months. I even take my decks to work and practice in the back of my 10 year old fiesta on my lunch breaks 😂 Every vid I watch I'm like, "oh yeah!", "no way!", "now it makes sense!". The help is immensely appreciated guys, much love ❤️
i had no clue to use the sampler for the acapellas. i thought you needed 4 decks thank you you for this.
That sampler tip is genius! There's so much more to DJ-ing than beat-matching and filtering in/out, that's just the tip of the iceberg. The creativity and personal spice you can put into your sets after mastering the basics is where DJ-ing get's really fun
If it ain't fun... your not doing it right!! All about the fun
Love the break down of everything you did. Helps old school DJs like myself to keep up with the mew techniques for the newer equipment. These are techniques I’ve used with turntables and cassette tapes in my early days. Now trying to adjust and learn everything all over again. Videos like these are a big part of that so thank you so much
Loved the sampling tips. Perfect way to mix classic tracks from back in the days with newer music as some of the new hip hop tracks nowdays have started sampling the melodies, beats and hooks from 90s and 00s tracks.
My favorite trick is the one that helps me win the next DMC Foundation Championship! Great video!
I think finger drumming 🥁 suits it all, As a young DJ, I will try to mix like a musical engineer on a beat because in Africa it is about how innovative you could be when you are a young DJing.
Cheers from Liberia 🇱🇷
One day I saw a video in this channel🤯 and i knew I can do it, 😌😌 i started digging, now i have my home studio, and I'm keeping learning, thanks #crossfader you make my dreams possible! Big up from Athens,. Greece 🇬🇷❤️✌️
I I WAS WAS REALLY REALLY DIGGIN DIGGIN THE THE DOUBLING DOUBLING TRANSITION TRANSITION. THANKS THANKS. 👍👍
Let’s go 🔥
o bUt SyNc iS cHeaTinG
Glad to see y’all embracing these techniques to level up playing on ANY gear. It’s not about the tool, it’s about how you use it.
Wow Lawrence, remains me of Dahved Levy - Rocking You, Rocking You. Love the acapella MIX. Very Creative.🎚
Always smash it with the videos gonna be adding these techniques into more of my sets starting tonight. Freeing up a track with a sample is a great idea wish I thought of this a while back.
Thanks and happy djin.
Thank you so much for this video! You always explain in a way that is easy to understand. I've been seeing DJs on Tiktok break down samples and was wondering how they were recreating them, now I can try it too! Appreciate you!
Very inspiring to watch, it makes me want to continue going on my own DJ journey that i started back in March this year. Loving the challenge and experience of DJing and seeing the many options of mixing got me excited. Appreciate your posting this video.
Love the vids guys learning new techniques every video. Hip hop mashups are my vibe so was great to watch as a beginner DJ. Killing it #crossfader
Great tips! And using the rev 1 always look for your content educational and relevant keep up the great work!
Acapella in the sampler!! Ohh! So that's how some djs switch beats so fast!!
A dope trick 💪
Cross fader back as it again with the amazing tutorials. These tricks will definitely make it into my next set
Great video! I would say finger drumming is the most "visible" transition style. Totally great to show off my musical knowledge. Great course! Keep up the good work 💪💪
I am a doctor by profession and a dj by passion and I am improving myslef day by day by watching your videos cross fader❤️
always giving us the best, thank you DJ
Great to see that things show in this way. For beginners this mean a lot. Thanks!
Freaking awesome video! So much to learn from this tutorial! Keep up the great work!
I'm following you guys All the way from Norway 🇧🇻 thanks very much for the lessons 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏
One more time you guys inspire us to practice and keep creating content!!! I will start the practice with finger drumming to be honest but all of these 5 tricks are next next level!!!
I’m gonna say I love using the sampler technique mixing vocals with instrumentals it helps to extend my mixes plus gives me freedom to create new mash ups
You know it's gonna be good when Hova starts it!! Instantly have the crowd in the first 3 seconds!! Sick mix, from a dope selector!
I enjoyed the Beat Jump & Instant Doubles....excited!!!
Great video! Great tips! I am definitely a fan.
loved the beat jumper and i’m sure there’s other things you can add to this to make it more complicated but it’s an amazing place to start - thank you!
Always something new and fresh from you guys!
The instant double comes in handy when using just one table and mixer... And saving intro loops for blends to ease transitions... Thanks for the video.
Yeh the instant double is a lifesaver when you turn up to a club with a broken deck haha
How you do it with only one deck?
@@albertoromeo8522 Load Track on Deck 1(physical Deck), instant double to Deck 2(software Deck) and move the crossfader to Deck 2. Load next Track on Deck 1. Prep it then mix it in and move crossfader to Deck 1. Then Instant Double to Deck 2 and move crossfader over to Deck 2. Rinse Repeat.
I kinda do this a lot even though i have 4 Decks cause i am better scratching on Left Deck than Right ect so i send my Instant Doubles to Right Deck and stick on Left Decks to do my stuffs :)
I've always struggled when I get Hip hop requests as I dont know the songs well enough love these techniques
Valuable info. Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Big fan of word play! Def will try and add some sample mixing to the routine.
Also DJ Habibeats is the GOAT.
I just got back into to DJing and I’m so far behind the curve. I’ve been really interested in learning how to do my own mashups. This video has Shined a light on the process. Mad love to crossfader, keep holding it down for all levels of DJs! I will purchase the hip hop class!
