Complete bs. Check their live concert from Rock in Rio 2001 for example. Any of the songs at that concert. "Fear of the Dark" for example.
They are all on youtube. Might make it more clear why they are among the absolute top metal bands throughout time.

Lame reaction to a killer heavy metal epic. Unliked.

I am 55 years old!! I started listening to Iron Maiden from their first album!! This was a take on a poem or short story!! The concept was too long for me to play all the time, but t agree ... Powerslave was weaker than their previous two albums!! I would rank their fifth and seventh album above this as well as their first, third and fourth for me personally!! You just chose their 2nd worst of the first seven to check out!! This is just my opinion, but I did grow up waiting for the second album and so on!! I have seen them live four times and loved it, but never listened to whole albums by them after their seventh!!❤

As already stated, this song is based on a poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
I still remember the day I bought this album after reading a rave review in a magazine. I think it's one of their best, along with ”Killers”, ”The Number of the Beast”, ”Piece of Mind” and ”Seventh Son of A Seventh Son”. It has stood the test of time for forty years, now how many of today's records can do the same?

You obviously haven't read any of English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge's works

I respect that you are giving your honest opinions unlike some other reactors. I do take issue with some of your blanket statements about the quality of their work and how loved and respected they are across the metal community. You clearly don't like them very much and that's fine, each to their own, but just because you can't name their songs or understand the context of the lyrics doesn't make your opinions about them true. When we talk about Sabbath, Priest, Maiden and Metallica, for instance, we are talking about pioneers in certain musical genres. Guns n Roses and SOAD, as good as they may be, brought nothing new to the table which is why they are very rarely talked about in the same way.
That said keep being honest it's refreshing.

Good to see you both are still reacting. This one was more generous than I would have been. I doubt Coleridge would have been impressed by the bombastic b*st*rdisation of his poem.
