Took my 2nd attempt in October and got a 1510!!! (780 english 730 math) Thank you so much, your videos were super helpful and I'm very thankful for them.
I have to give it to John; he is an amazing teacher. My only wish is that most of our tutors here in Nigeria will be as good as he is at teaching. He makes his teaching short and understandable, even if he is fast; he manages to carry everyone along.
Hi, I'm also a Nigerian attempting the SAT. I gave up on Local teachers for the SAT because I find RUclips is really the most effective way to study. When are you planning on taking the SAT? and what's your target score? I'm taking the March SAT and My target score is 1540.
For the last question, you could find the y coordinate of the vertex of the parabola using -b/2a and that'd be your answer since the horizontal line would have to be going through the vertex, thats the only way it would only pass through once and not twice.
I really love your videos. they cover the concepts which I need help with and there is one more thing I want to request you to do if possible. I cannot remember things I go through even if I write them down and to feel more confident that I have understood the concept I need some questions.so maybe there are other students out there struggling with the same thing so can you also include some questions at the end so that students can solve them and asses themselves.
In problem #4 that begins at 10:45, your sketch of the graph is incorrect, and your reasoning is incomplete. The lead coefficient is negative, so the graph would open downward. The question is asking for the y-coordinate of the vertex since you need to find a horizontal line that is tangent to the parabola. This is a calculator problem. Desmos or a graphing calculator could solve this quickly without the possibility of a computation error from your method or from using the first derivative set to 0 and then solving for y.
For the discriminant questions, why did u put only 1 x intercept for both answers even though one discriminant was negative and the other was positive. Wouldnt that mean one has zero x intercepts and the other has two?
hey how do you solve this: f(x)=ax^3+bx^2+cx+d. The value of f(-1) is 7. Which is true about f(x) a) x+1 is a factor of f(x) b) x-7 is a factor of f(x) c) The remainder when f(x) is divided by (x+1) is 7 d) The remainder when f(x) is divided by (x-7) is -1
a. plugging 'c' into a function is the same thing as dividing the function by (x-c). Since you get 7 when you plug -1 into the function, its the same thing as dividing the function by (x-(-1)) aka (x+1). Therefore, f(x) / (x+1) = 7 and this means that (x+1) evenly divides f(x) 7 times, aka its a factor of f(x).
@@matswu Yeah, pretty sure it's C. There's something called the remainder rule that says if you were divide the polynomial by x-(x-value), which in this case it's -1, the remainder would end up being the corresponding y-value (in this case, 7). So, if you were to plug in the given x-value in this problem, it would be x-(-1), which is where the (x+1) is coming from. And, going by the rule, the remainder would be 7. Dunno, I recently learned about this, so not sure if I'm right.
@@HiJuliaSpeaking as i expected it to tbh, results arent out yet but i gotta say the practice tests in bluebook are very very similar in terms of hardness levels, pretty much the mark you get there is what to expect from the real test.
no because I think u r saying that the 9 will change its sign when we move it to the other side of the equation therefore the equation will be -9=-8a so -9/-8 is 9/8
You speak too fast, that was so hard to understand what you wanted to say, so this video was not useful. For describing a math you need to now hot to speak firts.

(780 english 730 math)
Thank you so much, your videos were super helpful and I'm very thankful for them.
How did you get a 780 in English? please reply
Bro you’re insane at English all you have to do is get better at math and get a 800 in math and you’ll get a 1580/1590.
Omg, 780 in English?? Wow man
just work hard
I need that 730 in Maths so bad rn.
we watching this not even 1 day before my SAT exam
8 hours beforey sat 😂🥱
same here
Good luck. 2 days left for my December gang!
Same here

@@justinanwasor7211 I will be taking the may SAT. My target score is 1600, a perfect score. Where in Nigeria are you located?
yes nigerian SAT tutors suck. I had to do youtube learning myself
Thank you, got 760 in Math in November's SAT
Got my exams tomorrow and getting this video as recommend is a blessing for me ! Thank you so much JOHN
what did u get and did these help
im rlly soo happy that i found ur channel before my SAT tmao. thaks soo much man

Thanks for the refresher!
Good point! Thanks for sharing
I got a 790 Math on November SAT! Thanks John!
Hi, John! The vedeo was really informative. In few minutes, you teach excactly what I needed. Thank a lot.
First comment and my sat is on this Saturday wish me luck
Good luck
You gonna smash it by God's grace
Good luck man. I'm taking the SAT this Saturday too. I hope both of us get high scores.
Good luck people, i am taking the SAT this saturday ,as well
I wish to all of us the good luck , mine is also on Saturday
same here tho i feel like i did not study as much as other people. only had like half a month. Well wish u guys all the best

Bro is better than teaching sat math than any teacher ive been with
🙏
Use differentiation for finding the vertex , it will be really easy to
Bro is out here saving lives
these were my weakness thank you John
hey john could you please show how to convert an equation to vertex form plus nice video btw
I somehow feel more and less confident about the SAT now

5:31 why is -b/2a equal to -a/2 as in where did the -a come from?
Wondering too. have u found the answer
a is in front of the x, which is the ax^2+ **b**x + c in the quadratic formula. and 1 is next to x^2 so 2 multiplied by 1.
can you please tell more about the vertex form that where did you find the -25 from.
can we use desmos at 11:30? i tried but couldnt get a slider
Yes
Put A= to anything of your choice and then the slider will come up
5:49 cant we make a simultaneous equation and solve it isnt that faster???
for question 5:51 after finding x =-1 i solved it by using the formula (x-1)^2+b and expanding it to get 2x is this approach fine to use
Every thing is very helpful in this video but the theory of Viet is more effective and much easier.
BIG THANK YOU
bro thank u so much for the lesson
I am really scared i haven't even got to 1000 i am still stuck with 860,830,900,810 and i am freaking out because my SAT Is on December 2nd and i am 😔
Hey! How did it go?
For number 10, if x^2-4x+8 has no real roots, then how can we find the product of the roots?
not sure, I don't think it has roots
i love you so much thank you
how is this for the augest sat when it was posted 9 months ago?
When finding the number of intersection at one point can the answer be zero?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you John , this was highly needed

I think the answer is -9/8 11:45
no because I think u r saying that the 9 will change its sign when we move it to the other side of the equation therefore the equation will be -9=-8a so -9/-8 is 9/8
He simplified the -36/8 by dividing the numerator and denominator by 4 to get -9/2 not -9/8
i turned the roots into (x-4)(x+6) and got x^2+2x-24, is there a down side doing it this way?
I did the same thing, and it was lowkey faster than what he did so it should be fine lol
that method is faster and worked for this question, but wouldn't always work. i would recommending knowing both methods to be safe. Good work.
