  • This is my first time writing a script. I may have been a little inaccurate on some of the things I mentioned here but the history is not really important in this video. In this video I talk about various models of smoke alarms specifically more well known ones and categorize them in 5 different categories. Those being common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare, and nearly extinct. I hope I did a good job lol. Let me know in comments what you thought of the video. If you guys find this enjoyable, I’ll make more videos like this.
    I did use other people’s images and work like the random MrBeast image later in the video lol… so all credits given to: (@ symbol means Instagram account)

    lots of valid information here. One thing I'd mention is the Dong Bang DB-SSA-77A, which is probably the rarest battery operated model to exist.

    Nortron TR77 or TRBB at 0:36. I would love to know where that was. Somewhere in Canada likely. If found in the US that would be extrremely rare. I have yet to see one pop up on Ebay as I got my TR88 new and never used in box at a second hand shop. I will say one thing I am all for the vintage 1970s detectors. Ones of today don't even compare. Very cool video as well!!

    Vintage collectors shouldn’t destroy modern smoke alarms. I know they look cool and all but if you bought the alarm just to smash it, then that’s wasting your money! 😠

    Interesting video! I've happened to have come across some rare units myself. My house used to have 2 FX104 alarms. Those suckers were 30 years old and STILL worked, but one had a busted test button. Both were replaced. I regret throwing them away now, as they were cool and still loud as hell. There was also a BRK FACO carbon monoxide alarm too, unfortunately the battery drawer broke, so we had to toss it(wish i kept it though).
    Also, my grandparents used to have to have a sears "early one" 9-57002 smoke alarm, which to my knowledge are VERY RARE. Wish i got it from them, really kicking myself for that.

    • @Photoelectric_Elevators
      @Photoelectric_Elevators  Год назад

      bruhhh lol. Yea 9-57002’s are probably in the Ultra Rare category in my terms. FX1014’s are also pretty rare too.

  • @MisterBrownJack

    Brilliant video! I did really enjoy this, and have learned quite alot more about rarety of smoke alarms and was also very descriptive. I do own a quite alot of alarms myself within my own collection like for example the FireX FADC230, Family Gard, and a First Alert SA150CEGN but as a UK collector getting hold of these rare alarms are alot more harder to get hold due to a fair amount being non-existent here and also very expensive shipping prices for ones in the states. While alarms in the 'ultra rare' category are basically impossible to get unless if I'm willing to pay more than £100 in shipping to get one here 😂 Even so keep up the good work and I'd love to see more videos like this in the future! :)

    Great vid! However, I do not believe TC49As started fires, on the picture, notice how the grey stuff is only near the sensor.
    It's just dust sticking to the wall due to the higher amount of radiation, the early Honeywell detectors had a much larger amount of Americium.

    Hi! I am asking for assistance identifying an alarm which I believe may hold some rarity- it looks IDENTICAL to the masterguard fire alarm- (There is one shown on S.E.R Safety that is the master guard one) the only difference is that on the sticker, it has a logo that says "Responsive" (the logo is in orange and the "o" is in the shape of the earth) its from 1988- do you have any clue why it has a different logo or anything about it? I cannot find a single trace of the brand "responsive" existing anywhere on the internet.
