I see how it can be concerning when characters want to leave a mark on history, but Kraft's concern is still in line with what we've already been shown earlier on. Like with Frieren asking if that one town will still remember to celebrate her friends a thousand years from now. But, like, who knows if the town will even be there in 500 years.

I believe that the episode is trying to poke at the concepts of Evanescence and Permanence in terms of a being's existence... like, the episode asks us the question: Is the selfishness that comes from wanting to be remembered different depending on the lifespan of the person who's wishing for it?

Like Kraft said, we elves. But Frieren is starting to decide it doesn't really matter if Fern dies 50-70 years from now, she still wants to get to know her.

Kraft is just explaining why he believes in the goddess. The idea is that Kraft at one point tried to find glory, then found himself jaded because he realized he's gonna outlive his deeds as an elf. Now he just finds comfort believing in the goddess. Its kinda like how if you're a true believer, you never believe you're alone.

Well kraft already leave a "mark" in history, its just that was so so long ago that no one remember it.

18:50 The animation for so many mundane things is just so good and so smooth.

Try playing with the pitch of the audio, you might find that it works better at avoiding the youtube checks.

24:35 And this is why Fern knew how to and took the effort to suppress her mana since before Frieren met her.

Winter no longer exists in Germany. The snow rarely comes because most winters are too warm due to climate change

"it must have been a fierce battle" Nope just a one sided slaughter. Also Kraft called Frieren young :O

15:00 Rudeas would just create walls around them like he offered to do for "Fitz" in the cave.

Spoiler for the end of this season
That’s a great observation about being remembered! I didn’t even realize it until you mentioned it, but Lernen perfectly encompasses that later on as Serie’s apprentice!

13:05 "In the war against the German Führer's/Napoleon's/any other invader's forces, what do you think claimed the most lives? It was the Russian winters."
And the 10-30 at night and still light... my Dad said the same thing about that when he was in the USAF stationed at RAF Sculthorpe in 1959-1961 (I think it was) when it was tactical nuke base. (He told me how things were so distorted in the fog and how he almost shot a gas pump on the flight line one night when it refused identification in response to a challenge.) The closer you get to the poles the more extreme the day/night durations become. It's easy to see why with a day/night projection on a globe.

A real "hero" is someone who's scared shitless but still does what needs to be done. Stark and Eisen both meet that criteria.
