If anyone watching this video is considering a cargo cruise, stop dreaming and just do it! I was on an 800 TEU container feeder earlier this year for a three day trip and LOVED it!
I love Bodewes shipyard because I worked last year more than 5 months. Best atmosphere and good management

Stunning! ... an incredible design ... she’s got gorgeous lines, especially her beveled bow. 👍🏼 ✨🏆✨💕

That bow shape is most interesting, derived apparently from the Ulstein X-bow, but made without so much compound curving, probably reducing fabrication costs. I noticed thet VIGOR is going to make new U.S. Coast Guard cutters with the X-bow shape, but perhaps they'll notice this, investigate, and follow the lead of Bodewes. We'll see.
Great Holland made ship..great design and engineering..
Beautiful Ship!
Nice to see the Dutch are still in Businesses.
Won't be long till they make a Roll On Roll Of system for Containers.
Like they made on Trailers(Kettingbaan)...Loading Unloading with Chain conveyors.
Greetings!
Why did I just watch a commercial for a cargo ship
Magic ship ....
Happy sailing...!
Only 7 feet under the keel !
Magic and jeweler's work !
Very interesting video !
I'm impressed....!
Thank You very much !

Flared bows are necessary for small boats but not ships. The Piercing bow design splits the wave and adds to stability.
A beautiful ship.
Nice!
I noticed near beginning of video when the bow portion @ 1:15 of the hull was swung out to be welded up ship builders built this ship similar to *WWII Liberty Ships.* The same concept (pre fab) was used during the Alaskan pipeline project.
Pretty much all ships are built in sections
my milk carton boat also does really well on friendly seas
Good ship
I'll take 1 on the 2 years, $100 -biweekly payment program!
I wonder if they would accept orders for megayachts.
Someone didn't tick the DE-INTERLACE option button on the video editing program. Video footage that was shot as conventional interlaced material will do weird things as we see on incorrect moving field order sequences and compiling to a make a Progressive format video....
Whoa Daisy, whoa...
It is good vessel.
A stern anchor? Very interesting.
well the vessel is called the ual AFRICA, then you do want to have a stern anchor, trust me, you'll need it in Africa
With 0.9% financing up to 60 months.
I'll take two, do they take bottle caps yet as payment..?
Green stamps.
LOL
IDK what this is referring to but if its for my.mom it better be a golden ticket before Wonka shows.up
I want one
what is the water being pumped out at the bow?
2021-02-20 , kl. 09 (UTC+1) Hello Gregson ! Probably they flush the anchors with seawater to clean them. If they have gripped in claybottom it takes a while before the clay is away.
Swedish: Förmodligen spolar de ankarna med havsvatten för att rengöra dem. Om de har tagit tag i lerbotten tar det ett tag innan leran är borta.

@@tomasgidlof9545 God dag, Tomas. (i hope that is correct) Thanks for the information (i am in Boston Massachusetts.)
With just the upper bow design they put a smaller engine? The bottom of that still the same. The only difference is it doesn't make splashes, and it doesn't lighten the load. The smaller the engine the more it needs to perform in high RPM to meet the desired speed and power.
@Ian Gannon hi sir ,I'm just wondering how come this doesn't do 35 kts.?
@@kenlee-97 coz it has small engine and the bow doesn't actually cuts through waves. It actually creates waves as it pushes the water. Unlike those ships with bulbous bow that cacels waves.
@@gerardvoughnfaust4167 bulbous bow is overrated though. It only works at one speed. 2 knots more or less will make it use more fuel.
I’d like to order one In purple, is shipping included?
depends on... your purchase its via amazon, ebay or the web page of the builder??
Save money - pick it up from the shipyard and sail it home yourself!
So the Vikings were right in the first place.
yes... the vikings were right in the manner of how design the bow of the ship.
@@laislabella 021-02-20 , kl. 09 (UTC+1) Hello Gabriel !
At that time the MEN were made of steel.
Therefore they could use wooden boats.
Today the men need boats of steel.

Highly optimized ships, lower fuel consumption, yet the price for shipping a container has increased. WTFF?
You need to talk with The Donald and his backstage pals on that one.

Well I'm convinced. Where can I find a dealer?
What you looking for... There's a new team over seeing all and every transfer of goods. And everyone might as well just void all the contracts they got already and start sending back her.minerals and consider yourself consider yourself extremely lucky.... Sorry if due respect. Not intended

Absolutely; it needs to happen as soon as possible but I'd rather just talk to you or have u translate at least
You say "Groot Crossbow" and I get a very different image in my mind. Let's just say it involves a raccoon. And it's awesome.
This boat doesn’t have one of throes big nobly poky thing.
Looking at the water condition after the transom at 0:20 there is a lot of slip and also curling and that is wasted power. The water behind the propeller should be lined up in line with the ship's movements and not to have curls and divergences as shows and it would be more efficient still. A little research would easily solve that requirement. Good luck. It is a nice ship but that bow loses some of the majesty and elegance of a traditional old fashioned bow. I would say that what you have is a very wet bow.
Actually, that bow is intended to increase wave making resistance for efficiency purposes. In short, it makes the bow slicker as it cuts through the water, reducing the overall resistance of the vessel and its wetted surface to movement forward. It is supposed to be particularly efficient in heavy sea states, as it does not impart energy to the oncoming wave, to produce spray and the tumblehome shape tends to minimize green water on the deck with significantly less pitch than a conventional or bulbous bow. And yes, it is a very wet bow. Many ships carrying this bow have an angled splash plate at the top to keep forward mounted bridges free of spray and water.
The inefficiencies you note are more a result of the propulsion plant/single screw design used which could be addressed by the use of ducted props or the new pump-jet designs.
every thing is eco nowadays
even when it's not
"I am Groot"
they should just use jon boats with 6 horses
So a new class of feeder ship?
Camel Tanker what do you feed it to.?
In international shipping, we tend to throw around terms even though not everyone knows what they mean. One of the terms we hear a lot in the shipping industry is “feeder vessel”. Although it sounds self explanatory, many people do not know what a feeder vessel actually is. In short, feeder vessels are the small ships that take shorter trips in and out of hub ports. Feeder vessels can be barges or just small ships. Many have their own cranes so they can load and unload containers on their own.
Feeders are the vessels that pick up shipping containers from the smaller ports that have less traffic and bring them to the larger vessels for their main voyage. This way the main larger vessel or “mother vessel” does not have to make so many stops and since feeders are usually smaller they can easily navigate the smaller ports. This is also why many of the have the cranes. Not all ports have the equipment needed to load containers so having cranes allow them to still service those ports.
Feeders also allow the proper loading of the mother vessels since they are loaded at a hub port. This makes for a smooth transfer of goods and there are fewer issues in loading safely for their way across the ocean. If a ship is not loaded right according to weights, the ship can be lopsided and can have trouble if they get caught in high seas.
Feeders are the main reason larger container shipping lines are able to service so many ports around the world. They continue to be an important part of the logistics process. From barges to smaller ships, feeders allow the shipping industry to service the entire world.

yeah, nice bow design, yeah, reduced fuel cost, yeah, efficient, yeah, innovative, but still nothing like dredgers or off-shore style vessels, far from. And the ships name tells it will travel to Africa? It will look like shit in no time..., African ports aren't friendly to this kind of fragile ships with high tech equipment

@@daos3300 You've missed the point. Nothing should be ugly and merely functional. Beauty is good for the heart and soul. And ugliness is bad for both.
