Amazing machine. Great mastery of this instrument.
@@evelic thank you! 😊
you definitely desserve a better recognition for your music. not a million tube, but a very agile and precisely chiseled amount of work, week by week. 👏🙏❤
@@Bentusiii Thanks for the nice comment ❤️
Love it. I have both an esx and emx at the heart of my own setup and absolutely love what they are capable of.
Thanks!
That's cool! I've never tried an esx. Do you use them at the same time or separately?
Nice fresh sounds!
Thanks!
So glad I found this, beautiful sounds my brother. I've literally just bought this machine.
Thanks!
Nice! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)
The EMX-1 is very special.... Thanks for sharing man, excellent work...
Thanks for listening!
I agree, the EMX-1 is great!
one of my favourites of yours, thanks!
Thanks, this is one of my favourites I've done too!
This is wonderful! I miss my EMX1 😢
Thanks! I'm sorry you miss your EMX-1. Did you replace it with something else?
Oeehh..Nice!! 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
Thanks Marc!
This is rad dude, my roommate has the mx and I got so addicted to it I purchased the sx lol.
Thanks!
Nice! I haven't tried the esx but I imagine it would be lots of fun based on my experience with the emx.
This is really good.
Thank you!
Beautiful Session 🍀
Thank you!
sounds good
Thank you!
really nice...
Hey, thanks again :)
Way back in the day I had an red electribe. Nice work.
Steve Njavro Thanks Steve!
Did you have an esx-1? Those look like fun.
@@Treenote I did. But I sold it, with a ton of guitar peddles. All of which I regretted. Such is life. Now I have a modular and other machines. Keep up the good work!
@@stevenjavro2038 Ah, I'm sorry you regretted selling some of your gear. True, such is life. Glad you got some new stuff since!
Thanks, I will :)
I'm using the emx 1😍❤️
Would you consider doing an instructional video on how you compose with the EMX-1? You make the kind of stuff I want to make...
Hi Ryan, that's a really nice compliment. Thanks!
Yeah, I've considered making instructional content at some point. I don't really have time right now but I'll hopefully get around to it eventually.
Here are some quick emx-1 tips though. Hopefully you might find them helpful:
- use an external keyboard to write your sequences (I use a Korg R3 which is great because it can output it's arpeggiator)
- I like using the 'mod delay' for ambience on the emx. In this track mod delay is adding most of what makes the drums interesting.
- Most of the synth sounds I use on the emx are just using the waveform voice mode. Mod delay adds the vintage feel and ambience rather than using more complex synthesis.
- for chords I write each note individually as its own synth part. If I need to filter it together I will use the filter in the fx section
- Use the motion sequencer on the 'roll' button to make more interesting drum patterns!
- If you have enough audio inputs in your sound card, send you kick and bass line out outputs 3 and 4 instead of main. This makes it possible to add a good reverb to your main output without muddying your bass frequencies. It also makes it easier to improve your mix after recording. It's worth noting that I didn't do this back when I recorded in this track but usually do it nowadays.
- I normally try and stick to one pattern for the kind of music I make on my emx. I don't find the emx transitions patterns as smoothly as other gear (like Elektron stuff).
@@Treenote HUGELY helpful man. Please keep making music and posting. You are great!
@@RyanSommer Glad it was helpful!
Thanks! Reading that made my
Day.
No plans to stop anytime soon 🙂
am i dreaming, or there a normal human using a korg electribe emx1 ??? ... you are lucky, now this is sold at a "dr**'s price"
Last I checked I'm an average human. Haha
Are these expensive now? I paid $350 CAD for mine around 4 years ago.
@@Treenote I've Just bought one for christmas and I paid around 570 usd (~767 cad) for it.
It's interesting to know it was that cheap 4 years ago.
@@balint2559I just paid £600 for a mint SD version.
