This sling bag is geared towards EDC that includes a variety of different things. I've been using my Kadet for a couple of years now. I absolutely love it! I use it on my days off as well as for work.

What a great review GadgeDee, you helped my buying decision. You definately have a talent for showing the detail from a user perspective.
I love the material but most of all the solid seat belt buckle and strap adjustment/fit system. I'm a Fuji shooter and after experimenting how this works perfectly for me is using beer can sized semi rigid lens cases which perfectly fit an x100f, x-e2 or x-e3 and any prime lens up to the 1.4 size or the 18-55. The main compartment can hold 3 with a comfortable bit of spare space at the end for my mouse. I then put 3 Topo Designs Micro pouches along the front zipper compartment for the small stuff, 1 for batteries, 1 for cables and dongles and 1 for a small power bank. My Huawei Matepad 10 inch with keyboard case fits perfectly in the internal sleeve. This arrangement keeps the Kadet profile slim, protected and stops internal movement of stuff. Absolute winner street shooting for a day and stopping in a cafe for a rest and review images or surf.
I was lucky as there happened to be a big sale on, I was so impressed with the quality of the Kadet I went back and picked up the Mini as well their original Niko camera sling which must have been old stock as I don't think they make anymore and is different to the current one. For a more camera shaped dedicated sling this Niko is hands down perfect for my Fuji sized gear and preference for Tablets rather than laptops on the go now I have modded it with my Manfrotto CSC camera cube.
No more sling shopping for me now, I've found perfection :))

I’ve had my eye on this bag since using another sling backpack while riding a bike. The other bag rotated around while riding and I think the sternum strap would be the solution. I want the black and black chrome version and it only drops to about $90. Great video.

It just came today, but I haven't opened it yet. I wanted the black and black chrome version which was out of stock and Amazon just listed it. Once I receive that one I'll return this black and aluminum version.

Great review. Btw, shine a flashlight on the bag in the dark and see how those strap - stripes light up.
I use the third leg strap as I find the bag will gradually rotate down "satchel style" if you don't use it.

Mine just arrived. I was hoping for more pockets inside. Im not into all the flashy logo stuff either. Glad I found you!! The one on sale this time was the grey and red. Its low key though. Now to see what fits.

I wonder how the Niko bag stacks up for photo gear since it appears to have some padding.
Testing that out and will include it in my review.
Do you have any difficulty in tightening the shoulder strap? My other chrome bag is smooth as silk when tightening it, but my new Kadet is extremely difficult to tighten. I need two hands to do so and it feels like the edge of the strap is rubbing too much on the edge of the buckle slot.
I do not. The straps have been quite easy to use and adjust.
Okay so get ready for a long comment here. I love the bag. It seems like a great option for me as well cause I have my camera bag and it literally has all of my camera equipment in it. Lights, chargers, mics etc. This seems much more suited for when I am out and about and in addition to the camera and batteries, I believe I could fit my DJI Mini 2 Drone bag in there as well. You sold me on a small tripod before and I think I’ll get this as well.
On another note, since you’re with the Apple Family now; have you considered an AirTag for your EDC bag? I keep one tucked in an inside pocket(not visible from the outside) or my camera bag and I do the same with my luggage. Just interested to hear your thoughts on that as well. 😌 it's so nice to know I'm not the only one carrying pretty much everything with me. It's quite normal. 9L is a lot of space especially with this open designed sling bag. I have to say though, it seems like it may be a bag that holds it structure better when it's filled to the top. This is quite interesting, and I'm monitoring the structure closely. Ooh, how are you liking the DJI Mini 2 Drone? That Ulanzi tripod has not left my carry and been my primary tripod since I purchased it. Glad to know you're still liking it. 😊
Tbh I have not since I'm always in places where I can either keep my bag on or near me. But I will say you have sparked my curiosity especially now I'm traveling more often. I have enjoyed my Apple wallet so much that I can't see how I wouldn't appreciate an AirTag. Thanks for the review! Have been eyeballing this bag for some time as well. In researching both the Kaget and Mini Kadet, I've heard it mentioned but never actually shown... apparently the Mini Kadet has a Velcro closure compartment hidden in the U-lock pass-through area. Was wondering if you could confirm for me if this feature is present on the full-size Kadet as well?

I just found your review and had to subscribe to see more. I bought this very version of the Kadet sling bag a couple of weeks ago and I love it! I actually had to go back to Chrome Industries and get a mini metro messenger bag because, while it fits, the Kadet is a tight fit for when I have to bring along my Microsoft surface pro 7 so I use the messenger bag when I have to carry my surface around. I don't want to risk overstressing the Kadet as it's my EDC "man-purse". Lol
Why would one need multiple sling bags or messenger bags if they find one that can fit everything they carry on the regular? No criticism intended. I'm asking more because I have a need to help justify my desire to collect them myself, and an outside perspective would be appreciated. I have like four bags myself after I got the mini metro. 😅

Personally, I don't think purchasing one "forever" bag as your "All-in-One" carry fits everyone. If you find that you can enjoy and appreciate a variety of bags, then why not enjoy them? I have a couple of vices myself, but I usually evaluate how many benefits it will add to my lifestyle. If it meets the criteria, then I most often go for it (assuming it fits within my budget). But at the same time you want to make sure you don't over justify of purchasing something that there's a chance you could have buyer's remorse. Hope this helps in making the best decisions for you and your means! I always like to encourage what makes sense for individuals.

is it waterproof? and would you prefer using this over the niko bag for everyday use?
The material is water resistant. I would say yes. For everyday use the Kadet Sling Bag has more of a low-profile design and versatility.
