    The trick is very complex as it involves footage from a Betamax VCR filmed while riding a rickety train through Calcutta, converted on an Amiga using Video Toaster, sent via 300 baud modem to an AOL dial-up account... impressive!

  • @tartarus216
    @tartarus216 7 лет назад +3

    Thanks, it's brilliant, when you flipped perspective I saw some semblance of organization: two suits on bottom being lined up with a dedicated finger, middle and ring, while keeping corners near palm out to complete lower sets and the adjacent upper corner to complete higher sets (or vice versa), all while masking the action with the constant stream of running card dedicated to the top suits. Managing the top (revealed) suits order while masking it seems the most difficult aspect of this trick, though I haven't attempted it myself. Thanks for sharing this video

  • @laeb08
    @laeb08 Год назад +3

    I'm really having an extremely difficult time perfecting this cull. It's either because of my rather not-so-large hands, cards that are quite old, or my finger placements. This is hella impressive because you can pull this off swiftly!

      On the reveal you have to imagine that the cards that you can see the face of the deck are red. When your going through the cards, you but the Reds to the bottom and the blacks to the top.

    To all those saying this is not a tutorial. Get a grip. Please, at least have a semblance of card handling technique and experience under your belt before commenting. This is not for novices. I for one was right there with Penn & Teller and was fooled, but simply watching this video told me everything I needed to know as to how Kostya's cull was performed. Kudos to him, and about six month's practice coming up for me! Brilliant handling, Kostya! So fast!!!

    @brunovayron I agree but the cull is not Kostya Kimlat's he only made the Roadrunner Cull in the open. While he made it in the open the Cull has also been around for a long time so in fact there are tutorials all over RUclips, and the web for the cull. And the Roadrunner Cull is just a faster, longer version of the cull only doing so with multiple cards.

    So, how does a well known trick like this fool Penn & Teller on their show in 2015? I'm sure they are well aware of this trick? So, they just let him get a pass because he executed it well? IF that's the case then the show is bogus.

    • @RmonikMusic
      @RmonikMusic 6 лет назад +1

      The show is kinda bogus. But the story on this particular one is different. Both P&T knew the guy doing the trick, they had heard of him and knew he was really good. They also knew from the start what trick he was going to do, in fact, they had performed the exact same trick a few months before on live TV. The guy just had the audacity to come on the show and do the same trick, with his own technique, and basically showing them how it's done better. That's what made him so angry.
      I do agree that people calling it the best trick on the show are kinda stretching it. Culls have been around for a while, his might be the best but still.

    Kosta outed the cull himself. just ask him if the original cull was his, I know what he'll say. your paying for his additional insights expertise and the video production of an old technique. your morals and ethics are good and I see where you are coming from, but you cant dictate what another does with his soul.

    You don't evolve anything. If magicians want to lean the cull, they have to buy the dvd. The cull is one of the best technique in card magic and has to be hidden from the curious. Please respect the work of Kostya Kimlat.

  • @kylewallace3482
    @kylewallace3482 10 лет назад +5

    Yes, nice card handling, but let's be honest about this being a tutorial. This is just another self-indulgent You Tube clip exposing magicians' techniques, not teaching them. If that's a tutorial then: "Elementary particles behave both like particles and like waves…and someone shut a cat in a box." There you go, I've just given you a tutorial in quantum physics. Now go build a particle accelerator.

    • @JolanXBL
      @JolanXBL 6 лет назад

      It is a complete tutorial. You separate the backwards cards using your fingers, by sliding them to the back; that's what the glass table is for.
