I have a 7002T. It’s so loud that it shakes the floor under it and I physically can’t go anywhere near it (tbh I can’t even enter my room) when it’s going off and I don’t have any hearing protection on. I can’t imagine having tons of these in a building going off at once. those would make you cover your ears for sure if you don’t have ear protection
The wheelock 7002T is my top favorite vintage alarm series. The funny thing is, I actually don’t have one in my collection yet and I want one really bad.
Those 7002T's sounded amazing in there! Even if it was on FWR (though it would be raspier), I bet it would sound epic in there. I like the workaround to send filtered DC over to the Horn/Strobes (did this with my Monaco Vulcan 1 panel for a simplex strobe). Though I've seen the 7002T commonly paired up with the BG-10, the BG-6 is a really welcome addition to this test setup (there's probably a system or two out there with the BG-6 and 7002T's, probably installed more towards the Mid-1980's). Overall, nice test setup, looks and sounds great!
My high school has a lot of these. There are also Wheelock MTs (both the older and the newer versions), Simplex 4903-9219/9838 horn strobes, Simplex TrueAlert horn strobes, Wheelock CH-70 chime strobes, EST Genesis horn strobes, and Wheelock CH-70 chimes. (Note: the chimes are the kind that have no strobe).
My local grocery store had 7002Ts. I don’t remember the pulls and there’s no way to know what they had for pull stations because they shut down. I think they had either a BG-12 or a BG-10.
My grade school had those alarms and I absolutely hated them. I saw the design on the thumbnail and I wanted to confirm my horrible fire drill memories from my childhood 😂
Strangely enough, I still see these vintage alarms being made...but not for fire alarms. I work for the TX. grocery giant, H-E-B, and they typically use..."modern" 7002Ts with dual or tri strobes (one marked "door", one marked "leak", and one marked "help") on their walk-in freezers in their stores. I almost usually see the "door" strobe flash, but the horn doesn't sound right away unless the walk-in is left open for several seconds.
All of them are continuous, so I dont know how the teachers have ears that can hear because the alarm at my school have the top 4 loudest alarm in the whole alarm system.
Haha I teach elementary school and the school I teach at has this exact alarm. A week ago, a little kid who did not know what the alarm was pulled it and our whole school ended up evacuating. It was during my planning time so my class was at Physical Education or P.E.
I have the wheelock 7002T-12 which is the 12 volt version. But the “FIRE” lettering is worn from the strobe covering so it no long reads “FIRE”. But it makes the exact same sound.
Yep can tell my Middle school is old 7002ts are my fire system at my school with two MT's that replaced old 7002Ts and two FOS and pull stations are Johnson Controls and FCI MS-2's one 270 SPO and one BG-12
My late grandmother's long closed furniture shop was full of wheelock 7002ts and simplex 9838s. Panel was a simplex 2001. Pulls were simplex chevrons along with fire lite bg10s that system was freaking loud. We did have a couple simplex 4030-2bs also. But those were in the stock rooms.
@@SirensAndAlarmsOfNorthernIL oh it made your freaking ears bleed that's how loud it was. Got your attention tho. I remember one time we had our Yearly Fire Inspection with the Fire Marshall and he had me activate the system i'm like you might wanna put some ear protection on. he's like it's not that loud i'm like your don't realise this system is a older system and i've got all electromechical horns. he pulls a station and reset the station. and he's standing right under a 4030-2B the reacation of the Ann Arbor, Michigan Fire Marshall was fricking priceless he's like Holy F***ing S*** that system is f***ing loud. My God D*** ears are ringing. as i'm shutting the system up via the Control Panel in my office. He's like that doesn't bother you in this small room i'm like I have a Wheelock Chime Strobe in this room the restrooms have Remote Strobes. the breakroom was a 9838 plus i kept the door to my office shut anyway as it had it's own heat and a/c thanks to a Mini Split. even though I had a ceiling vent connected to the lower level HVAC system.
@@jcc3279 yea and for a comparison, 7002Ts are painful, but 4030s are MUCH louder. They’re almost as loud as an adaptahorn which is so loud that you would need like 4 of them to cover a large school. Also the Fire Marshall’s reaction was funny. He probably doesn’t know much about how loud are older AC vibrating horns
Since the system is in a garage, it might be good to wire a CO detector into the system. Of course, it's your system so you do what you want with it! Great video as always :)
Cars that aren't fully electric put out CO, so it would set off the alarm every time the car starts (he doesn't have an electric car from what I can tell).
We had these horns in my school good lord they were loud I have autism and I am scared of loud noises and I was a kid then so every time we had. Fire drill and these horns went off it about gave me a heart attack
Is why, but I love the ticking sound of the alarm when the strobe flashes. Makes it feel more authentic and old!
This video is my favorite thus far! Those 7002T's are music to my ears!
I saw these at a store today they looked really cool with a backbox!
Great system test as always. Thanks for doing it. I love the 7002ts. Looking forward to your next voice evac system test
This is my favorite video. These alarms are so cool and vintage.
My old apartment had these alarms and I was petrified of these alarms they were SOOOOOOO loud. Some times I would cry that's how scard I was.
Same here
Spectralert advances are worse
I get scared and panic and sometimes cry

Awesome setup! Love these alarms and the break glass for key 🤓
There are a good amount of Wheelock notification appliances I like, but my #1 favorite has to be the 7002T-24.
My first workplace had the same exact setup (minus the panel) love your videos and keep up the great work

The most common fire alarm system In downtown where I live is the Wheelock 7002T-24 and the Fire-Lite BG-10L.

7002T fire alarms had weird sounds
This is my all time favorite video because i love wheelock 7002 series

It reminds me of the fire alarm war in 2012...
Dudeeeee i hated these
So did mine, Eagle Lake Christian School
I’m in high school and we have this alarm and I hate it so much
Awesome!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I LOVE THIS!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I think this video is the first ever that I watched on your channel.
I just got a Very Amazing Condition Wheelock 7002T for My Birthday!
Btw love this System. They sound really cool together!!
The funniest sounding fire alarms
The 7002t - 24 got to be one of my favorite alarms I have four of them or maybe five!
They are known for the skipping I think
My school had a ‘’Reunification Drill’’ today and these alarms were going off during library class today!
Awesome video SER Safety!! My brother loves the sound of these alarms!! 11/10
You are so talented! Can you make a video on how to set the fire alarms up?
Oh nice strobe skipping that sounds nice xd
Cool! I might end up with a couple of these soon.

Those might very well be 7004Ts. That’s an AC version of the 7002T. Those are still made iirc, and most are used for mass notification
Our school was built in 1996, and I’ve seen a variety of different alarms
My school is older than that, and has like 5 different alarms.
Plus a bonus from the overhead speaker.

My elementary school still has those and I remember what they sounded like
That awesome. I love 7002ts. But here a thing you can get a trim plate for the 7002t and the system sensor mass. Anyway Awesome video.

Hello from England
Since the system is in a garage, it might be good to wire a CO detector into the system. Of course, it's your system so you do what you want with it! Great video as always :)
Gentex Guy CO detectors aren’t very convenient for a garage because of cars.
Tim
Cars that aren't fully electric put out CO, so it would set off the alarm every time the car starts (he doesn't have an electric car from what I can tell).
No
@@pvh_facp4001yt that's why CO detectors should be in garages because cars produce CO which is deadly
