My only complaint about this era in All Japan wrestling is that most wrestling matches featured more brawling than wrestling . That being said , The Funks could both fight and wrestle equally well . Great fun to watch .
You have to think that Brody probably had it too ...maybe King Curtis and Jimmy Snuka too ...Bobby Heenan Bladed a lot but he never dealt with other peoples blood that much .

i viewed the recording of these matches , back in late 70s.. how ever the match i viewed live from Japan , back then , was between Inoki & Mohammad Ali. Japan had a good wrestling arenas , back in 70s, & most of US wrestlers used to visit Japan .... might be in search of handsome money... 😄

これ、当時リアルタイムで観てました。夜8時からの放送がプロ野球中継で、深夜11時45分からの放送予定となったのですが、何かの(失念)特別番組の横槍が入り、関東地方では結局夜中の1時からの放送でしたね。眠い目を擦ってオンタイムで見ました。。
私も同じです。夏休み中の土曜の20時なんて日テレ系は間違いなく巨人戦放送していましたね、品川、大宮のシングル2連戦は両方深夜に放送だったので、寝ないように頑張ってTVの前で応援していました。眠気が吹っ飛ぶ大興奮の試合でした
