Great to see an artist working on their model railway layout!! And what an exciting layout it looks!! It may be a round and round layout, but it’s big and inspiring!!

Interesting how ideas evolve and change as the build goes on. Like this as it adds a bit of depth to the upper level.

Thank you. Yes, I think it does give a better backdrop for the upper level 👍

Gr8 Job - that all looked a tidy job and drama free, I hope to be that organised when I’m a Grandad 😜🙌🏻✨

Great vid. As an ex-surveyor, I’m not sure the tunnel mouth looks quite right. It’s probably because the economics are such that one would not construct a tunnel in such circumstances- rather cut through / construct a cutting. I’d suggest possibly starting the tunnel further round the curve so as to suggest a much bigger land mass that would justify a tunnel rather than a much cheaper cutting.

Thanks for the info! I’ve been looking at whole area for a while now. I don’t think the backscene helps that tunnel entrance area as it is nearly all sky. I was hoping to have more hills to give the impression of a more substantial area. Maybe still work to do!

@@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt I had inclines on several previous layouts. I didn't get a lot of pleasure from seeing the trains slowing down or suffering wheelspin.

I know what you mean. It’s very hard to get a realistic gradient given the space constraints most of us have!

That look`s a lot better..i do all my scenery the same way cardboard strips and a hot glue gun + some burnt fingers in the process..and subscribed 👍👍

Thank you! Hot glue gun. Never thought of that. I do have one as well. One to try for next time. I used superglue and think I had more card stuck to my fingers than I did on the hillside!!

Great video. Love the use of cheap materials. We did the same on are layout. Card strip's are a winner on weight saving. And so easy to use... great vid. Perfect for those wanting to build a tunnel on there layouts.. 😊

A nice addition to the layout. It gives it more of a defined edge now. You could try to extend the backdrop aswell...

I preferred the incline. It now looks like they made a curved hill to put a tunnel in it. Its hidden interest. Thats no comment on the quality of it.

    • @eddherring4972
      @eddherring4972 Год назад +4

Have to say that I agree. The layout should look like the track goes through the countryside not like the countryside is built around the track. No question about the build quantity though 👍

Tunnels generaly go through HIGH GROUND that is in the way of the line. You have plonked a TRAIN SET type tunnel on a MODEL RAILWAY that doesn't make any sense. Your model but should have thought it through. Lovely layout though.

Das ist ja H0 oder kleiner, d.h. …
