  • Play this slow movement lovingly appreciating each and every note. A slow movement must have nuance. The left triplets need to be subdued. The right hand melody is shaped across the bar line, with momentum carrying us forward. A few select notes are rung a little sweeter to highlight their beauty. Perhaps careful quarter pedal to warm the texture is ok in a few select places. Repeated notes have a light character. Arrival at the Eb is approached with care and determination. No rush at the end, let the energy dissipate gently. Voila a calm and nourishing slow movement for your heart.

Dear Joanne Parenteau, the movement patterns of the wrists and hands correspond to the sonorities. The use of these movement patterns reflects the transfer of the musician's interpretation and the changing moods of the music. Therefore, the interpretive performance of a piece and the technique of the wrists, hands, and fingers are inseparable. Thank you for bringing all your experiences to our classes to help us teach and interpret. Don't forget that pianists come and go, but the names of piano teachers remain forever. Orchestra conductor. One conductor said we have to make each note sing so we can make its inner life visible. I use my ears to guide my expression. My early teachers emphasized freedom in arms. Another tip I learn later was to sit far enough away from the keys as to have a larger perspective visually, and room to manoeuvre. Thanks for your encouragement!❤️

Dear Joanne Parenteau, the value of art is always based on the mastery and skill of the great masters and their way of thinking. Best wishes to my dear colleague and friend.
