Glad you made a video on the 2016, I was the commenter who asked you about the willys wheeler. Just picked up my 2016 Willys Wheeler Unlimited in firecracker red and manual yesterday. Its my first manual and wrangler and I'm loving it!
+Tamer888 The willy's has rubicon shocks, suspension and mud terrain tires. It gloss black wheels and a cosmetic package. The sahara is mostly a "luxurious" trim, offers leather seats, remote start, chrome cosmetics, heated seats, body color hardtop and fender flares, and some other goodies.
I might be two years late but i love the way you review, in detail and your commentary is very natural like how people talk on day to day basis. Unlike the commentary of Saabkyle04. His commentary is much more sophisticated and puts me to sleep. love your reviews.
Jeep fans... Note the 2016 changes for the Sahara. You'll notice the recessed parts in the wheels are painted Granite Crystal Metallic (also available as a body color). There are also body color bumper appliques now instead of the silver ones from before. If you want more bang for your buck, take a look at the new Backcountry Edition, which is based on the Sahara but has way more offroad savvy features. Happy shopping!
Man this car is parked on my street since afternoon. Exactly what you said happened to me. I saw it from the window and I just went holy crap! It was love at first sight. This thing looks a lot like a 1950's designs somehow. I love how not rounded it is. This became my dream car in seconds. But HATE that tailgate swinging open the wrong way. It would be one thing that makes not never buy this car, I just couldn't handle the insanity day after day. Such a shame.
I have a 2013 Wrangler Sport. I use it as a daily driver and mine is great to drive. people say they drive sluggish but mine doesn't feel that way. but, I did give it magna flow duel exhaust with a K& N Cold air intake. that boosted it too 300 horse and it will freakin mve when you give it gas. best vehicle I've ever owned.
I went to the dealership in search for my first car. I already knew I wanted a sahara wrangler, but I saw the unlimited in some silverish gray. It was the most beautiful jeep I have every seen. except I was 37k, my mom said she would get me it if I learn Manual since I already know automatic. I don't know know, I'm in love.
+Saffron Maverick They might be thinking that Halogen is simpler and more rugged than an HID system and have enough heat to melt ice and snow unlike LEDs. In addition to that they might be thinking that a Jeep Wrangler wouldn't have the same iconic look with projector tubes or a string of LED lights in the front.
This vehicle is so awesome. Getting one second hand soon. Already have a heavily modified mk1 golf as a racecar/daily driver. But this jeep is gonna be my daily driver soon.
Wonder what happened to the Subwoofer??????? +saizo aljami not at all I have a 2015 Rubicon Hardrock and it's a dream both on and off road. as long as you understand you're not getting a 700 series BMW ride, YOu'll love the way this vehicle handles and rides.
Interesting how the LCD brightness dimms if the headlights are on... Guess that's normal but still wish there was some sort of current regulation going on.
Hi Mike, can you give your opinion of what extra value one would get, (if any) of the Rubicon vs this model? I understand many jeep lovers who do off road are better off getting that model vs a standard model and adding those options down the road. I did own a YJ model and must admit that vehicle was a disaster/lemon and even when it did work, it couldn't even get thro a small puddle without stalling out, but I know they are much improved now.
Hey Mike thanks for getting back to me! I test drove one today!! Loved it!!! I'm female/small 5'2" had a hard time jumping in and out, but I did love it!! Great review by you! Can you please review the 2016 Cadillac SUV.? I really value your reviews!
i loved your extensive revision of this car! I would like you to have talked about driving experience too, but of course it would make the video pretty large. Anyway 5/5
Thinking seriously about buying this over all the popular SUVs. I'd be sold on this Jeep if I knew there were Air Conditioner controls in the back seats?? Gets very hot on Calif.! mike do you know? Thanks!
Mike, Awesome vid... I'm in the market for a new Wrangler U and really appreciate the time, thoroughness, and honesty of the review. Keep up the good work! p.s. some more time spent on the drivetrain would be well worth it as Jeep owners generally lift and/or are concerned about such things. I'd wish you luck, but you don't need it. Prost!
+Sam Borgman i hear you. a lot of other SUV's have tough or difficult tailgate openings now. i'd prefer a two piece design rather than have to lift up an entire rear door assembly. i was used to one on my older Ford Escape but now the new Jeep Cherokee has a one piece design. stuff is always rolling out the hatch when i open the jeep's door and have been offroad or even in town.
pensive69 I would never buy something with a tailgate like that, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I guess no one minds it so the makers are sticking with it.
Yes.... that will be about right, but, if you have any information about, keep building a pickup truck let us know, I definitely buy one but not for $100,000. thank you Mike and be safe keep and keep in touch.

