  • Michael Gerard "Mike" Tyson (also known as Malik Abdul Aziz) (born June 30, 1966) is a retired American professional boxer. Tyson is a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles at 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old. Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, with 12 of them occurring in the first round. He won the WBC title in 1986 after defeating Trevor Berbick by a TKO in the second round. In 1987, Tyson added the WBA and IBF titles after defeating James Smith and Tony Tucker. He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold the WBA, WBC and IBF titles, and the only heavyweight to individually unify them.
In 1988, Tyson became the lineal champion when he knocked out Michael Spinks in the first 91 seconds of the fight. Tyson successfully defended the world heavyweight championship nine times, including victories over Larry Holmes and Frank Bruno. Tyson lost his titles to 42-to-1 underdog James "Buster" Douglas on February 11, 1990, in Tokyo, Japan, by a knockout in round 10. Tyson continued in his quest to regain the titles, defeating Donovan Ruddock twice in 1991. Tyson was then scheduled to take on the undisputed heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield but pulled out due to injury.
In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington, for which he was sentenced to six years in prison but was released after serving three years. After his release, he engaged in a series of comeback fights. In 1996, Tyson won the WBC and WBA titles after defeating Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon by knockout. After being stripped of the WBC title, Tyson lost his WBA crown to Evander Holyfield in November 1996 by an 11th round TKO. Their 1997 rematch ended when Tyson was disqualified for biting off part of Holyfield's ear.
In 2002, he fought for the world heavyweight title at the age of 35, losing by knockout to Lennox Lewis. Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2006 after he was knocked out in consecutive matches against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Tyson declared bankruptcy in 2003, despite having received over US$30 million for several of his fights and $300 million during his career.
Throughout his career, Tyson became well known for his ferocious and intimidating boxing style as well as his controversial behavior both inside and outside the ring. Tyson is considered to have been one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time. He was ranked No. 16 on The Ring's list of 100 greatest punchers of all time. and No. 1 in the ESPN.com list of "The hardest hitters in heavyweight history". He has been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame!......plz rate n leave ur comments..

It hurts to hear him cry thinking if he lost he wouldn't be loved. He is such a deep, dedicated, intelligent human being. He didn't have love in his life before boxing. Now he does things for Charity, and is a great role model to this day. We are all lucky to have lived in the time he is here. A real superhero.

The fact that a kid from the street can be made the youngest heavy weight champ of all time, makes anyone believe in themselves. A big shame we never got to see a top form Tyson against the top form Hollyfield.

Ive always liked Mr. Tyson. Watched every fight that i could.
Ive been really down recently because after two surgeries to fix my hands they found cancer. I beat the cancer but lost alot of strength, size and weight. After watching most of the available videos of Mr Tyson traing i got motivated. He and i are the same age. I will never be an amateur or pro fighter but i did get motivated enough to start going to the gym and eat like i need to gain strength and weight back. Tyson is a fighter. Everything he does in life in his mind is a fight to win. That is a great mindset and im greatful for the motivation.

Iron Mike is a rare boxing champion the world has known. His tragic flaw was his own lapse of self control. He was more sinned against than sinning, I can say! He has seen the ups and downs of his career no boxer has ever had. He could be easily irritated and he thus he himself let others to gain over him. He was exploited not by his Manager Mr King but many of his " friends ". It's a pity to see this Super Star who reigned supreme in the Realm of Boxing fall to the bottoms of penury and defamation as " Mr Nobody " to talk about in exulted terms. The truth is nobody can break Iron Mike's Track Records. But Mike Tyson lives on...! May God bestow upon him all the peace, power and prosperity he needs now.

What a moving story of Mike Tyson!! We all need people, no matter who they are, to guide us, mentor us, give us helpful advice, and believe in us enough to push us to our the level as far as dreams and careers go. Other people are put in your life to just be a friend, and be an encouragement, but it's all meant to happen, and people meant to meet, that see "the greatest" side of your potential, not magnifying "the worse" side of you!

***** Douglas was a bum who got a gift, he was a 42-1 underdog for a good reason. He never fought anyone of name, there were a lot of great fighters during that era, and he only faced 3 of them, and got rocked by two. After he beat Tyson he only fought Holyfield on a mandatory and because he knew his 15 minutes of fame were up, so he took that 24mil purse and ran. This was to be just Tyson's brush up to fight Holyfield in June 18 of that same year that would have generated the highest grossing boxing match ever. You think promoters were gonna put him in with somebody challenging?
I can keep going homes, gimme a good challenge.

***** I been boxing before you were even sperm. All you ever known about boxing is watching Yootwoob videos, that's why you can't appreciate Tyson as a fighter because you weren't there from the beginning. He was just a beast in the ring, there was such an adrenaline rush when you'd see his fights that I'm sorry you just missed. I watch boxing now just chasing that initial high and can never get. Since you lack that frame of reference you only focus on some shit fighter that had no confidence going in (he told reporters he'd be surprised if he'd even last more than 2 rounds) Tyson didn't train, and got dropped during sparring for the first time ever. His training camp was shit as he was getting high and fucking dozens of women. Yeah, it was his fault, he threw it all away. But don't make that bum more than he ever was.

Feel sorry for Tyson everyone who died around him been younger seemed to be the true people besode him, then business and fame takes all that purity from him turns him into something he never was I believe the lights and camera's pressured him alot been at that age at the end of the day he was an amazing fighter thanks for the video : )
