If you notice closey, you can hear how fast the panel piezo activates when he pulls the pull station's compared to when he has the system on clip on older systems. This is the benefit of newer addersable protocols as every second counts in an emergency and the every second faster the system activates, the faster the emergency can be resolved. While it may not be a huge difference on this small system, on a system on maximum capacity, it will be a huge difference.
@@traythegamerplayzthat’s probably why the newer speaker strobes in the newer and older ares of my school activated faster than the older simplex truealerts in a fire drill. I can hear the speakers beep two seconds before the true alerts sound.
In my experience lightspeed protocol has caused more harm than good with many systems especially with type A SLCs. Often times the constant pinging of each device develops issues and I've noticed that the EOL resistors have actually died from it. On a previous project for a manufacturing facility, they had over 2 dozen SLCs and the EOL resistors had all failed somewhat back to back over the span of a year after the ping rate was increased to the max setting. We couldn't attribute it to one piece of faulty equipment because the SLCs ran on a lot of different control panels linked together as well as extenders on each to prevent a voltage drop in the pings. We went to that location 5 times before we finally reviewed the maintenance history, and then it hit us. The resistors that failed had overheated, presumably due to months of handling rapid data pulses. We ended up replacing the resistors on each of the SLCs and reduced the ping rate. Never got another call there since. Another tachy-ping incident happened on another site during an overhaul where we missed a single pull which thought the constant pings scared it and caused a capacitor to short(thereby eating all signals and making the control panel unable to understand the data. it killed the whole line until we finally found it hidden behind a shipping container.
How do you set up the voice evac ? do you need the 9200 UDLS panel? just the speaker? currently have an SK-4 panel wired in my house. haven’t worked on this in YEARS
How long have you been making videos? I used to watch this kid with “Sk8r” in the name or something. It was so long ago but he did fire alarm videos exactly like this. It was like 12-13 years ago
My church has this fire alarm system but the wheelock speaker strobes are rebranded by Siemens and the panel is a Siemens mxl voice evacuation fire alarm panel
I found a document online recently that has some information about my school's fire alarm system. The document said that the district has standardized on Gamewell FCI E2 or E3 I think systems, however, along with the very loud 3 beeps, there is a tone that plays 3 times but this tone is at 1,000 hz, and after the 3 times it plays, it says "May I have your attention please, may I have your attention please, there has been a fire reported in the building. Please make your way to the nearest exit" then the tone plays again 3 times, then break, then 3 times, and then the female voice again...
So believe it or not when my school was doing final test since I am so experienced yeah asked me we won light speed and I’m like OK sure when we want to go do the annual testing one of them literally blew LED and it fire the whole entire system, likely after that test that was the last test of the whole entire system

That's pretty cool, eh?

The BG10s don’t deserve to be hated I don’t even have one of my collection. I still want one.
Grant deserves an award for making these videos. This is a masterpiece.
What a neat system test! I enjoy hearing those E50's, a lot! Nice one, Grant!

Hi S.E.R Safety 👋. I have a question. Are you able to replace the current Fire-Lite annunciator with the Fire-Lite ANN-AD annunciator?
The BG 10s are hated

We have wheelock a.s'ses in my school, in the classrooms.
Love it!!!❤❤❤❤
I got wheelock as in my elementary school
