I bought this bag only a few weeks ago and was so impressed with the quality I took advantage of an ongoing sale and went back and bought the bigger Kadet and the smaller ziptop waistpack. I'm using them for Fuji sized fixed lens cameras like XF-10/X100 series through to the X-E series ILC's. I solved the lack of inner organisation by using any number of Topo micro-pouches for my batteries, cables, cash and cards etc. These are slim profile but hold a surprising amount and have an end hook which allows me to carabiner them to the inner hook in the main compartment to avoid much movement. They also fit easily in the front pouch without eating into the main compartment space. The key factor for me with the Mini Kadet and Kadet is the width dimension fit my Fuji's with the camera lens facing the length of the sling, without appearing excessively bulky. I'm on the lookout for the black Tensile Hip-pack which has the advantage of the traditional seatbelt buckle, even lighter material and slightly different dimensions that will fit well with other Fuji camera/lens configurations. Totally sold now on Chrome as my preferred Sling bags.
I own maybe 5 (or 6, lol) Chrome bags right now and have had at least 2 for more than 4 years. QUALITY!! I own an older Niko Sling for camera/photography items, and the full sized Kadet Sling bag which, imo, is great for bicycle or motorcycle riders when tooling about the town. The Mini just didn't have enough space PLUS I love the "seatbelt" buckle on their bags which makes it easier to take off in a rush. Great review, Bo! 🙌🏾, I’m looking forward to the Belroy review!
Good review. I did a lot of research before I bought mine. I do street photography as well. I own a Fuji x100F and a film Minolta Hi Matic AF II that I carry around every day for my EDC cameras. I can fit both in there very well. However, I bought a Domke protective wrap to keep my Fuji in, inside the bag. I left the Domke wrap just the way it was out of the factory packaging and the Fuji fits in the wrap perfect. I just mainly wanted that wrap for extra protection. It works well and it keeps a few things I have in there from bumping the camera.
Totally agree with you on having organizations/compartments vs bulkiness/weights of the bag, especially when travelling, every grams count. But I'm still being greedy, hoping that I can find bags with good organizations made with thin yet durable inner linings & compartments xD
It's a really good product, but a big too big for me (i'm also 170 cm). I think the sweet spot for me is the aer city sling 2, it's big enough and it has a good amount of organization.
i really wanna buy this bag, it is just a really great problems, it is not ambidextrous. I am a lefty, so it is not comfortable at all to sling it on my left shoulders, because i already used to sling to right shoulders. I really hope it was at least have the lefty version, or just detachable strap so it can be switched
omg i also get headaches from certain bluetooth headphones... even some 5g wireless routers. lol people said i was crazy but glad to hear other people have similar experiences.
Thanks for the review, greetings aus Dortmund. It looks like it has the exo-mesh slash guard wiring integrated into the fabric - is that correct? If I'm right about that, I think it's worth a mention in relation to the security features. Just like that hidden pocket.
Needs more hellation! 💡lol I have the original Chrome Kadet, great everyday sling bag and I aways get compliments on the seatbelt strap. I can but a small camera cube in it so hold some gear but I would rather just stuff an x100V or XT10 with a pancake lens in it. But it definitely needs some organization
😂 Yeah. I went a little overboard. In hindsight I should have bought the 1/8th promist and not 1/4th 😂 Honestly, I'd love to buy the x100v. I gave my brother my x100s and kinda miss it
I like about 3L sling bags, when it gets to 5L it sticks out too much. I love my Atom by Pantagonia. I just picked up an 1L bag for pocket stuff for airline travel. That way I do not worry about what is in my pockets being left behind and I throw it on the belt through security.

Yeah, Chrome makes some solid stuff. This is my second chrome bag. On my motorcycle this definitely is amazing
Great review as always... I've had many sling bags in my lifetime and the one I go to most often is the chrome Kadet larger version...
Thanks, Stephen

I have one of those wraps as well. Great tool to quickly protect gear

👍👍
After a year does it still being water proof ? Have you noticed any problem on the fabric? Like un layering?
I wish they made one in between size. 5l, 7l, 9l.
Already pre-ordered Instinct’s Tech&Trek Sling with lots of organisations. Still waiting for delivery tho.
For a bag of this size, I would want a little more organization. Looks nice but its probably too big for my needs.
Same. Thanks for watching, mate 😉 ✌️

Yeah, it's a bit big. I will review a aer slingbag next
Thanks for this comment, same for me, I wanted the Kadet mini to be small enough for me, but no joy. The AER City Sling 2 looks about perfect for me.

I also wear it on my left shoulder although I am right handed. It wears pretty well in my experience
Sick bag! Side note, I love your purple long sleeve - Mind I ask where its from?
Thanks. I bought it a few years ago at Pull and Bear
omg i also get headaches from certain bluetooth headphones... even some 5g wireless routers. lol people said i was crazy but glad to hear other people have similar experiences.
Yeah. Its a really weird issue. But if you suffer from the same, I can highly recommend the beyerdynamic Bluetooth earbuds

I've been looking at this bag for years. My Birthday is coming up..🤔
Can't go wrong with a chrome bag as a birthday gift 😉
Needs more hellation! 💡lol

This us the greatest slingback that i bought. I added a strap from another slingback to stabilize the bag
That's a cool mod. I'm not a big fan of stabilizer straps on slingbags or messenger bags, but I can see how they can be quite beneficial
what kind of camera you have?
I shoot my videos with the bmpcc4k and a dji pocket 3
Can fit my GW690ii or Bronica S2A. 3rd Chrome bag and still hate the seatbelt buckles after a long day.

A one Liter bag for travel is a very good idea 👍
No slot for ipad mini?
Should fit in divider section of the main compartment. I have an 8 inch Huawei and it's right for that slot.
If it is not 100% waterproof then you would say water resistant
Was this video directed by David Hamilton? Geez. No need for the foggy effect filter.
😂 Yeah, in hindsight I should have bought the 1/8 promist filter. The 1/4 is way too strong. Thanks for the feedback
