- We went out after a 4 inch snowfall earlier in the day to capture action in the snow. We observe some LIRR action at the Jamaica hub including an alcohol train for ice/snow removal. Other trains are seen negotiating the white stuff. We then headed out to North Elizabeth NJ on the NE Corridor and got some Amtrak and NJT action. It was a chilly day today and it didn’t take long before my fingers turned to ice.
Jamaica Station surroundings have physically changed and so have the trains…but it’s still good old Jamaica. Fantastic video especially to see with the snowfall. Nice to see North Elizabeth too!
Snow scenes on the rails turn me on. I just hate shoveling it.
As always, watching this "simple" rail offering is like enjoying "hot soup" on a cold winter's day. Thank you for sharing these simple pleasures. This is Peter; out!
Fascinating look into railfanning in snow. Thanks Tim👍💚
Trains in snow is one of my favorite things to watch. Even better is to be inside of one while it snows outside. Just the thought of being all warm and cozy inside a train while it snows outside is very relaxing to me.
Just finished watching your Airtrain rfw video and before that for like the fourth time, your Metro-North rfw video.
Hope you get to do another Metro-North rfw video, but during the day time.
Snow patrol train sounds like some OT maker there.
Nice transition 19:13
fantastic
Well, these are nice glimpses of the New York winter. We don't have winter in Berlin anymore, temperature today is 10 degrees Celsius. Thanks for the pictures of the ALP-46. The German Class 101, from which the ALP-46 was developed, is slowly being phased out at DBAG and replaced by ICE trains. Last week another 10 machines went to the company bender in leverkusen for scrapping. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven
I can’t believe that it wouldn’t snow in Berlin anymore. Das ist nicht sehr gut. Schnee Uber Alles. Ja!!!!
@@3985uprr I like snow too. the 06.01.2024 was the last day that we have snow in Berlin.
5:57 I was at Jamaica at around 14:40 on 2/17, and also saw this equipment
Cool shots! Sound like they keep lirr running rain shine or snow
I applied to be a conductor there and they told us that is EXACTLY what they do
NJ Transit needs to clear the snow off that platform
Do all those LIRR trainsets need to be that long for passenger volume or is it just too much trouble to break them up?
Most of them are all fully occupied but many are not. Deadhead cars
Wow how do you get the stamina to go railfan all over the country??
I don’t know, but I think it’s taking its toll
@@3985uprr BTW your buddy conductor Paul was on eyewitness news just now
5:35 XD Drunk MP15AC's
😂
I laughed at that, too, though I remember the bar cars on evening commutes. Some folks were poured off at their stops. Many years ago.
I wonder how old these engines are?
Which ones?
