I was fortunate to be able to start getting working experience and apprenticeship hours early it's definitely something you can do in high school but is more difficult
I'm good... that's a lot of work and work isn't free nor is the material. People don't want that in their house many don't even have residential devices.
- this is a stupid question that i haven't been able to find an answer to: i have a 60 watt led moving head dj spot light. i am always worried that if it shines light directly at a fire sprinkler head, it might set it off. but if i put my hand in front of the light, the light on my hand is only slightly warm. so there is not really a possibility of it being hot enough to pop a sprinkler, right?
hey nic, was just wondering if your fire alarm system has ever been set off for a real reason such as an actual fire you did not know about until the alarm wet off
We had multiple power loss lately quickly surges of power. I was at the front of my school when one happened and i could hear the horn on the annunciator. Our school is from the 1970s and it has an old simplex system with mechanical horns. I watched the emergency lights turn off then the panel went into trouble. Probably AC fault or something.
It was spread out throughout a couple weeks and later additions done after the fact, as I was doing it around my schedule of working, but if it was all condensed into one timeline probably a week or two
Hi Nick wanted to ask you your opinion on something I found a fire protection engineer he stated based on hi resarcher he suggested co alarms as as addtional fire sensor in a smoldering fire scenario I know the manf will not state to use in such a fashion but I did seem to find 2 cases where Ithe I stated that a was able to provide an alarm during a smoldering fire any thoughts?
The fog machine should not be turned on any angle other than upright. It also wouldn't be a realistic situation as your smoke is never going to be forced downwards.
any way did you have any thoughts on my previous comment in case you did not see it I said a fire protection engineer stated he recommended co alarms in addtion to photo elecric alarms the manf does not say to use it that way but that what he suggested in case you are unclear the title of his report was experimental use of co alarmd for detection of smoldering fires any ideas? he suggested co alarm in the same places as photo electric alarms Any ideas ? All I can say is I did find 2 cases where it seemed a co alarm did provide a warning of a smoldering fire !!! ( but I guess the true answer is its one of those things it might work if your lucky ??? So the idea I came up with in my home was put a combined photo electric co alarm which one will alert first in a fire well all I can say is a manf stated that in a combined alarm its an international standard that smoke takes priority over co could co provide an early alarm I don't think we can be 100 % certain it seems it does provide alarm sometimes but certainaly that manf will not say to use it that way but its my thinking it cant hurt to have an extra alarm ?) anyway ideas please thank you!!!
That’s exactly why I want that kind of fire alarm system in my house too. And you should know I did see some smoke rising from the vent when your dog laid on it.
thank you nic for existing and teaching us about fire alarms!

@@nics-systems-electric what does the slc isolatior do?
@@Lolzkey When there`s a short in the SLC, it detects it and isolates the sircuit from the panel, so it doesent kill the whole panel.

You should install systems for your neighbors. They still have residential smoke alarms right?

That one looks a lot similar to mine. Mine’s a Rockville R720L
Cool! This is something nobody has done yet.
Yes his vids are good
It’s cool that you have a fire alarm system in your house!

I like when the fog went in the vent that was a cool video

Depends on the distance if it's within a couple feet probably not good but if it keeps moving around I doubt it would have a problem
@@nics-systems-electric so if the light is on the floor with 9 foot ceilings, it's likely not a problem?
@@wibwabz unless it's getting the sprinkler head over 68° most likely it's not going to be a problem

hey nic, was just wondering if your fire alarm system has ever been set off for a real reason such as an actual fire you did not know about until the alarm wet off
No, there has been smoke from cooking. That is all.

You must be a pro. I thought way longer.
If I misseD it doesn't the duct alarm shut off the hvac system which should prevent smoke from spread ing ? Does that sound right?
Yup

I got Nic's channel linked to Dyno so whenever he posts, I see it quickly :)
Thats smart
if you have enough money you can add auto duct doors to prevent smoke moving itself
Do you mean a damper? Not something that's typically done in a long duct run
Your also to be congratulations as you figured out how to transfer this to you tube!

Can i get a demo of your central vac?

I don't have any experience with that so I'm not sure but I'm sure some gases can be released from fires creating carbon monoxide
One thing that I noticed about the display, it said “HAVC DUCT” instead of “HVAC DUCT”
Yep it's fixed
@@nics-systems-electric ok cool
Hi like the video HVAC ducked detector
They were working on our fire alarm sprinklers and didn't bypass the flow sensor so we had a false alarm. Our system is a notifier.
It happens
@@nics-systems-electric can you do a compilation of all the false alarms you have had

is the heat pump condensor unit on the roof? btw nice video

Duct deteter of smoke!!!!!
Also a suggestion: put fire alarms on the outside of your house
That's not needed because you don't need to evacuate from the outside of the building
