- On this episode we go for a ride in Steve’s minty 50k original mile Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Making 850+HP(760+whp) this thing is an absolute blast, its not everyday you see such a clean and fast 2G GSX. Thanks for watching, be sure to leave a comment below!
Ferraris and lambos are cool.. but there's something about these cars..when done properly they really show the time and passion put into them... wish they were available in India!

I totally agree with you, don't get me wrong, I like lambos etc etc, but if I won the lottery I don't think I'm gonna buy one of theses...
I'm gonna buy one of theses car, a 90s rx7, an eclipse, a 240SX, I think these cars are the greatest cars, a little bit modern, but not too modern, you need to be a pilot to drive them, you never really control the car. They have a soul.
Eclipse are cool.
Until mine's running, I come here to enjoy riding in other peoples'.

Man, watching this makes me not want to even post a video of my car. Same car, same year, same color, same mindset for the car, half the HP. I'm just in awe over this car right now. It's really nice to see someone else have the simplicity mindset. Nothing flashy. Just AH! I love it. Nuff said.

I also own one of the same color. Mine is a 97 though and far from this clean. Previous owner did not take pride in maintenance.

Nice to continue see what sadly is considered old school tuners on the channel. All the super high dollar, incredibly fast cars are neat, but the videos of them get old.

It's nice to see one of these unmolested or not a total pile. Harkens back to an age gone by when Mitsubishi made good cars compared to the junk they make now. I never got too big into imports but this car held a special place for me and it had nothing to do with the movies. I'm glad to see he preserved the clean lines instead of slapping a horrible body kit on it.
Been a mitsu guy for ages, but i'd have to agree the cars they make these days are a FAR cry from what they used to make in the 90's. It's such a fucking shame. :( And to top it all off, with a swift kick in the dick for all of us, they killed off the EVO.
Mine in storage is a 1999 GSX bone stock with 108,000 original stock miles, I'm the second owner, bought in January 2007!
Damn right!! I've had two 2nd gen DSMs, and recently picked up a mint '93 3000GT VR4 with low-mileage. Mitsubishi has definitely lost something over the years.

Sadly ive sent 8 to the metal graveyard, brings a tear to my eye thinking about it. I might have to scrap another soon if someone doesnt pick up the 92 gsx roller i got kicking. Be picking up 2 2gb awd talons and 2 2gb eclipse spyders this weekend need the room bad.

My first car in high school was a ‘97 GSX and it was gapping V8s back in 1999 with just a mbc so I can only imagine how fast this one is. Shame they’re so rare now but I’m not giving up hope buying myself a clean 2G before my 40th birthday. Crazy to think they’ll be considered a classic car by then.
So refreshing to see a well done example of a clean yet modified GSX. Long live the DSM!

Not a fan of the hood, but otherwise VERY clean plus attention to detail in engine bay! And so true about high horsepower stock build transmissions, they can’t take it .
I come back to this video from time to time. I'm a die hard DSM lover, and it makes me so sad to see the state of the culture now. The cars are rare, and they're hard to get parts for. Save them, or at least let their parts live on! Don't crush!

Nice project. If it were mine I'd use a Dynomax Ultrflo round muffler. It's the quietest sound, just a low grump; and the only thing that flows better is a straight pipe.
This thing is beautiful!!!!! Major goals to look forward to on mine.
I had a 99 eclipse rs with the carbon fiber hood and bad ass clear taillights as my second car. Threw 3 kicker cvr 12s in the back. I left a burn mark in the plastic near the shifter. Sold the car in 06. Sure as shit last spring I pulled behind it in traffic. Still running, no more kickers, but the burn hole is still there, confirmed by the riders in traffic!
I love these cars so much. I cant wait to get my awd 92 laser on the road eventually.

It’s a rarity to see any DSM with a body kit even back in the day. It was always more about performance. The kitted cars are all gone or parted ways.

You can definitely hook a strain gauge up through ECMLink, or even through the ARC-2 box.
I'd like to hear it. It would cool to add it. Ty
@@stephainr988 You buy the strain gauge, install it, and hook it to the clutch switch input that ECMLink uses for the no lift to shift function. This will enable the fuel cut the same as if you depressed the clutch and will unload the dogs so that you can flat foot shift it without using the clutch. As long as the strain gauge outputs a ground signal to the ecu, ECMLink won't know the difference.
Note that this ONLY works for dogbox transmissions, although I'm sure you knew that.
@@talontsi92 that part I know. Thank you. The problem is which strain gauge knob out there out puts ground. Cause most kits are set to output 0-5 volt reference.
@@stephainr988 I believe you need to look into the "Flatshifter shift strain gauge" with the "Flatshifter Amplifier module" versus the 2.5 volt amplifier module.