Hi Mike. I really like this video. I hope I can get one of these in the 2 door version. No rear cam? Do you know if they will have it in the 2017? If so I wonder if I should wait one more year or just get one of these as the 2017's start to come in.
Yes you can get a two door just like it. Backup cameras in wranglers are kind of like power seats... unavailable. There are plenty of aftermarket options that work great. I don't have any inside information regarding the 2017 models so i don't know.
MikesCarInfo Thank you very much for replying. Well I have only owned 90s vehicles so it's not like I really NEED the cam. But I love modern gadgets so would have been neat to have.
Hi again Mike. I got my first Jeep a few months ago. I finally put up my video. Thanks to this video I made my decision this was the right car for me. I gave you a shout out in my video. I got the 2 door Sahara. I really like it. Oh and about the auto headlights. They are cool. They come on when you use the whippers and come on also when the sensor senses that it's getting too dim the lights come on on their own. They turn in in the garage for me so that's funny.
I'm somewhat confused on the Jeep 4 wheel drive system. I always thought on a part time system 2wd, 4wd high, and 4wd low that when you are in Part time 4wd high or low that all 4 wheels are locked and rotating at the same rate, the only difference being that 4wd low you can only go as fast as 15mph and high that recommend as fast as conditions dictate but generally not faster than 55mph and surfaces need to be loose or wet. My confusion comes in when I watched a Jeep review from some other channel and it said that unless you have the 4x4 locker buttons your differential will always be open no matter what mode you are in. Does this sound right? I understand that if you are in 2wd and have a rear locker button you can press that for a little more traction before hitting 4wd mode but is it true that a base wrangler unlimited part time system is always open differentials unless you have the locker buttons? Someone please chime in and educate me on this one.
Why does the JKU have about half the towing capacity as a Jeep Grand Cherokee when they pretty much have the same engine performance specs? Is it the gear train that is the limiting factor then? And, to the makers of Jeep, why wasn't the back seat made adjustable as well to utilize more of the back space for comfortable, long distance traveling leg room when you are mostly just hauling people? And why, pray tell, can't a person select the cheapest wheels and tires in the world as an option on a new Rubicon so they can put their choice on without having to buy the more expensive ones?
The Jeep doesn't have the suspension for towing. And you don't need to put these tires on these wheels. Any tire with the same wheel size and width will work technically, buy you might need to order it.
Sahara is mostly about style and luxury and Rubicon is more about off-road capability. Here is a link to get the details: www.jeep.com/model-compare/quick-chart/?modelYearCode=CUJ201607
HAPPY NEW YEAR MIKE... I do appreciate your hard work... would you let us know if jeep, is going to built a JEEP- PICK UP?THANK YOU... P/S... I don't wanna pay a $100.000. you know what I mean??? HAHA...
+MikesCarInfo Never mind, i get it now. I have only seen the Rubicon Hard Rock edition, witch have a different bumper and hood. Thinking all 2016 Jeeps would have the same bumper. :-)
You know I really love Jeeps. But the quality control and the terrible stories I've heard about the engine problems and electrical problems are keeping me from buying one. I wish Chrysler would step their game up on this..
+Matt G I had a 2012 Jeep Wranger Sahara, here is the list of problems I had in the 4 years I had it. Left shock leaking, water pump broken, pulley, heat shield, damper shock broken, casting sand in engine, no heat or to much, heat core replaced, leaking rear seals, transfere case leaking, seat heater broken, heat shield broken, broke elbow on soft top, broke rear bar for the soft top. Light for parking brake broke. I never took it off road. Every repair had me go 2 times. Once for the evaluation and 2 to get parts. Plus 2 recalls. I finally sold it back to the dealer and got a 2016 Mazda CX5.
I bought one, but I regret it. If anyone wants to get one Don't because they're not worth the money. I have a family and kids. And I realized after 3-4 months there's a lot of negative things about this vehicle. I would not buy it again.
It is an off road vehicle. It is a common misconception that it is a replacement for a family SUV. Check out the Grand Cherokee or Durango.
What was your problems with this Jeep like a Familliy car?
@@MikesCarInfo exactly I hate when people think it's supposed to be a luxury cruiser
what were some of the negative things? a dude in my state is selling 2014 one for $15K, only 75K miles on it. Kinda sus. Is it really that bad?
@@ominous450 did you buy it?

+27westmount What will happen if you off road. !
Jeep and other Americans car companies are bad quality.
+WALEED ALOTAIBI If I went off road it would leave me stranded!! I got a Mazda CX5.... Excellent car!!
