Started workout after seeing this two years ago. Couldn't even bench 115lb back then. Now just hit 225lbs yesterday, deadlifting 315lbs. Will keep going!
Really?
U must be hitting the rounds to
315lbs deadlift in a span of 2 year ?
How many dosages of dynabol clean tren you had bro ???
I’ve been working out for 7 months hit 200 lb bench 335 deadlift and I only started training deadlift a month ago
Jin I need to find a solution on my splits tho I do push pull and I’ve been doing it for a long time do u have any other splits you recommend??
wish i had such a great group of proactive friends, building each other up in all aspects of life
If you ever need me for motivation I'm always here brother! God bless and train hard!
me too...im doing it for a month...and im feel great...now im only thinking about pumping...
but what made Arnold special is that he couldve done it without them.
stiff meister i masterbat dat enough
A pitty he used steroids though. I just found it out on wikipedia. I only think its nessecary in those mr universe competitions. I refuse to use that. I watch what i eat, and the only thing i would do are proteine-shackes.
RIP Franco, you were a huge part of my teenage years and an inspiration. Sleep well bro.
How old are u now Sir?
@@oktay0280 I'm 49 and live in the UK. When I was 15 I got into lifting weights and joined the local gym and started working out with a friend. Needless to say information back then was very limited but there was a guy who used to import used magazines from America and sell them on his market stall on a Saturday morning so we used to buy one each. We were blown away by Arnold & Co but my favourite was always Franco. His chest and his lats were awe-inspiring and when I finally got to see Pumping Iron and watch them workout it was incredible to see. They must have been the best days of their lives back then. He was a wonderful guy.
@@1TheWhiteKnight1 thnx for answer sir. Great story
Columbo isn’t asleep, quite the contrary. When we die we are reclaimed back into the energy fabric of the universe where sleep is only for organisms.
@@stangable5564 so what happens next?
Actual documentary "Pumping Iron" starts at 13:20ish
Thanks bro
cheers big ears i came here to see some weights been lifted ayyeoo
Michael Higgo
THANK YOU!!!!
Not even at 14:20. This video is not the documentary 'Pumping Iron' it's a behind the scenes and making of.
Arnold the type of guy to cover his homeboy's eyes from behind and say "guess who?"
Hahahaha thanls for that
You'd have to be deaf if you couldn't figure that out...lol
Just like Drake
Arnold was a genius. I don't know if there was anyone in bodybuilding history who had more ambition, drive, and charisma than Arnold. Even to this very day, there's never been anyone in bodybuilding like him.
Frank Zane" for me
😎Arnold.. The 👑 king... The Wonder in the World
@@vinodshinde6512 FOR YOU YES"
... FRANK FOR ME"...
Ronnie Coleman
@@sasquatch4745 Frank was certainly a terrific personality for bodybuilding, but Arnold went way far beyond the competition. He became an actor, a businessman, a politician, a promoter and so on. Zane had a different personality, less charismatic and extroverted than Arnold, that's for sure
"Thats my son, he lifts a car" laughed way too hard hahahahaa
😂😂😂😂😂...
People need to watch this and see that bodybuilders are not a bunch of meatheads that go " oh look at me im strongest in world." These are real genuine men. God bless all of them.
lebron6548 some are. seems like the bigger guys in local gyms are normally pretty douchey though.
lebron6548 More are than not!
It's safe to say that there's 2 kinds, the asshole ones that do it just to bully regular, weaker people, and then the nice, confident ones that just do it as their hobby.
Funny you say that, they are not nearly the strongest in the world and secondly bodybuilding is also a lot about psychology, they need to mess with each other. Not that they aren’t genuine.
Those who say that have never been to a gym guys are nice and humble there
Massive respect for Lou, the filmmakers were very unfair to him.
Yeah ,that shit was twisted up.....almost twisted backwards. It was Lou who needed support
Totally agree, the movie was "made for Arnold". Almost promoting him... Arnold is just playing another movie. So I´m totally disagree with the script. Still there are people who really believes this "drama" is for real!
How is that?
They were unfair to serge nubret
Hey is it the original documentry
I wish more bodybuilders would be open and honest about steroids like Arnold.
@I am Jobu dude did Rich died from steroids usage or other causes?
I am Jobu dude the comment was meant to be sarcastic...arnold is clean no steroids
@@elisaint7761 Arnold is my favorite natty bodybuilder
Arnold was on steroids and has touched on it lol
Arnold wasnt honest either, dude was telling us to eat 30 egg whites instead of saying use the JUICE!
