I was astounded how he thought he could betray people's intimate thoughts and be shocked that they didn't want to be friends with him anymore. Who needed an enemy with him around.
I haven’t seen the swans. The only thing that I found compelling about it was the name the swans Tom Hollander supposedly is phenomenal. This guy has an amazing talent the other women, I thought Demi Moore witness cast the same record. It was no vulnerability there there was nothing in what she look like that even resembled in Woodward, we read as well played by Calista Flockhart who is a fine actress and I guess her physique machine that well Naomi Watts was fine but the story in itself was rather boring and what did they expect really they got mad at him for exposing their secrets, but for years he had been gossiping maliciously and viciously about a lot of people. They turn their back on and Woodward, but they went to her funeral, what is the expect from such a man what did they expect? Did they think hiding in the mouth of the wolf would make them safe from his mean-spirited callousness? No I I found it rather boring. It was very OneNote. Yes they get mad at Capote they ostracize Capote Koepka probably goes I mean it was just really stupid
I love that both the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and Toby Jones who both played Truman Capote in Capote and Infamous is featured in this video and I can't wait to see Tom Hollander playing Truman in the series he is a very good and talented actor and he will do a very good job.
C.Z Guest remained friends with Truman Capote until his death since he didn’t mention her in the esquire article and Lee Radzwill also remained his friend after the chapters were released but ended the friendship years later.
I just watched the first two episodes. The age of the cast can be somewhat misleading, but all the actors played their roles exceptionally well. After watching this RUclips video, I googled Turman and his swams' birthday and found out that Truman was younger than most of the swans. Truman was born in 1924, Babe and Ann were born in 1915, Slim was born in 1917, and CZ was born in 1920. Was his relationship with his swans like a younger brother-older sister relationship? Lee, born in 1933, is younger than Turman and the other swans. All these people were depicted in the show as if they were around the same time and often hung out with each other. However, I belive that, in real life, Babe, CZ, and Slim were in the same group. Lee was in a different group, and Ann was never close to the other swans. CZ was also a bit different from the other swans. She was the only one born into an old-money family and then married into a much older old-money family. She did not seem to have a feud with Truman, and she seemed to have a pretty happy, fulfilling life and a successful marriage with her only husband, Winston Guest. She might be the coolest and luckiest among them.
While not a fan of either Capote, the women and their elitist society as a whole, I do think he deserved his punishment. It was a betrayal of confidences and secrets which he wanted to use for his own fame and fortune. Personally, I do not understand anyone's tolerance or fascination with such superficial and self-serving individuals. I find them all extremely boring.
I googled these people & found my jaw on the floor at the connections & shady shit these "classy" women & their families got into. Their lives sounded so miserable.
"He wasn't interested in them romantically," duh!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I told a gay friend of mine this statement. We laughed and laughed. Only because everyone knew Capote was gay.
😮 Who would have known years later people were going to. just tell all of their business for free. And was not going to be embarrassed about it either. 😔🙆🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️☺️
The problem with Capote was that others told him what to write and he took it literally! As a result, nobody knew what to think- it was too much for them!
Since i don't watch the series, i don't have a personal opinion about it, but it was a nice video nonetheless. Have a happy wednesday afternoon, Rebecca. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Are you saying Ann Woodward killed herself but you showed Ann slater and in her old age in one of the clips unless she didn’t change her last name and that was someone else

He last year's in NYC were a classic example of hubris, of a great literary artist hoist by his own petard. At some point he forgot his true caller: he was a real writer. But what an utter waste that he blew his talent writing about such a ghastly cohort as The Swans and their entourage.
Damn it!!! I really want to see this but I have no access to FX or Hulu. I don't want to have to pay for Hulu or for some sort of package deal just to watch this. *sigh* Oh well. It'll be released out on DVD in due time. I'll just have to be patient.

He needed her to write and edit for him. So sad. I feel sorry for the lady that did all of the writing and never received credit.

We didn't need another retelling of Charles and Diana, this is a much better choice
Agreed!
Amen!
Right. I'm a huge fan of Capote's work and the time period, but somehow I never heard of this particular scandal.
Good lord no, we have heard the same story a million times over the years! In twenty years it will be about Kate and Will or Harry and Meg LOL!

Phillip Hoffman was an amazing actor 🤩
I just saw him in a clip from Law and Order. ❤
One of the best!
Yes, sad he passed away.
He had the guts to play disgusting people occasionally not concerned with his image.
He had the mannerisms down

Lee wouldn't take up for him.
I read he dropped her after she refused to testify for him in the Vidal court case.
"He wasn't interested in them romantically"

How was he surprised that people stopped talking to him after doing a tell all on his closest friends.

Melanie Benjamin wrote a great historical fiction novel about this - The Swans of 5th Avenue
I loved this book (I read a lot). I have read this book twice....so far!!!

It is a wonderful novel. I just finished it.
Isn't the show based on the book?
@@nomanejane5766 I think it is, yes.
Saw 1st episode and am hooked. I always considered Naomi Watts to be a stellar actress but she is FANTASTIC here.
Oh my gosh! Naomi Watts does such a fabulous job in this! I think this is the best yet for her.
1:20 No wonder Philip Seymour Hoffman won an Oscar for playing him
6 episodes in and it's fantastic. The opening scene in episode 1 is shocking. Great performances.
This show better be amazing given the huge number of RUclips commentaries available!

They omitted Gloria Guinness and Marella Agnelli I think.
Chloe as CZ is so perfect
He wanted to be a Swan.
Thank god they changed the theme this is way more interesting. Diana and Charles have been covered
ad nauseam.
Capote was an idiot for doing that. Karma hit back hard 😂😂😂
All writers cannibalize on their lives and the lives of others. Every last one. Karma doesn't work like that.
Yeah, if they actually write it. 😊😂
Excited for the fashion!!❤
The fashion and jewelry are so beautiful!
I think Annette Bening would have been good as a Swan actress on the Feud.
The series looks amazing!
Jackie and Lee( Bouvier) their mother Janet...don't tell anyone anything. And, they really didn't.
Don’t forget Calista Flockhart.
And Molly Ringwald
Calista Flockhart plays a perfect Lee Raziwell. The mannerisms are spot on.
I was looking for these comments.. how are you going to list the great actresses and not name both of them
I love Calista is excellent in this! I always thought she was an okay actress, but this was an excellent role for her!

Truman Capote was just a mean queen.
Naomi Watts is absolutely stunning as a brunette 💓❤️🙌🏾
CZ Guest and Lee Radziwill DID talk to him afterwards
I think Capote figured out that swans may LOOK pretty, but they can be VERY vicious when they feel the need to be!
Uh... Why is Feud portraying Slim Keith as a brunette? It's great to see Diane Lane slaying it but still I have this question.
The same with Ann Woodward, who was a blonde...also,Truman and Ann were never friends

Some of Mr. Capote's Swans were as monstrous and unpleasant as he could be.

Next feud series should be on Lea Michele and Naya Rivera. You know Ryan Murphy got that Glee tea 🧐
Please share Capote’s speech in his film scene around the dinner table with Peter Falk etc. in episode 2.
