    When I watch these films of the players I rooted for as a kid, I’m amazed that we only won 2 Super Bowls, until I remember The Steel Curtain. The front four of the Pittsburgh Steelers were so dominant, that mixed in with their great LB Corps and outstanding Secondary, it’s really amazing the games vs them were so close. But Pittsburgh was an extremely dominant team, both Offensively and Defensively. It speaks to how talented the Cowboys were that they went to 5 Super Bowls of that era.

    Thomas, if you're out there reading these comments, I want to thank you for letting us see your amazing talent on the field. From a physical standpoint, you were the most gifted LB of your era and one of the best of any era. We all have "what if's" in our lives, but as for yours, if you had been able to beat back the demons in your life, you would be in Canton today. If Coach Landry had set you loose to blitz from the weak side, you would have led the Cowboys in sacks. Most of all, I thank God you turned your life around. You are one of my all-time Cowboys' favorites. And you brought tears to my eyes seeing you recently on Roger Staubach's A Football Life. May God bless you Thomas.

      Yep, if it weren't for drug addiction, my bet is that if he'd stayed healthy he might have ended up in the ROH & HOF. He REALLY was THAT good. Watching those clips took me back to being 16 years old and watching my Cowboys play every Sunday in Florida.

    If Henderson had slowed down and let Hughes block Gerela he would have scored. But Roy was messed up the rest of the game because he cracked his ribs on that tackle. That dunk over the goal post was straight gangster since he said the rams didn’t have enough class to play in the SB.

    • @Biggdoom344
      @Biggdoom344 2 года назад

      Steelers were 4-1 v Dallas that decade. Blame the refs if you want but Dallas let the Steelers convert a 3rd and 8. Hold them to a FG, then don’t fumble the next kickoff..and catch that TD pass..it goes from 35-31 Steelers to 35-24 cowboys. The two teams were pretty even except the X factor…Swann or Stallworth. Dallas could not stop em.

Completely ruined my season so badly that I almost quit the Rams after that embarassing game but stuck it out for the next several years. I even recreated you all on Madden's classic teams and that brings back mostly good memories of those great 70's years whenever I play those teams.

    MrDownWiththeSouth, you're talking about a linebacker who picks a ball off a takes it the distance. Who knows if Henderson was out there all series and the receiver had just come in the game. The receiver would naturally be fresher and could walk him down. But Hollywood was the truth. His only problem? He played in Dallas, Texas in the 70's. What if Landry had used him like Parcells would use LT years later? Thomas had to play in Landey's "Flex" and it stiffled his true athleticism.

    • @howardcosell2022
      @howardcosell2022 3 года назад

      Parcells and Belichek tried to stiffle LT by having him play in space, but LT would deviate from the plan and just destroy plays ran by the offense. In the same sense, this is why Randy White was moved from LB to the defensive front so he can cause immediate havoc at the snap of the ball

    OK I admit DWare is 50 lb's heavier but 4.3!!! thats elite WR speed now nearly 40 years later, never mind LB.
