Hi Luis 👋What are the chances?! We hope you had a great time Guatemala, it is such an amazing country 🇬🇹💛Thank you for the awesome comment, we really appreciate it 🙌
I just came back from Central America and booked Maya Papaya after watching your video! I loved the dorm in room 7! Chill vibes. Great staff and over awesome hostel!
Thanks Ryan and Abby 🙌 It was a great spot and while the hotel itself was great, the people working there were so kind 😊 They will definitely be our go to spot when we are back in Antigua ✈️🧳🇬🇹
Nice video. Great places to stay, but what about Hotel Casa Santo Domingo in Antigua ? I think that one is the most amazing hotel in Antigua, Guatemala.
Hello Juan 👋 Thank you for watching and for leaving us a comment 🙌 Hotel Casa Santo Domingo looks like a beautiful hotel too. We appreciate the recommendation and will have to check it out next time we are in Antigua 😊
Juan, Hotel Casa Sto Domingo should NOT be missed just to see it. It is the finest high end hotel in Antigua. Pricey though around $200 a night. It is easy to find and just walk in to tour. DonT miss it! The garden has parrots, a view of their elegant pool, then the ruins of a chapel where socialite lujo (luxurious) weddings are held and tucked in NEXT to the chapel in the back, is a cute candlemaking shop and other little museum like shops which are fun. Check out the shops in the underground tunnel to the parking garage too. The food USED to be good at Sunday brunch at the hotel, but those days are gone too much tourism...way too expensive for what you get. Better to take the van up to their OTHER GREAT restaurant Tenedor Del Cerro which is the number one, not to be missed spot, in Antigua and tourists RARELY even find it, so lucky you me telling you about it. There are several small museums there, some of the BEST food for breakfast or lunch in town not too pricey and enough little shops, buying tables of tipica, museums, sculptures on the grounds even a huge cage of varied birds on the grounds to keep younentertakned for hours. DONT MISS the astiundingly beautiful birdseye views above Antigua of the roofs and Volcan Fuego and Acatenango off in the distance. This is a FAR safer and more beautiful panorama of Antigua than the cross. That place is an almost full day excursion by itself, half day easily, especially combined with a delicious meal...a never to be forgotten place and especially loved by locals, artists like me and photographers...you will NOT be disappointed. One quick excursion some other day outside of town is a visit by tuk tuk to La Azotea a working coffee finca in Jocotenango, a town just outside Antigua five mintes away. There you can go for just a few questzales on a self guided tour explaining the workings of a traditional highland Guatemalan coffee finca...signs explaining the processing and growing, harvesting, drying and cleaning in English and Spanish. Taste the delicious coffee in the gift shop. The coffee for sale is gourmet quality and makes nice gifts and is 20 to 50% cheaper there in the gift shop than in the Antigua gift shops. See, no need for an expensive tour or guide or $50 excursion...youll have the best activites Antigua has to offer from a local's mouth....purely for the love of sharing this beautiful place that has been my home for many years. Great question 👍 Since we do a ton of research for our travels, I would say that if someone said that, we would look into that food, and restaurant, a bit more to see if it is the right choice for us 😃Hope that answers your question.
Thanks for sharing. Is so rich and beautiful the United Kingdom of Guatemala established since 1609 and that extends from El Soconusco (today Chiapas) to part of Panama. Guatemala is 12th producer of silver in the world and 20th producer of gold besides having massive reserves of nickel, jade and so many other natural resources too bad for almost a century big foreign multinational corporations have been taking almost everything. The Malvinas belong to Argentina, The Esequibo belongs to Venezuela and Belice belongs to Guatemala. God bless
Hello Hugo 👋Thank you so much for taking time to leave us such a thoughtful comment. We loved Guatemala and while we learned a lot while we were there, the information you shared with us we did not know. Very interesting and thank you for sharing. God bless 🙌
No Hugo the Guatemalan politicians many years ago sold off Belice to Belize sadly. I have sailed all the outer cayes on my sailboat and often thought how incredible the coastline COULD be with Guatemalan investment. Of course as a sailor I prefer having those cayes all to my selfish self to anchor behind, swim and dive the outer reef in private pristine PRIVACY like some spoiled billionaire. I guess they are at least preserved for posterity. Still, all the mainland beach places would make fantastic resorts ala the Yucatan and bring in billions of revenue for the Guatemalan people, hah who am I kdding, that is only theroretical. No the politicans would scape it all into their European and Panamanian bank accounts like Roxanna Baldetti did with HER Honduras resort purchased with Guatemalan public money. The politicans will NEVER change. Now the US ones are just the same, the ruling political families in the USA: the Clintons, Bushes, Bidens, Trumps not leaving a single one of my OWN corrupt politicans out.
@@latinaalma1947 not true. No politician or crook queen or king can sale not even a kilometre of a nation's land. Belice by law and history is 100% Guatemalan territory.

Hi Cheff Jeff 👋 Thank you for leaving us this question 🙌 At the time, it was around $50 - $60 USD. Depending upon when you are traveling that could fluctuate some. Hope this helps and we hope you have an amazing trip to Guatemala 🧳✈️🇬🇹
Guatemala is so beautiful, rich, unique and magical. I am dying to visit Guatemala again. God bless

Of course, the rooms were between $50-$60 per night. Hope that helps 😊
