Doesn't work on a 2014 KIA forte because the upper frame that supports the steering column is welded in (manufacturing dumbass design) and this is not allowing the steering column to drop down enough to get to the motor. The point is that one design doesn't apply to all.
Is it really necessary to lower the steering column? When the plastic covers are removed, it looks like there is enough to space to acces the EPS motor..?
How much did you say it might cost if this repair was done at the dealership? I understand that a mechanic will charge for the time it takes to get the work done and the cost of the coupler. I recently had this done on my 2013 Hyundai Veloster and was charged $220. It took an hour or so.
I am facing the issue of occasional left pulling in Hyundai Elantra after calibrating the steering angle sensor as well, it is any symptom of bad flexible coupling..
the coupler don't show any code or trigger and light on the dashboard the rocking noise from the steering column is the only way you will know it need replacement thank for your comment.
@@daprincehwc I meant the replacing part code, I am not sure what coupler I should order for my type of car. I have the same rocking noise from the steering wheel + EPS indicator active on by board.
I hope you did not forget any wire not connecting back. and if wires are properly connected you can take the battery connector of the battery over night hope it clear the warning light but be sure all wires are connected properly not mis match.
I have to ask if the car is hybrid if yes its likely to be the battery. if not then if you replace the parts needed for the job then you might have to reset the steering angle ( it will require diagnostic tool with that function).
@@daprincehwc hey thanks for the response the motor was not aligned properly now the steering has unlocked so all good just have to find a way to make eps light go off now
Thank you for guiding me through accessing the steering column. I needed to replace the ignition switch that kept engaging my starter.
Thanks mate excellent video.
Keep up the good work.

I believe you will need to, but you can try and access it first if it works for you so you don't have to go through that steering lowering,

What am saying is, if you are doing this yourself, it should take roughly 30 to 45,min, if you know your way around car repair.

I replaced it but now the warning light is on. The steering works perfectly. How to shut the light off?
