Why can't Lincoln High School football team play on their home field?

  • Why does the 2022 CIF State Football Champions, San Diego’s Lincoln High School, not have a home field to play on?
The main answer to that question is underneath the field. Water damage, paired with wet weather over the last couple of years in San Diego has left the field in disrepair.
"Everyone that we've played has said, 'This field is horrible. It's horrible and it's not safe,'" said David Dunn, the head football coach for Abraham Lincoln High School.

It's called leadership, planning. They don't have it. Think about your school board, superintendent next time you vote. Put the right people in charge, problem solved.

Might this have something to do with the fact that Lincoln High School is in one of the poorest areas of San Diego? Or maybe because the majority of students and faculty are black? Both?!

They tore down the school to the foundation and rebuilt it in 2006 - hardly think they'd do that if your speculations were true.

@@WinnasYes but that grant to build the school in the millions was hidden from them for about a decade. Look it up. There is always something behind something but you sound like one of those Americans who are in denial of certain facts of history. Too funny.

Where's the dirt and mud on the synthetic field? These conditions are dangerous. Shame on the district. So much talent in the southeast and they get no support. The baseball field is also a hazard.

That’s because everybody played on grass and mud and dirt at that time. Nobody had artificial turf yet now that everyone has turf. There should be as adequate as everyone else’s now granted when Lincoln got rebuilt, the field was new, but that was back in the 2008 2009 school year they don’t even install that type of turf anymore, it’s outdated. Yes, it paid for itself. Yes, it worked but everyone knows that turf doesn’t last very long. I didn’t even go to Lincoln li went to Morse across town, but you still have to stand up for what’s right in southeast San Diego

That was back then, this is 2024....and you are incorrect! My cousins played football late 50's and the field was ok, but of course, in the late 50's the student/staff population was more than 75% white.