❤️❤️
This is a great example of mixing expertise with expert song choice. A rare find.
I have done ~100 gigs. A lot of mixing tutorials aren't helpful because the DJ chooses songs that mix well harmonically at the expense of song choice. For me song choice is #1 always. I like your song choice here.
Dope shit as usual!! About to practice all 5 tips..
That last trick I’ve done for years but never thought to set it up with beat jump. I always manually pulled the deck back with my hand to line it up. Yours is definitely a better way and now I have to go practice it lol
Am from uganda 🇺🇬 , With your channel crossfader on all your social networks, I have learnt some good techniques to use despite using a cheaper gear
I love the first example with dropping the acapella in sample i am now supper inspired thee way you played it is like we play it in my city I learning that example super fire thanks you just up my game a new level!!!.......much love......DJ FREE
Hi guy
I want to appreciate crossfader
For releasing helpful video like that one
Great great 🤙✌️💥💥💥💥💥
This was so helpful! Much appreciated.
i really like the double effect and happy to learn there is this "instant double" feature in Serato. i didn't know that there is a way to load it in sync with the other channel instantly coz what i usually do is just load on the other channel and sync it manually. thank you so much for the tips. really glad that i subbed to this YT channel. :)
This is perfect timing, I started mixing Reggaeton and it’s very similar to hip hop but just in Spanish. The vocal sampler definitely is my favorite because I think you have to use acapellas as a hip hop dj if you want to stand out. 🤙🏾
i already learned your tip right from the beginning man thank you so much God bless
There are not to many Hip Hop Videos to learn from ,showing us behind the curtain techniques.Much love and respect from South Africa. I feel inspired by your Informative video and skills from the top drawer.Thank you So much I am sure you inspired a few of us from all over the globe.Stay Blessed.
You never disappoint man. The advice you give is always relevant! Love the acapella in the sampler and the wordplay! Keep up the good work!
Big love ! Appreciated 💪
@@Crossfader One of the big things i miss about Serato since moving to Rekordbox you can have your Samples play from Cue Points, in Rekordbox you cannot do that you have to do some nonsense when its in the sampler to micro/super super super super slow shuffle you start position.
Its so so so so stupid it makes using the sampler for anything that you want to start in the Sampler more that a few seconds in seriously painful :(
THIS VID IS OFF THE CHAIN!!!
Beat Jump & Instant Doubles is SOOO awesome. It will become a favorite of mine as soon as I can master it. The sampler as an extra track is a-rockin' idea. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
😂
Yes great mixing ideas
Glad to hear a RUclipsr that didn’t feel the need to over explain the pitch placement on the Rev1. And you made that PYT/Good Life transition look much easier than ?uestlove did.
this technique is very impressive...thanks Lawrence James!!!!!!
No problem!
Solid tutorial and skills. Respect
I'm always looking to creatively "mashup" songs etc... together. Using the sampler functions is dope and does add spice to the mix! Thx a bunch #wearecrossfader
More of these 🙌🏼
One of my favorite dj from crossfader ❤️🔊
Tnx for the vid.. X fader vids r always well xplained and in detail. I like it cause i bought a controller a month ago and i need all the help i can get. Pls keep up the well constructed vids. When i practice i always have ur videos nearby
Always here to help man! thanks for watching
Best mix bro !
Definitely gonna try these tips, 🤛🏾
You gave us the technique, now give us the full perfomance vid with '90s og hip hop ! 📼🔥🔥🔥
oh my thank you so much! 🔥
Thank u so much for this video!
Our pleasure 😃
I'm new in this, interesting to watch, have to try 😃 all transition is great 👍🏻
The Beat mashup with Jay Z was 🔥
I love all of this tricks! if I had to choose one of them my favorite would be "Finger Drumming". Lawrence, sure your are good at beatboxing, so the best trick could be "Finger Drumming Beatboxing" with your voice/ beats 👌🏼😉
Dope!!!
Tryin to learn hip hop is difficult, this video is sick
I like the word play trick loved the way you used all the way up & hands up awesome job
Thanks man!
A few years ago we heard all the OG DJs completely lose it about the SYNC button lol. Since then, I have seen a ton of talented DJs post mixes, and I've seen almost ALL of them use sync!
I've heard DJs describe SYNC as a crutch... but everybody knows crutches can also be used as stilts! Stand tall! And do you!
Love eating you video as being a self taught mobile dj I love learning new thing an the way you explain an break stuff down it’s very easy to catch on an learn an i can’t speak for everyone but I be ready to jump in an out extra time into practice thank you so much looking forward for more knowledge wish I can be hands on side by side with you in person to soak up more knowledge
Glad to help!
(Number 1 & 5) I will used them the most. (1 & 5) are suited for you skill set.

Fingerdrumming is a great idea, very cool
J'adore Crossfader
Lawrence and Crossfader is always on point. Through your videos, I decided on what entry controller to buy(SB3), learned how to mix through your online school and intermediate videos then felt confident to upgrade to 1000SRT. If you've stumbled upon this video and want easy to follow videos/lesson, become a student of Crossfader
So grateful you've been on this journey with us Tyson. Awesome to know that you have been levelling up!
Hey Tyson. We loved this comment and would love to hook you up with some merch! Could you drop us an email at info@wearecrossfader.co.uk with the title 'Merch Giveaway' and we can get your personal details from you, Many thanks! Crossfader
