My favorite Sting solo song. The lyrics / story David, the tragic STORY. This is a great performance. His band is strong here. His vocals, beautiful. There is another live version, live at the Olympia Paris, with his son on backing vocals. I own that concert on Blu-Ray.
What a nice song. Sting knows how to make these king of chill songs. I mostly know his stuff only from Police Greatest hits and Ten summoner's tales.
Clark Gayton is one of the horn players with the shades playing here.Now apart of Bruce Springsteens horn section since Clarence passed away. Might be playing trombone 😅
This one is a bit interesting to me. Because I’ve been listening to the Johnny Cash version for years. Then at some point I read it was originally written by Sting. And ever since I learned that, I just couldn’t imagine Sting singing it. And now it’s like, oh, duh, he does it in a very Sting style. Johnny’s version is way, way more stripped down, and the tone and feel are very different. And to be quite honest, the lyrics sound better to me sung in Johnny’s voice.
I only knew this song by Johnny Cash.

An Amazing album with many songs that are deep!
I think that's Vinnie Colaiuta on the drums he's one of the best Drummers to have behind you.
