  • I disassemble, clean, and reassemble one of the jet engines used for the jet power Tesla as well as the jet powered go kart to show everybody what this jet engine looks like inside.

    Great to see that - simple in some respects but also pretty impressive engineering. Downside is cost, though I guess that's predictable.

      @@nilamotk well it was for a purpose, and I didn't leave it just sit out I was actually driving the car but had a few other commitments with other RUclips channels so I had to leave it together longer than I wanted to.

      @@WarpedLab I almost cried when I watched one of your other videos and they where still mounted and being rained on lol. To be fair tho, you did do them their fair justice cleaning them up.. I'll give ya that 🍻 looking forward to seeing what they end up becoming.

    FYI...Stainless Steel will rust if the surface coating is scratched, or if the metal is heated above 450C

      Good point, you're right it was probably stainless steel coated.. China of course. I usually buy the American stuff that is solid 304 or 316, I put that stuff in the worst environments without any corrosion.

    There should be a way to do a "compressor wash" which we do on the big engines. Just spin it up w/o fuel and spray a cleaning agent into it.

      I was thinking that exact same thing while I was doing this, I almost tried it but the starting clutch mechanisms were binded up so I had to take it apart anyway. Also I needed to clean the electronics behind that front engine cover. But yeah I wonder if that would work.

    Wow, that corrosion happened fast. It really sucks that they use salt on the roads. Think of what it does to the cars.
    As for the ball busting video, ........that sounds kind of scary hahaha

    I also wanted to ask if you can point me to the right direction with 2jz maintenance/repair shop or mechanics in chicago. I’ve got a gs300 with a 2jz gte and been wanting to do a few things to it in terms of upgrading. Not skillful enough to do it by myself and need a 2jz guru!!!

      Sorry for the late reply, the only guys I know who mess with 2JZ's are Sound Performance in Bensenville i belive, they have been doing supra forever.

    Stainless still rusts. Just takes longer, they mesh will prob not be hardened

    Stainless steel comes in a variaty of qualitys, and stainless doesn't mean it won't rust, it's able to 'repair ' itself to some degree.

    whats the housing/casing made of? It looks like stainless steel. I presume aluminum would melt where the turbine nozzle is bolted.

    Do experiment on turbo fan jet engine, it is more efficient and power full than your turbo jet

      Yes absolutely, however to clarify, the one I made that I used to use I got rid of and I bought a much more accurate machine. My old one balanced within 1/10th of a gram, my new machine is within 1/1000th of a gram (1mg) really amazing.

WP gonna show you how to build your own jet engine. i mean your own jet engine. okay. maybe you cant afford the water jet yet but pause the video. look at the software he using. go look and see how much a 3d printer costs. imagine if you save all your money buy a printer, charge your mates to make cool stuff for them, fix things they broke because you know how to make it for them.

      Impeller doesn't need to be lubricated but the impeller shaft

      Hell yeah... You will see what I'm talking about, a certain jet engine manufacturer who didn't want to sponsor me, so I did it myself and then they claimed that the engine is actually theirs and tried to take credit for the video... It completely backfired and blew up in their face, so I'm going to do a video follow up on that thrust dyno test I did on warp perception. I'm going to clarify all right nice and public
