Your videos are fantastic and very informative. I fish Lake Whitney in TX. I just started Deadsticking. One day with a guide was great..40 - 50 Stripers. I went again, marked tons of shad and stripers. Lockjaw...driftin .7 to .9. It was after a cold front..should i have slowed down to .4 or 5 to grt the biting.
Thanks for watching our videos. Speed is as important or more than the bait and depth at times, so you could be right. We rarely catch fish going faster than .7 when it’s cold.

It’s a Traxtech pole and mount for the pole. I need to send the mount in. It scored on the inside and it doesn’t move easily as it should. I’m sure it was a fluke. But they are heavy duty. I’ve forgotten it and started to get on plane before realizing and it still good. The screws though aren’t long enough on the pole so we put extra screw behind it to keep it in place it kept coming loose. So I would for sure ask for more screw. And if you call in, use their dealer line. I called their normal line like 10 times over a month period and never received a call back, then I used the dealer extension and they picked up right away.
I just got my Thumper, rigged up a Splasher. Went put yesterday on Lake Whitney, tried Deadsticking..lots of Striper looks on Livescope..caught 4 on small minnows.

Yes they should. If not Foss lake then Canton Lake. It’s a busy time at work but I’ll try and break free to go out and hopefully give you a report.
I always wondered about that, some people I've seen rig them upside down and some not. Didn't know if there was any reasoning behind it. Thought about trying it one day but my O.C.D kicks in and doesnt allow it lol. Guess I'll have to give it a shot
I hear you on rigging it upside down. It does go through more baits that way, but I’ll take that over not catching fish.
@BooneBoys no doubt! I got a few molds, I usually just take the torn baits and melt them down and repour them. Kids really enjoy doing it and experimenting with colors and scents.
What kind of bibs are you wearing? Looking for a good pair for fishing
Ive got Cabelas Guidewear. I’ve had them for about 10 years. If you keep an eye out on eBay you can find good deals. I bought my dad a set of bibs and jacket for $175 that were like new.

Honey Do's are killing me. I planned to go last Thursday but all the family activities kept me from getting chores done, so I had to sacrifice my days to "Honey Do's".
I will say, if make your hook exit the bait a bit earlier it will cause that little hump in the middle.
IMO it would be tough to do on flukes because they have the open belly.
I know this bad its karma but I out fish everyone 3 to 4, to their one. I have no clue as to the why. When people fish with me every is exactly the same. We use my rods and from my guiding days all rods, reels, line and hook rigging are the same!
I do watch the depth finder constantly, so I know the exact depth the fish are and the depth they are at. I normally make a call out to everyone what I see but I will be the one who hooks up the majority of the time.
I fish with the same guys so when I say something about fish being under the boat or what depth they are, they start crowing at me that I'm about to catch one...then they are like "see I told you!"
I tell them I can feel the fish "sniffing" on the bait so I'm ready when they bite! 😂
lol. My uncle team normally does hook them pretty short where they really droop. You’re right, they are harder to hook that way and they do rip out easier. But I’ve seen him for years and he’s about the only one in the boat that consistently out fishes me.
Appreciate the tip on the flukes, heading out in an hour or two myself. I don’t think the zoom flukes I use can go upside down but I’ll see if I have any others that can.
Have you had a chance yet this season to give that high-low spinshot setup I showed you a go or just hasn’t been windy enough yet to make it worthwhile? It’s been killing it on Sooner the last few times.

@@BooneBoys I’ve only ever gotten 1 striper at Sooner, and that was in the summer trolling an umbrella rig using a diving board. It’s mostly sandies and hybrids with the occasional sauger mixed in. But hey, maybe today will be the day!
I took the video down for the spinshot setup a couple months ago, but if you need it again for reference I can re-upload if you wish.
Some tips: keep the two spinshot hooks right at 12 inches apart, and the bottom spinshot right at 12 inches above your sinker. That way if your sinker is bouncing bottom either bait will be right at the magic “1 to 2 cranks up” we all rely on.
Also when you’re putting your fluke on I typically have to trim about a half inch or so off the nose to fit depending on the brand. I’m usually using zoom flukes since they have that hollow body with the slit meant for that kind of hook with the 90 degree bend. Magic sauce (scent) absolutely makes a huge difference.