Lou is actually an unsung hero in this film. And in building. His personal development and physical development is unique and greatly respected by me. I watched this for Lou too.
Agree, total respect for man.
@@kevb1249 Dude Lou was an absolute beast in this film. I know he ultimately didn't win but the guy fought hard and ended up becoming a household name in movies as well. Definitely an inspiration. Same with Franco too who passed away last year. Both great guys
Lou has the last laugh. Looks the healthiest out of all of them.
Didn’t someone tell Arnold “I don’t want to get that big” and answered back with “don’t worry you never will”
This group of guys still inspire me to this day. From 1981-1985 I was engrossed in the world of bodybuilding myself. I won a few titles. As a result I became a bodybuilding judge for local New England competitions. It was one of the greatest times of my life. At my last competition, I had the honor of meeting Franco. I met Louie a few times as well as Arnold himself. The last competition I went to was the 2001 Mr Olympia in Las Vegas. A friend and training partner of mine was competing. Pumping Iron is where it all began for me! Thank you Arnold, Louie, Franco, and company!
Franco and Ed Rest in Peace, eternal champions!💪🏻💙
Who was your friend/training partner that competed in the Mr. O in '01?
Rest in peace Franco. You'll always be one of the greatest.🙏
SON : when I grow up I want to move to California be the greatest bodybuilder of all time then retire & be the biggest movie star if all time then I’ll marry a Kennedy then I think I’ll become the governor of California
FATHER : dream on son 😂😂😂
PROUD_BRIT crazy shit
... go chop some wood or something....
Hey party snacks are party snacks
Son: Hey dad.. I'll be back.
Good father: HELL YEAH
I've just rented and watched Pumping Iron for the first time. In 1983 this was on TV in England and as a young 16 year old boy just starting out using weights I was keen to watch it but had to work so missed it. Well, 38 years later I finally have! Truly inspirational.
I found it sad...that Lou didn't want to win...it didn't matter about the title...he just wanted to be like Arnold...having fun and working out and just being socially happy.
I like that he saw that and said, I need to work on myself :)
I'm impressed that planes were that advanced back in the day to carry all that weight without crashing
finally an alternative joke to "they let you carry those guns on a plane?"
@@partsparis a feat most Americans can also accomplish, so not that impressive.
“Do you have to talk at all?
Arnold: “No. Only if you’re the winner. So I talk a lot.”
I need to channel this man
I wish we could go back to that golden age
beautiful, everyone coming together regardless of race or origin, no judgement just fun and doing what they loved. amazing.
It really is truly amazing the bond between these guys. They were genuinely trying to better each other. Amazing to see.
Pumping Iron, a documentary film that literally changed the world. If George Butler had done nothing else, it would still make him one of the most important film makers in sports history.
Gaius Scipio pumping iron isnt a documentary movie
@@goranpavlovic9051 it's a docudrama
@@mindlessrover2001 it's a horror/thriller
The funniest part in Pumping Iron is when Lou’s dad poses biceps and says, “...BOOM...”
Watching pumping iron and this documentary after 25 years only tells me one thing, no matter what life moves on.
wish I can go back in time and just transport myself to this era and just train with them
Yeah! Sure, they were waiting for you actually
Bodybuilding was real small back then. Not like today where everybody lifts weights more or less. Back then it was not accepted, people would look at you like your crazy.
So if you would live in the 70s chances are real slim that you actuly would become a bodybuilder
Arnold schwarzenegger has been my hero ever since I was a kid ....I admire him someone that came from nothing and became successful not from you tube lol hard work hard work ......
Don't forget Bohemian Grove.
The greatest era in bodybuilding!
My first look in the world of Pumping. In 1977 I was so busy being a Dad,work was very physical & I was a runner. 1985 I lost 75 lbs with lifting, eating correctly & ran 5 km.
Looking back i was in my owe world of Pumping since. 1992 I lost 100 lbs doing the same.
I loved this movie 2020.
what is this? a doc within a doc?, pumpception?
Sammy B hahaha
whoa
When i was a kid in the 80's I wanted to be Arnold Schwarzenegger, name one boy who didnt
Bucky Trudeau
Damn i would love to watch the entire original 100 hr film
28:13 history in the making. One of the nastiest hamburgers recorded
One thing I always found was that Pumping Iron is made to look like Arnold is the hero and Lou is the rival..villain. However in the documentary when you see their personalities. Lou is more of the Rocky type character and Arnold is more Apollo.
