  • In this video I will be showing you how to grease the front and rear wheel bearings, and drive hub, on my 2007 Yamaha FZ6. This job requires taking off the front and rear wheels which is a good opportunity to check your brake pad wear and clean the swing arm. To grease the wheel bearings and oil seals I used Lucas Red and Tacky lubricant. The manual calls for lithium soap based grease.

Hi Calvin MC! You are a specialist in Fz6 problems…. Please give me some tips what is the reason behind this noise: clanking noise from the clutch and the front sprocket when its in first gear and I give some throttle. I feel the hit on my left footrest. Sprockets ok, Chain ok, rear bearings ok.

Fantastic video, however you didn’t show us the part where you cleaned and lubricated or greased the the Kush drives

With a fine pick you can take off the seal cover and installed it with your fingers. I also pack the grease like you inbetween.

I think it was one of your other videos but thanks for the nut and bolt tip for the front axel. Went to hardware store and bought 3/4" bolt/nuts to use for 19mm allen. This was after running around to all the stores looking for a 19mm Hex socket which no one carries lol.

Should be noted that if you remove the dust seals you have to replace them, same with bearings.

My son is driving 200 miles to pickup a 2005 FZ6 Saturday. I've watched some of your videos, great job, do you have any advice for what he should look for before handing over the money?

Since it’s too cold to ride, I recently took off my front and rear wheels to check and grease the bearings. How much resistance was there from the bearings when you moved them by hand (with the wheels off)? The front did move freely but not as easily as the rear bearings.
