Tips for using Heat and Bond Soft Stretch Hem tape

This is how I control or prevent the paper from separating from the glue part of the hem tape. This is a great product for hemming knits. It's soft and stretchable when fused, but can be a pain if the paper starts to separate before you can fuse it down. Also, just be sure not to fuse it down for too long. It can gum up and stick to the paper and you end up with a mess.
What worked for me is to fuse for 3 to 5 seconds on high, then leaving the paper on, turn up the hem and crease for a couple seconds. Leave the paper on until you are ready to fuse the hem. Please test on scraps of fabric to get the ideal setting for your iron and fabric.
