    My wife got this for me for Father's Day and I'm in love with it. And her. I love both of them. But not equally, I love my wife, much much more. Here are five things you didn’t know about the new Tissot PRX Chronograph. These are my opinions, and let me caveat this with the fact that I'm still in the honeymoon phase. Hope you enjoy the video.
    This watch has sparked and waved flames on two debate that have captured the hearts and minds of enthusiasts since this years watches and wonders. Do I care if a watch I very much love, is very much thick? The Tudor black bay pro was the spark and this is the gasoline. The second debate is on the best automatic chronograph, under $2,000. Maybe even under $2500 or more. Go look for the most affordable automatic chronograph you can find. Is it thinner than this? Okay, is it an accurate movement? Okay, is it as good looking as this? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you are probably looking at a quartz watch which isn’t automatic, a vintage piece on eBay or a watch that wasn’t made in Switzerland, Germany, Japan or France. Join these debates, how thick is your thickest watch, does that keep you from loving it? Leave a comment with your favorite automatic chronograph and tell me the price and the thickness. What’s the best automatic chronograph under $3k. This has my vote. Let’s take a look at the dial.
    This blue is from Star Trek. The vertical brushing creates a holographic dial like nothing I have ever seen before. Every time you look at it, It transforms- in different lighting, at different angles, and of course at different times of day. The only thing that doesn’t change is this stellar contrast and legibility against this brilliantly silver framed off white subdials. Sometimes it’s a navy blue that May look black and make for a very handsome reverse panda. Or it’s a royal blue, like a dim cerulean in sunlight. It’s beyond vibrant, it feels technologically advanced and interesting. With a linen dial you can become familiar with the pattern of the designer dial. Not here- this brushing will bring a lifetime of visual interest at every glance.
    The pushers are flexible yet confidence inspiring. By flexible if you can see here, they can move slightly which brings me joy because it means when you push these while at different angles, the mechanism is forgiving. What do I mean by that. With some pushers, if you do it at an angle, it can bend or damage the pusher and make it loose. With these, they really operate like futuristic buttons on a spaceship (and look like it too!) let’s talk confidence: When you push this pusher it clicks with confidence like that click when you lock your front door, it’s a purposeful sound that elicits intentionality and only comes with high quality movements and construction. You can’t operate this chronograph by accident and I’m in love with that.
    Instagram: ‪@KnifeWatch‬
    It’s not all sundials and rainbows, right? There are two features of this watch that you will either love or hate. This helium escape valve will not save you or your watch’s life because this is not a helium escapement. You gotta push this button to change the date. If you’re a klutz you might scratch your own watch case or if you’re the kind of person a la Jack Forster of Hodinkee, who enjoys a spectrum of multivariate engagements with your watch you’ll fall in love this intimate feature you only get with beautiful mechanical timepieces.
    The packaging is 100% recyclable. Good job Tissot. Complaining about this packaging is just complaining about environmental sustainability for the earth which is awkward. I get it, this is luxury, you want to have the best of the best. Yet at less than $1800, this watch, with its finishing, it’s legibility, it’s traditional yet futuristic case with best in class movement, in my opinion, not it’s packaging,
    My person opinion: This is the most stylish and perhaps best looking watch Tissot has ever released. It’s a science fiction watch with innovation to empower its vintage pizazz. The PRX quartz doesn’t hit all the markers and is missing a framed date window that the pm80 has. The pm80 has the beloved waffle dial yet is a bit tame. This has provenance both in the movement and In these intricate subdials. They opened photoshop, selected this bezel and case and dragged it to enlarge it so the proportions are still decadent and just right yet with even more shine and bling from the polished edges and more sophistication imho.
    May be the best you can do under $2000. Leave a comment and let me know how you feel about this watch.

    First, I love your review. It is spot on, "the value, the statement a watch makes and price" helps sell someone on this watch. I have a PRX and people come up to be all the time to tell me they love my watch. A Tissot is like that out going friend that helps you in business and social circles. So it is important to invest in yourself and your image.

    One thing's for sure. It doesn't look like an $1800 watch, not on paper, nor on the wrist. Is it the best valjoux... I mean value for money? Yes, yes, yes. I've handled $6k chrono watches that this PRX would eat for breakfast. I own a P80 version, blue dial, and it just stands out in my collection like a jewel.

    I had a Hamilton Spirit of Liberty chronograph. Beautiful silver sunray dial, but since it's derived from a Valjoux 7750, it was thick. I traded it and still miss it but couldn't get it to fit right on my round 7.25" wrist. Amazing value for the price (< $700 new during Black Friday). I love the design on this Tissot but don't think I could pull it off.

    I have a question. Is it true that the powermatic P80 movement on the white dial PRX doesn t have any durability throughout the years? I ve heard that the movement last as long as the warranty, is it true? Plus an other HUGE CON is that these kind of movements are not serviceable, what about this? Really hyped up about these Tissot watches, but these facts make me back down. What s your take on this?

    Great video! I own the 40mm Gold Quartz PRX and like the 222 videos from it.
    This chrono is great and good value for the money, I have several chronos with the same movement. My favorite chrono for $1700 is my FC manufacturers chronograph with a black gray dial and rose gold.... a patek homage and beautiful in its own right! I got a refurbished model on eBay for $1700, normally they are about $4000.00. It’s also an in-house movement with an alligator strap. BUT this Tissot is a great value and beautiful watch, worth getting and looks more expensive than it’s $1700.

    • @KnifeWatch
      @KnifeWatch  Год назад +1

      It will fit your wrist and look great because, technically the watch doesn't have a lug-to-lug like traditional watches. The bigger question is if you love the look of that dial. Even a large person with a large wrist would agree its a bigger watch but if you love this watch with it's incredible proportions, unbeatable dial and amazing value proposition, you're going to love every second of looking at your wrist.

    I mean to say $1750 is a luxury watch is pushing the word “luxury”. I want this watch but it’s an ultra entry luxury watch at that price. But a very expensive Tissot. Also the box is on par with the price. The money was spent on the watch. You don’t need a box to be as nice as a Rolex or Omega with a Tissot. And lastly at this moment I still think the white dial is nicer and need to see both in person.
