Great videos Grant, my 6 year old son dreams to meet you someday, he just may love fire safety as much as you. He amazes me everyday with all his knowledge, most of he's learned watching ALL your excellent videos. Keep up the great work!
Awesome! Nice your helping the community in this way as unfortunately many home smoke alarms become obsolete and/or inoperable over time when not used or cared for. Great way to spread recognition of their importance.
Glad to see that you are helping people out with their smoke alarms. This is definitely called saving lives. I often see that people don’t replace their smoke alarm every 10 years. I had to make sure my family my family members are replacing their smoke alarms every 10 years. I’m currently trying to get my Aunt to replace the rest of her expired smoke alarms which they are very yellow and I also asked if I could keep them as well for my collection
To go with the recent giveaway, THIS is my favourite S.E.R. video! Just because I get to see some weird and unique smoke detectors! I find weird or interesting ones very interesting.
Thats is very nice that you are doing this for people that don't have the necessary tools to do it themselves!!!!!!! deserve a least 1 million thumbs up for you!!!! like this post if you agree!!
I know The American Red Cross appreciates your assistance in this lifesaving program... This is a Nationwide program that all chapters participate in so if your viewers want to volunteer they are welcome and encouraged to apply at redcross.org and click on Volunteer. I believe anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent, but your local Red Cross volunteer services representative can answer any questions you have on volunteering. Thanks again!
Nice catches of the BNSF trains. If you like trains then you should go railfanning. But if you are not very interested in trains I am totally cool with that
Great work! Cool to see what you’re doing for the community. Plus you got some pretty cool alarms in exchange. I need to see what I can do here in Rochester, maybe hook up with their Red Cross or their fire department here.
What a neat idea! My grandpa could use something like this. He has a house full of really old ionization first alert detectors that say to be replaced in 2003.
My grandparent's smoke alarm was made by Black & Decker in 1988, and I told them that it needs replaced. It still works great for a 30 year old smoke alarm lol
One of mine are from the original construction company. THAT WAS 1997! And it is 25 years old but its above stairs and it does not help that its on the ceiling. Not the wall and it's a slanted roof with the kitchen in the same slanted roof so if it gets to hot or you burn the slightest bit of something it will go off. Whoever designed my house I'm coming after you
Hey is this something you can volunteer to do for free? I’m looking to try this for two reasons. Reason one, is that I live in California, and there’s always a heavy fire danger here. Reason two is that I’m also looking to grow my smoke alarm collection
I need to replace my detectors, we had to shut down their power because of issues with them chirping all the time. We even replaced the batteries on them and they still refused to work properly, so I'm assuming there's something wrong with the internal wiring.
So you moved to Washington? Can't imagine having to stop for a day while you were moving. You really did mean it when you said you were moving far away
@@foco5657 how do I avoid that? Do I just have to take a lighter and turn it on in front of the sensor? If I do, will it turn off as soon as it no longer detects carbon monoxide or flame?
All of the alarms in my country must have long-lasting non-replaceable batteries so people will know when the battery is dead and they need a new one. This also fixes the "Over 10 years old" problem as the battery is designed to last 10 years or so.
Austin Shutt Because sensors in the detector will go bad after a while and may not function properly if a fire does occur. The same thing goes for carbon monoxide detectors.

Spray some canned smoke at it or even a blown out match. You won’t think it works so great after that.
Good video and love your fire alarm video

Good job SAR safety

Is the date inside the smoke alarm? Isn’t there a manufacture of one of the brands that will replace the device (not installation) for free?