Very true
The 70s was a beautiful era, this is what got me into training, my dad showed me this when i was 8 and fell in love with it. The comradery, the bodies, the love for the sport… my good
Arnie is possibly my favourite actor of all time. He's just brilliant
Arnolds Conan was still the best movie i ever watch back when i was a kid.
Too bad they didn't show more of Serge Nubret , what a physique he had .
Anugran Mathimugan They offered him only 200 dollars, which insulted him- being he was a big star. So, they to take his parts out. I wish they had been able to include it. It would have probably been incredible
The best*
his abs (while being defined obviously) were weird looking and deformed.. and He had no upper chest and no definition on his thighs.. I think the only thing I liked about him was his bicep peak and his thin waist.. but thats it.
@Mark Simmons nooooooo arnold had a better body.. if you look at them side by side you would see.. Arnold had a better upper chest... more defined thighs... a little bit better calves... and even though his abs weren't as ripped.. they were more semetrical.. and he had a better posing routine.. its all good haha
@Mark Simmons oh and to prove my point.. there have already been black mr. olympias. so there was nothing racial about it... Arnold beat his predecessor who was also black.
Arnold is Numero Uno
Elvis Mutilska arnold nombre juan
Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted that he had made up several stories in the movie for attention because the producers told him that without drama it would be boring. One of the stories made up was the fact that he did not attend his father's funeral because of a body building competition that was going to happen in a couple of months. Arnold did actually attend his father's funeral and spoke to him shortly before he passed away.
when i was young i was working out with the weights and for being short i had a good build.I grew up in Lynnfield ma and graduate of Lynnfield high school 1975.Barry shulman.
I bought the original Pumping Iron DVD and brought it on deployment with me. By the end of the tour, I had half my shop in the gym every day and three workout partners in rotation. We all got huge and looked great, smashing our PRT when we got back.
One of the best documentary I hv seen in my teen age that get me into bodybuilding and till 2day it helps me to b a better man and 1 step ahed of myself . ❤️🙏🏻
That's the best documentary about bodybuilding ever, nothing can beat this masterpiece, after seeing it I want to hit gym even harder !
Lou Ferrignault was my favorite always because he was deaf & picked on in Brooklyn speech impediment plus his difficulties "" Harassed picking & beat up by bullies in school all his life until age 15 Lui went through alot & super super huge 6'5 345 lbs & his father was NYPD plus made his son shovel snow off his NYC roof tops of Snow.. Loui did it for a different reason..
This was an amazing idea to upload outtakes and these clips of Arnold just being himself. Arnold is by far one of the best bodybuilders ever, not just because of his biceps or chest but because he is inspiring many other people to start bettering themselves physically and mentally. I’ve started to really get into bodybuilding and working out, right now in the best shape of my life and I train 4x per week. All because of Arnie. He is my hero 😁
Man, those were the times. Seeing them how they trained hard, as well having a fun times and been such a good friends, its amazing. Good times...
Arnold was perfection no one stood a chance
This is the best bodybuilding documentary ever for me.
Lou's story just shows us all that many times we lives other people dreams and lives but not our own and the disapointment is even more because you have than feeling of guilt for letting other down. Each one has to be themselves and do what they really want to do. And words have lots of power and its no Karma bullshit. Lou said to Arnold:" I am going go loose and you will win" and so it happend.
Lou fell short of winning Mr. Olympia, but he did win Arnold's respect and friendship along the way
He just said the truth. Arnold was clearly leaner and a general masterpiece of symmetry. And Lou is one too, but not Arnold level
Understand that this documentary is now 21 years old. Amazing how time flies. That was done 25 years after the film in 2002.
So some of these guys are not with us any longer. Franco died recently and Lou's dad died in 2003. Good to know that everybody lived long successful lives.
Really time flies
Documentary about a documentary, anyway Arnold is one of my favorite movie actors and people in general. He's enthusiastic, humble, adventurous, and awesome.
Over 100 hours of footage?! Release it all ready!!
This movie was the reason i started working out. Best decision in my life, thx Arnold for living your dream!
How are you going now?
Arnold was my first Inspiration. Then i saw his biceps in my childhood it was a magic moment. I never forget this. 👑
We live in a great time. We have witnessed so many incredible achievements, even the birth of serious and world wide body building. So cool.
Great movie! This is what made me exercise to be in better shape since I saw this movie decades ago. Thank you!
Listen to Arnold's new Autobiography...OMG Amazing.
Weapons Education which one?
Listen to it? Does anyone read anymore?
