Chris Adams being short and light is a huge advantage, the more weight you got and the higher it sits on the bull, the more leverage is working against you. That’s why if you look on PBR right now, you’ll hardly ever see a bull rider taller than 5’10” and 160 lbs.

When JB started listing his injuries I couldn't help but feel pain for him. Damn, I'm 51 and live in pain everyday. Can only imagine how much pain he's going to be in later in life. Hell he's probably in pain right now. Now that's cowboy tough.

I got a question for you. These two rookies didn't seem to me to have a bull rider's build. J.B. and some riders I've met in person have a thinner wiry build. Strong for sure, but more agile looking. Is that accurate?

This is awesome. I’m working in Kuwait right now and with all this WW3 talk while I’m staring at the Iraq boarder, I am pretty happy to have found this series to keep my head happy.
I should make it clear that I have no idea what type of bull is ideal for bullriding henceforth the question, isn´t 1600 pounds quite "small" of a bull? lived my whole life on a farm and most of our younger bulls weigh in at around 1600-1800 pounds before being sent of to the slaughterhouse, our breding bulls range from 2200-2850 pounds so shouldn´t be a problem finding larger bulls. Is it bc the lighter bulls can move more freely and therefore make it a harder time for the rider? As I meantioned just a question and would like to know the reasoning behind using lighter bulls.
Tell you what. Sankey Rodeo School is one of the best schools, because they want you to ride with confidence. Add'n JB, now that's a bonus. Long Live Cowboys! Yeehaw!
Bull riding has come a long way... back in the day protective gear = western hat, boots, jeans, long sleeved shirt w a collar, chaps & a gloved hand. If you'd have showed up w a protective vest you might have been called a wimp (or worse)& a helmet you might have been laughed to shame. But, that all changed w the death of World Champion Lane Frost @ Cheyenne. Ty Rinaldo himself (the owner of the bulls) had a near brush w death @ a bullriding back in the 90's. I'll bet he wished he'd had a helmet on that night. He met heads w a bad one much like Bodacious, called Johnny Rotten, and he was! And he was one of those that was hard to get excited about if his name was next to yours on the list (@ least if it were me ,might wanna puke!)
@@Cody2nd that's not real wise kid. 1: if the equipment is going to be used amd required in competition, it needs to be practiced with to be used to and comfortable with. 2: Even getting on a steer slick heeled with a flank rope, a vest is a good idea to protect the vitals. Accidents can happen at any time, a steer is still able to punctured lungs and heart with a broken rib if you end up under them. Don't get me wrong, I've done it many times myself, it's just cowboy $h!+!!! Doesn't make it wise though. When I first started out, vest were just starting to be seen around the circuits. I rode without one for about a year, and without a helmet for about 6. Tell ya what though, won't catch me without either one on these days. I'm old enough to use my common sense and I remember all the things I've seen and the injuries I have been through, including breaking my fibula and big toe new year's Eve on Texas Red (use to call him Corpus Red, on the CBR tour, if that helps), down in Claremore Oklahoma at the big WSBRO bull riding down there. It just ain't worth the risk not to use what protective gear is offered in such a dangerous sport. Half Insane Outdoor Guy
Rude much?
@@laurenmcburney14 that's literally his user name...
JB in my eyes is the size of Hafthor Bjornsson the Strongman from Game of Thrones. A Giant in his Sport.
JB...The REAL DEAL!
This is awesome. I’m working in Kuwait right now and with all this WW3 talk while I’m staring at the Iraq boarder, I am pretty happy to have found this series to keep my head happy.
Stay safe brother
Wow! Glad we could get your mind off the problems Tugger! Thanks for watching and whatever you're doing, stay safe. Keep Groovin'
🇺🇸 stay safe and kick some ass brother!
Thanks guys. I am working oil and gas right in the border. Not a serviceman. Those boys get the real adventure. I just got front row seats 😂
Praying for you griz!
Didn't know this series existed but i'm glad i found it!
Hey Dylan! We're glad you found it to! Thanks for watching. Keep Groovin'
Bull Riders are hardcore. Bull Fighters are the best kinda nutjobs. I can't imagine experiencing that kinda power.
Some serious dedication to step between a pissed off bull and the bullrider on the ground!
They are definitely heros! Have been saved a couple times myself back in the day! Thank God for the bull fighters!
Went to a rodeo to ride ranch bronc, came out a bullrider.......most exhilarating ride of my life....even if it was only two seconds
Hell yeah y’all lucky SOB to get one On one with JB haha
Great riding fellers !
Love it dude! Keep up the great content!
"i'm retired, i just fight bulls now" haha my dads retired, he just sits on his ass
😂🤭
22:25 XD JB makes a great bull speech/sign translator.
I'm 32 with two kids and 6 herniated discs and I'm about to get on a Bull lol
Lane and JB showed everyone that it’s a dance, he moves left you move left.
2 men that understood the beast
Edit: Not sure how he’s still alive…
Tell you what. Sankey Rodeo School is one of the best schools, because they want you to ride with confidence. Add'n JB, now that's a bonus. Long Live Cowboys! Yeehaw!
Agreed Black Hat! Sankey and JB was a good match! Thanks for Watching.
JB is class!
crazy to think about how JB was my uncle Ira’s best friend in the rodeo growing up , small world
That's awesome Mckinnely. Did your uncle ride? Keep Groovin'
Don't know not a dang thing about this but I do know enough to know that JB is a STUD!!! JB is a true athlete!!!
The real stars are the bull fighters!
would love to attempt this, rode plenty of horses but never a bull. its on my bucket list
Go get 'em Michael! Keep Groovin'
Hell yeah Logan! can’t believe my buddy got to meet JB!! super proud of him
Y’all not friends bro
Agreed Jeff! We were glad to have the added protection! Thanks for watching!
Jeff D a lot of us still get on practice bulls with just a glove an tennis shoes. No vest spurs or helmet. Best way to learn to ride in my opinion.

Chaplain Reece
Thanks Chaplain! Gotta get perspective right when you're doing this crazy stuff. Keep Groovin'
For all y’all who ain’t from America... this is what real men in America act like... not like what u see in the movies or tv... respectful hard working boys who live for freedom... it took these cowboys about 2 seconds to become best friends and still have good sportsmanship
Good stuff LK! Thanks for Watching! Keep Groovin'
Thanks, LK 157, You said something that needed to be said.
JB: “S19 perfect ass whoopin”
Rookie: *nervous laughs* cause it’s JB Mauney
Ever seen the motocross track after they take the ripper across it?! Deep! Lol like cement blocks running or riding on TOP. Never behind. Just hanging off the back!
This would cross an item off my bucket list!
Yes! Thanks for watching Philip! Keep Groovin'
Right before they get on JB tell some about all the things that went wrong😂🌵😎
Thanks for watching Lauren. Keep Groovin'
