The "Barrel" connections work great to power my monitor, and the USB-A powers my powered focus motors, so I hope they don't get rid of them like you suggest!

The barrel connections are for connecting that to a monitor to a field monitor because they all have barrel connections for power

Negative. There are far superior outputs like d-tap or Lemo to power monitors.

Nah youre trippin, i use the barrel connectors for my monitor and to power the blackmagic, frees up the usb c for other things, d tap is too chunky. Also the barrels can spin and you can self align where the cables go in direction

I really appreciate that! In this particular office set up, I have used the Canon R5, the Sony FX3, and the black magic cinema camera 6KFF in various videos. In this particular video, I am using the blackmagic in braw.

have you ever had any issues with powering HDMI monitors and the camera through the same v-mount battery? Like sdi-protocol but with HDMI I guess 🤔 I'd like to do that for my setup but I'm afraid of frying the HDMI port or something

I haven’t had any issues but I usually make sure everything is powered before connecting anyways so I guess I always follow the proper procedure regardless. It is honestly good practice to do that regardless of the system
