One time, I saw a video on here with one of the enthusiasts who did his home system. He went to test the heat detector and accidentally permanently activated it. When he swore and used the alarm sounds to censor himself, I couldn't stop laughing for a few minutes.
Whoa that disc popped fast. Always wondered growing up though; if I pulled on the disc of one of these detectors to the point where the disc actually broke off would that also latch the unit into alarm?
I'm really curious about the "Leave on, do not turn off" written on the light switch in the cupboard just next to the FAP in the house. By chance, is this feeding power to the panel?
The fire alarm panel is a dedicated circuit the switch is switching a receptacle that use to be power for the furnace would've been a disconnect now is just powering condensate pump and fire door magnet and furnace shut down control but it can and likely will be removed at some point
I'm guessing you are referring to addressable units. the fact they aren't one time use fixed temperature is nice however even on brand new installs we will often go for mechanical conventional units due to better reliability if they are being installed in a harsh environment such as an attic or crawlspace
Hey Nic, love your vids on your garage system, but I have a question. When are you and Hayden gonna post another Durability Testing video? Those videos you and Hayden do are just pure comedy and makes me laugh. I was hoping you would test a device that doesn't work or that you don't use.
- I have seen sometimes a Notifier smoke detector will randomly poll green very rapidly for 1-2 seconds. Why is this? I see some detectors in a building do it more than others.

" I don't think it's cooked enough " Nic Durability Testing 🗿🗿🗿
Yes I have waited for a video like this
That fixed temp disk popped off quick. That’s one hot torch.

It seems like that can do it from what I've seen with the Edwards ones at least
*Accidentally lights the wood above the detector on fire*
That wasn't supposed to happen
I know you have a fire extinguisher, but. COMMON SENSE, dude.
Wait till you see how plumbers have to solder copper...
5:28 that was so fast
Lets gooooooo 🤩 Nic's out with another new vid 🤩
Loved it 😊
Nic thank you for this video. Now I'll buy the residential version for my home garage. And I'll tie into the main system at home.
"Don't Try this at Home!" *Proceeds to try at home*

Great real testing video! Definitely a neat video!
Nice video. I just got a red door for my red cabinet with my NFS2-640.
Please keep up the videos thank you to you is am getting a great er appreciation of how the alarms work !!
5:20 Okay that got me to laugh out loud LOL
Best channel ever
Do you have to always call local FD when you do tests like these or are they not programmed to get notified?
It’s a local alarm only, it does not dial 911

ours are 194 F for the attic sensors but ours are the new resettable units the one you show are no longer code in my area and they are replaced:)

Can you do more durability testing videos and durability test a fire alarm strobe/horn combo?
Probably not
@@nics-systems-electric Ok, so were there any problems with those videos?
Very interesting bc i wanna lern fire alarms
How I test my heat detector: rub hands together fast and hit the detector
Could you do a video of setting a smoke alarm and pull station on fire and see if those active?
June test idea:
House: master bedroom smoke
Garage: Main area smoke
This isn't on the June testing video so I won't see the comment when I look back in a month
Used up a bit of my mobile Data but I couldnt wait till I got home..
Hey nic wen you activated the detector when you went to the panel screen it said pull station is that a problem
I'd suggest you look at it a little closer. it says pull station/heat tower/shed.
Nice Phantom
You went full marshmallow on it!

Is that a heat detector I sold? I recognize that dent
I didn't buy it
Interesting, I just assumed they were all just thermistor based detectors
What’s the controls active light for on the 320C?
I believe it's used when you have an annunciator where the controls can be enabled or disabled
The only way to test a heat
