Great to see an artist working on their model railway layout!! And what an exciting layout it looks!! It may be a round and round layout, but it’s big and inspiring!!
Great vid. As an ex-surveyor, I’m not sure the tunnel mouth looks quite right. It’s probably because the economics are such that one would not construct a tunnel in such circumstances- rather cut through / construct a cutting. I’d suggest possibly starting the tunnel further round the curve so as to suggest a much bigger land mass that would justify a tunnel rather than a much cheaper cutting.
Thanks for the info! I’ve been looking at whole area for a while now. I don’t think the backscene helps that tunnel entrance area as it is nearly all sky. I was hoping to have more hills to give the impression of a more substantial area. Maybe still work to do!
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt I had inclines on several previous layouts. I didn't get a lot of pleasure from seeing the trains slowing down or suffering wheelspin.
Thank you! Hot glue gun. Never thought of that. I do have one as well. One to try for next time. I used superglue and think I had more card stuck to my fingers than I did on the hillside!!
Great video. Love the use of cheap materials. We did the same on are layout. Card strip's are a winner on weight saving. And so easy to use... great vid. Perfect for those wanting to build a tunnel on there layouts.. 😊
Well done on a great tunnel! I have one on my layout which in hindsight isn't the most realistic but at the end of the day who cares as long as you are enjoying the hobby 😊
Have to say that I agree. The layout should look like the track goes through the countryside not like the countryside is built around the track. No question about the build quantity though 👍
Thanks for sharing love the idea of using recyclable material and building methods. What's the longest model railway tunnel, yours must be close? Take care regards Barry..
Tunnels generaly go through HIGH GROUND that is in the way of the line. You have plonked a TRAIN SET type tunnel on a MODEL RAILWAY that doesn't make any sense. Your model but should have thought it through. Lovely layout though.
If I don’t like the music I can turn the sound off. But it’s fine with me. I’d enjoy narration to find out what you are using to hold the paper towels in place.

Thanks very much 👍
Love the music in your video!
Thank you!
Very well done. Great choice of materials and techniques. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Interesting how ideas evolve and change as the build goes on. Like this as it adds a bit of depth to the upper level.
Thank you. Yes, I think it does give a better backdrop for the upper level 👍
Great when you know how !!
Cheers! 👍
Great layout, and lovely work on that hill! Cheers, Dan
Many thanks!
Gr8 Job - that all looked a tidy job and drama free, I hope to be that organised when I’m a Grandad 😜🙌🏻✨
Thank you. I’m sure you will be! 👍

done a nice job there ,maybe a path with wire fencing along the top, bushes flowers ,etc.etc,i like it well done
Thank you. Yes, That's the plan. Still lots to do 👍
I'm in the process of building a new layout. NO INCLINES is the way I'm going ! - Not a single incline.
Happy building 👍

I know what you mean. It’s very hard to get a realistic gradient given the space constraints most of us have!
Looks very good to me. Moreso once it's grassed / scenic.
Thank you. Yes, some scenics should make a difference 👍
That look`s a lot better..i do all my scenery the same way cardboard strips and a hot glue gun + some burnt fingers in the process..and subscribed 👍👍

Thank you! Cheap and cheerful….and good fun too! 😁
A nice addition to the layout. It gives it more of a defined edge now. You could try to extend the backdrop aswell...
Great minds! I’m just looking at some back scenes! 👍

Thank you. I totally agree. Much of my layout would be unrealistic in the real world but I really enjoy it 👍
nice work. layout is amazing, new to your channel
Thank you very much 👍
Hi… Enjoyed this and looking forward to your next instalment.
New to your channel so just subbed.
Regards…. Steve 👍
Thanks for subscribing Steve. Should be a further update this week 👍
I preferred the incline. It now looks like they made a curved hill to put a tunnel in it. Its hidden interest. Thats no comment on the quality of it.

Thank you Barry 👍. I’ve left the back open so I can still get access for track cleaning and any derailments!!
great video gose to show you dont need lots of money to build a lay out the only thing which kills this hobby is the price of second hand locos .
Thank you. It’s not the cheapest of hobbies!
What is the layout measurements?
Hi. It’s roughly 17’ x 11’ excluding the goods yard area 👍
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt thank you! I have a similar space to work with!
was a bit too much like a highway exit ramp begore
I agree. It just looked wrong! 👍

Thanks for that.
I really like your videos doing great things with the layout but please can you stop playing that awful music cheers Al
Cheers Al. Noted!! There’s so little choice that is copyright free. Don’t think I’ll get away with AC/DC…
@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt that would be brilliant if you could AC/DC 👍 cheers Al
