Amazing cover (as usual) - love the breaks as you said and imho they are even highlighted & more visible on your acoustic version.Secondly - completely agree with you that SY doesn't have bad record.I used to say when I was asked "which one is the best ?" with "Every Sonic Youth record is the best".For me - I don't know much more bands which I can classify this way.So my favorite is hard to say :).I would say Goo (I didn't hear demos but still love this one) & Dirty probably then Evol & rest :)
@CanadianChronic2121 - Do it. They rock so crazy. Everything song on that record seems ridiculous cool. And if you put Goo on the stereo afterwards everything just falls to the floor. Goo could be cool but instead ended up as some experiment. They (SY) should have put Blow Job on the street entitled Goo in my opinion.
@CanadianChronic2121 - Absolutely. It's amazingly raw. Really dusty, noisy and thrashing in the ear: LOVE! :) I think the song "Number One" (called Disappearer on Goo) and "Cinderella's Big Score" must be my favorites.
@disnukka79 - Yes agreed, all the breaks makes this one pretty interesting. The newest three albums are the ones that I've listened the least to so taking them one at a time and cover the songs I find interesting is sort of a thrilling ride. I mean, I know almost the entire SY catalogue by memory so it's pretty fun to discover these songs and feel them grow slowly on me. Almost done with Nurse, then it's gonna be Ripped :) Hope you're doing good my friend.
@krty1 - Thanks a lot for input, really appreciated! It seems like the songs opens up in another way when using acoustic as you mention. It's like getting a new version with new elements that may have been sort of hidden behind the walls of noise or sound or whatever. The only band/act I can think of that never has made a bad thing must be Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti or Godspeed You! Black Emperor or Labradford or, or, or. So many actually haha. You should try the demos for Goo - they rock! :)
@CanadianChronic2121 - Well, I honestly think that they've never made a bad record. For me, it's all about context. Almost every single SY-song can have it's moment. But if I should somehow list the top SY-album I must say Sister just followed by Blow Job, the demos for Goo. How about you?
sulky Thanks a lot Sulky - appreciated! Just trying my best! :) I mostly have found lots of the tunings on the SY dot com page but some of them I just couldn't make use of or get to make any sense so I did a lot of impro on my hand and tried to combine Thurston and Lee's guitars into one mass. But the tunings that was alright I did use and along with a lot of listening it was just to follow along with some practice :) Mostly by ear as well.
@boozeesurfs1 - Thanks a lot buddy, appreciate it! Everyone can do it. There's no tricks. Just some time alone with the guitar and som SY in the background. I'll help you all the way :) Thanks!
+Raaven Stark Thanks a lot! Appreciated!I have a thing, a musical act going on with a friend. We call our project: Muscle Angel. You can find it on soundcloud :)

Dude, nvanliforp, you are the best! How do you find the tabs and tunings for SY songs? Do you just arrange them by ear?