@@BigGuy1976 I read
Listen to it ? The fuck
@@donc7984 yeah you can listen to it if someone narrates it. Not every gotta be read and not everything gotta be listened too
He's awesome humble and a great man, nothing is easy in life, and you don't need to be a bodybuilder to be inspired by Arnold just like you don't need to be a boxer to be inspired by Ali.
Those guys are legends. They had so much fun back then its not like it is now
Arnold was destined for success you can just see it in his eyes! The man was so focused. Self made all the way.
Dwayne Johnson does great Ahhnold impersonation
Robbie Robinson is so graceful and full of soul
Pumping Iron
ขอบคุณหลายๆเด้อ เป็นกำลังใจให้เสมอครับ ขอบพระคุณอย่างสูงครับ
4:21 Arnold used to do weights 6 days a week, incl. 3 days of running (so weights + runs on some days)- Absolute machine of energy!
not impossible at all..I work out 6 days a week and I'm 47
An very inspirational doc. Great values of life .. I wished I be a part of such movie and friends
Arnold says they took steroids...THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONESTY!!! Wish other athletes would learn from you Arnold...u r THE GREATEST!!
I watched Pumping Iron and Generation Iron back to back and was saddened to see what became of bodybuilding.
I look at BBers of the 1940-1970s and see Greek statues brought to life, I look at today's BBers and see a bunch of pregnant cows of grotesque proportions.
Also, Pumping Iron is a better pre-workout in my opinion because you see a bunch of big dudes throw free weight(for the most part) around, do heavy squats and rows.
Generation Iron features a bunch of guys going ham on machines with little free weight exercises.
Not as 'metal' as lifting heavy ass barbells. :P
with you all the way
The difference is steroids.
Comment the link of pumping iron movie
that is so f***ing true. I always look back to the Arnold era of bodybuilding for inspiration!
@@cfwintner1 Uh...what? Lol You know Arnold has talked about his steroid stack and which compounds specifically were his favorite right? Steroids have been a part of bodybuilding for a very long time. What you're referring to is the introduction of growth hormone and insulin abuse, not steroids.
If you want to talk and achieve serious things in life you have to have vision and know about the smallest details of your subject you are into.. Many people are superficially stiff and empty.
Many feel called just a few are chosen. Even when you lose a bodybuilding contest just remember you got the body 💪🏽
Arnold was the best!
Arnold IS the best!
Why, thank you!

thanks for upload, muscle freak !
Love this, and what a community to be a part of in a bygone era of genuine quality. This makes me love the psychology of the sport along with the characters even more, and goes without saying Arnold is the man, but I love Lou, what a guy.

Amen, brother.
you better get both......classic arnold
One of the best documentary 😌❤❤
Yo I think most underrated in the whole world. Man what a documentary
Just been watching the video and reading some of the comments. Someone mentions Plato and his Dialogues. It reminded me of a story I read about Milo of Croton. Look him up, true historical character. He's considered to be the first strongman.
Very interesting story. I read about him in a training magazine from Men's Fitness. Basically the story goes that his father would get him to lift a baby Ox onto his shoulders every day. As he grew up, so did the Ox. And therefore his strength level increased over time until he was built up like a brick shit house!
"Is the pump better than coming? It's not, trust me"~Arnold Schwarzenegger
We hired pumping iron back in the 70s..made a fortune"
personally I loved the film"
However the one guy who should have been featured in it ...
Was
FRANK ZANE" ABSOLUTLY AMAZING "
Arnie was okay?.. but Frank Zane was less mass, but pure grace & Symmetrical, absolutely RIPPED"..
MY hero of the 70s..
This movie is still relevant, I just started getting in to pumping. And this movie is a great inspiration!
I would love to see a follow up, or a "where are they now" story about the guy at 33:25....he looks so sullen and sad...who was he? did he ever get into any kind of shape??
Arnold really had and still doesn't have someone that outpowers him, he was the best
best documentary I've seen
He's an absolute ICON!
bud did a good thing putting his salary back into the movie plus you could tell he isn't the type to stick with it and love hitting the gym which you need working out is great .
......... LONG LIVE Arnold Schwarzenegger A ++++
I loved Arnie before this, I love him even more now after watching!!
Miss the good old times, 90' and before, good music, no smartphones, and when we have amazing action movie with Arnold and Stallone, the time goes too fast...
i watched Arnold on screen when i was 10 years old, NOW i m 22 and i still love body building as much as i did back than. I even had to save my lunch money for month to go and buy his BOOK.
