My favourite Volvo ever was the P1800!! It was a beautiful Jensen bodied sports coupe. It was used in a British television series called‘The Saint’.
Not really a Jensen Body Volvo, but a Jensen factory assembled Volvo.
VOLVO P1800/1800S/1800ES (1961-1973)
In 1960, Volvo presented a new sports car, just a few years after the previous attempt with the glass fibre bodied Volvo Sport.
The new car became known as the P1800. This new sports car had Italian-influenced styling by young Swedish designer Pelle Petterson and production began in 1961.
As Volvo did not have the capacity to build and assemble the car itself, production during the first years was contracted to the UK. Pressed Steel in Scotland made the bodies and final assembly took place at Jensen Motors Ltd. in West Bromwich.

Still think the media screens looks so old in the Volvo XC40's.
The 30 is way more modern. Cabin and dash look more spacious

@@mikaelskoglund373 yes clean dash. More open space. Hence you wouldn't feel trapped as in XC40.
@@RedBatteryHead I like the interior of the EX30 and prefer it to the XC40. The XC40 now looks like an older design. It's still nice in some ways, but the EX30 looks modern and clean and still very stylish, maybe more stylish than the EX40.
Hey kris, interesting to see how agile is the EX30 in icy conditions. I just ordered the RWD extended range and the only annoying thing is the absence of a head up display, which i must remedy somehow. Do you have any thoughts for an aftermarket hud?
simple .. get an old phone and enable only the gps. mount it where you like to see speed, etc. there are lots of apps with different displays for gps.
There's no practical point to driving "enthusiastically" on the ice and wanting to slide. So this is a just a bunch of journalist having fun, nobody in the real world should want to "rotate" a car in icy conditions. Having traction control cut power makes sense.
I want to see the EX30 being driven and the car's real-world qualities described. I don't even care that much about the range test, just more about how it is as a car.
I had a Volvo 340 many years ago. I absolutely HATED it. I think they were the Marmite mobile!!

An overly long video - I skipped the last third - and it was difficult to appreciate what was going on. Others have covered this ice-driving session with much better visuals. It was also disappointing that you didn't feature both RWD and AWD versions, simply dismissing the RWD in about one sentence.
Nice video. Stylish car on the outside and good driving performance. But what a boring inside. Why does such a good car have no driver display, poor Volvo. Would NEVER buy it for that very reason.
I think the interior styling is a matter of opinion. I think it's absolutely stylish, not at all boring. The materials, textures, door pulls, vent design, all have excellent attention to detail but work harmoniously not to detract from the continuous sweeps and lines in the cabin. It's Scandinavian design done right IMO.
