I'd rather see a master drummer playing musically within a composition than any exhibition like this. WIth rare exceptions, drum solos devolve quickly into "let's see how many rudiments I can play as fast as I can play them." That's what people line up to see at these trade gigs, but even the drummer up there looks bored playing this stuff.
