many years ago my father was rabbit hunting in the dessert and one of these ran by on two legs neck frills out he never forget it but back then nobody new what it was someone must have let it go. it was in Lancaster CA. not far from LA people raised all kinds of animals there so who knows how it got there.
Hi! Thanks for this great video. I am always curious how they poop. If they poop inside the cage somewhere, would it be too difficult to clean out and sanitize? I knew the bearded dragon can be potty trained with a warm water bath. Can frilled dragon be trained as well?
I've experimented a lot over the years... if they have vertical cork bark and peat moss substrate they'll go to the bottom and do it there... way more hygienic! I've had ledges in my enclosures before that were attached to the wall. They would go on those, which I hated because it got cooked under the heat lamps (the smell!!!!) and also because it smeared it on them. After removing those and doing vertical branches they were always clean. They would however sometimes go in the water bowl.... which I also hated, so I introduced a misting system
do they like store food? if you go out of town with 30 crickets and they eat them all in one day does it matter? what about the babies who dont get enough?
I have a few different lizards a frilled dragon being one of them. He is just over one years old he has a 5ftwide x 3ftdeep x 6fthigh enclosure a mist king a habistat humidifier a hygrostat to control the humidity a 250 watt bulb a 250 watt ceramic heater for night time 2 600watt thermostats lots of big cork branches and tubes one being 4ft long 140 liters of arcadia reptile soil a 4ft 54 watt arcadia pro t5 uvb bulb and jungle dawn led bar for his plants. My point being they are not cheap at all to look after properly or to feed. I've easy spent over £1000 on his set up without the £250 he cost cost to buy he eats way over 25 extra large crickets each feed as well as locusts, roaches and various other insects. So unless you own you're own house have a good amount of disposable income I really would not get one.
@@ShawnStrickland lol, I said over a £1000 I did t say a specific price. The enclosure was £800 so it cost about £1500 for the enclosure and stuff and £250 for the frilled. You said you would of got one if you didn't have a bearded dragon that tells me either space or money is an issue but if you paid more than what I did for my frilled dragon set up for a bearded dragon you got massively ripped off even if yours is fully bio active like all of mine as I probably have more equipment on my leachie gecko set up than you would need for a bearded dragon and that probably has the least stuff out of all my lizards.
@@fazercraig9652 lmao, what you NEED and what you buy for you pet are very different, and no space or cost wasn't the reason for the bearded dragon, I feel in love with mine when I first saw her....
@@ShawnStrickland Ok ill call out your bullshit let me break it down with all the things you could actually buy for a bearded dragon. 2 Dimming thermostats or 1 dimmer and 1 pulse maybe a on and off thermostat if you also use a heat matt, a basking bulb then either a ceramic heater or a deep heat projector for night heat, a uvb bulb some branches maybe 5 at the most maybe a bit of slate maybe a few hammocks some substrate maybe some real or fake plants maybe live custodians a food bowl and a water bowl you will have a enclosure thats roughly 4ft x 2ft x3ft the most expensive item there would be the enclosure the second would be the dimming thermostat or uvb set up. In England a dimming thermostat costs around £65 the other types are less a bearded dragon enclosure is about £300. I can get a Arcadia pro t5 uvb unit and bulb between £50 -£80 depending on size I can get branches for £23 each £20 at most for a water bowl so unless you have an overly sized enclosure or its crammed I fail to see how you have spent "more". Bearded dragons use half the space and due to low humidity requirements need a lot Less equipment. So if its cost you more than 1500 for all that when you get your next one give me a shout ill sell you it all cheaper! 😄
AKlover definitely can, although they never bite. I got nipped once by my female because I had a cricket in my hand. she let go right away. Definitely very painful and they could really tear you up If they wanted. but it's not really built into their defensive mechanism. they'd rather run than engage in a fight. Also yes, multiple males will fight over territory and females.
Yeah my dragon is getting sick because of it. I am planning on bringing him to the vet soon. He has become lethargic and thats a sign of Mbd. i didn't know about the sand with it.. i will look into that. i am buying liquid calcium soon to try that.
Also study! - You can see they are arboreal {live in trees] BECAUSE THEY LOOK DOWN ON THEIR PREY. JAMES i THINK IN MY BELIEF IS- the best-frilled dragon expert in the world...Just saying.! xxxxx
When you keep getting spawn killed by the other team
Silly Psycho lol i was about to comment that
When you're the only one left on your team in a squad.
I love how they don't even acknowledge each others existence and walk over each other XD
This part of the Jurassic Park tour we see the Dilophosaurus eating Cricket-saurs
krickets be like "don't go into the light!!!!!!"
Man that sucks if that is what awaits on the other side lol 😏
I love that termite mound! That really makes them work a bit for their food, which is so enriching for them.
More civil than most family dinners.
So nice to see the captive keeping of these, and all, lizards has improved so much since the 90's. I had a frilled for about 4 years back then.
Little one is my favourite :D just hanging there upside down right above the hole staring at it haha. what a dude.
that cricket feeder is neat, where did you get that?
It's called termite hill and made by exoterra. You can look it up in petshops and online. If it's still relevant.
Everyone is so polite! Taking turns. Beautiful creatures...
0:36 the way the left one looked at him like really bro really
I think the lizards are cute
Turtle is like the redheaded stepchild in that tank...

Love that the first cricket had just come out of the hole and was almost instantly swarmed by the frilled lizards.
90 percent of the the videos of these are of people just irritating them, this is a nice to see them calm
5:15 FINISH HIM... BRUTALITY !
That's a great rock, full of crickets !! Yummy.
Termites: holy crap the Kaiju eating us why God why
Thats it now i gotta catch one with a pokeball🙈🙈🙈🙈
0:34 the right ones reactions are hilarious
All you needed then was yoshi “mlem” sound effects and this would be gold
Very happy Feilled Dragon family 😍🥲
surprisingly they eat in turn instead of rushing around, very intelligent guys
Also ...The little ones learning from The older ones......LIKE BIRDS.XXXXXXX
They look like Dilophosaurus but just a lot smaller and they crawl on all fours
Think there should be another whole more on the top.
They are so damn cute i want one so bad!! I love my lizards
Oooh I never see frilled lizard before, and I'm glad they feed
Are there any issues you've had with cohabbing them?
Very cool Dragons
first!!! love the dragons!!!
such a cool enclosure
How much do you sell the regular New Guinea Frilled Dragons for, when they are for sack of course?
they're 200-225.
+James Fisher Okay thank you, as I might be looking to buy in the future!
Where did you get them from?
Alex’s Agamids dont lol
So unlike some lizards I'm guessing you can house more than one together? That's pretty cool.
You are amazing keep up the good work
Do you handle your lizards? Getting one of my own and would like to know from an expert.

I how many crickets a day eat a frilled dragon ?How many days a week you make meal yours frilled dragons ?Sorry for my english.
I would hope the crickets don’t eat the dragons
Do they need to be in groups?
What’s the exo terra size. Is a 40 gallon big enough for one??
If I didn't own a bearded dragon already I would probably have to get a frilled dragon

Where did you find the Australians?
I didn't know you can keep them with box turtles.
Can the bigger ones do damage if they bite you? I assume multiple males becomes a problem when there is a female present?
